evan's wish trip report, snow white, dumbo, and heat!

I love it all!!! Great TR and even better pictures! Ev looks hot, but he looks like he is having the time of his life in the pics too. So sweet! :goodvibes

okay, so i thought i was going to be able to get all of this day written today, but it is almost time for evan to get home from his night with daddy, and i want to do the story justice, so i am going to come back.;)

but i will say, we had a GREAT time with my bff vicki, george, claudia, and cara. we were super excited to wear really cool dino tie dye shirts that were a gift from jenn. (whom i did not thank properly yet, and i am so sorry. jenn, if you are reading this and have a disname, PLEASE let me know!!) i am not sure that she knew this, but the shirts she sent for us were in our college colors (orange and black). and actually, i think i am going to send this picture in to our college newsletter!

thanks for reading along!!!

Great report! We live in the Burgh' and will be leaving from Pittsburgh on the 14th of June. Did you have to take any meds with you and did you have any problems going through security? And by the way how cute is Evan?!!! I love when he is looking up at the princess.

hey there!
i loved in washpa for 8 years before my hubby left. i SO miss the 'burgh!!!
we did take evan's medicine, he only has 3. security was a little confusing because we were there at a busy time, but they were pretty nice and if hamilton cam walk through (i haven't had a chance to read your story yet...) i don't think it would be bad at all. my only advice is that only one of you go through the special line with him and take nothing with you. let whoever else is going through the regular line deal with that=)

good luck and let me know if i can answer any other questions. have a magical trip!!!

i am pretty sure i told you all that there was recrd breaking heat while we were in orlando. it was awful. 95 by 11am:eek: and evan does not do well in the heat. so it was not exactly as adventure packed as i may have originally planned.

we stopped downstairs at the castle and used the companion restroom (which is a FABULOUS thing, by the way) and changed into some really spiffy mickey tie dye shirts a friend made us. they were so cute...ev was rocking it:thumbsup2

we had to do a lot of ride, break, ride, break throughout the morning. but evan got to do philharmagic, country bears, haunted mansion, and some other i am sure i am forgetting. he liked everything, especially country bears, which is one of gran's faves:)

at the end of haunted mansion, we got one of the squirt bottle/fan things. ev carried it around in his chair with it right in his face most ot the day...it was that hot:sad2:

we did see some characters, woody and jessie (but we missed the line) and DONALD DUCK! donald was really sweet. we got this pic for D`;)

donaldducksmall.jpg

Hey LeAnn and Ev!!!

Sorry I am so late chiming in... I am still recovering from our European adventure. LOL

I love the pic of Ev with Donald! It's the best!

But I do have to say, my all time favorite is the one of Ev with all the Princess kisses! LOL That is so awesome!!! :lovestruc

Now that I've found your TR... I look forward to hearing about the rest of it!!! :)

D~

sorry I'm late joining in on the TR fun.....

how cool you got to stay in Snow Whites house, Evan must of been thrilled!
I love all the photos of Ev with the princesses....he looks so happy!
looks like you all were having a great time and getting some pixie dust along the way!

the race must of been fun to watch and it was so great Evan was picked to start it off!

Great trip so far---too bad about the heat!

Love the Snow White shirt! Very cute. You guys looked like royalty! :thumbsup2 And yeah--your tote bag--adorable!

The tix--aaaah!:scared1: You must have had a momentary freakout! Glad that the lady at the tix counter sprinkled some pixie dust to make up for the price difference. Ugh! What a way to start a day!!

Best pic--Evan with Snow's lip print. Priceless! That's what it was all about. Sooooo happy to got to live out that dream.

Love that you guys got to help out with the Sunshine Foundation race--and what a little prince you have! Kissing the hand of the sweet lady who gave him the medal---melt my heart!:lovestruc

T-rex tye dye shirts---very cool! What wonderful dust your friend sent along! Can't wait to hear how Evan liked his TRex meal and Ridzmaker car!

hey guys!

sorry i am just now back to update, but there is a little dictator who lives with me who will not allow much computer time in the daytime, and since we have been back, i have just been too pooped to stay up late and do much. (i guess that pre trip adrenaline has worn off=) ) but, this is the first full weekend ev will have been with his daddy since about two weeks before our trip (because of baseball games being on saturday afternoons) and i am hoping to have a lot to share with you.

i also heard a rumor that the professional pics we had done on our last day may be ready today, so i may have a really special treat for you all sometime this weekend;)

anow, here goes...

after a busy day at the race, and some fun time at the pool (and a little rest), we got ready to head back to downtown disney to meet with my best friend and her family. vicki and i met each other i believe on the first day of college. she lived a few doors down on the other side of the hall. she was actually from a town only about 15 minutes from where lived, and her last name was the same as my mom's maiden name (which happens to now be evan's middle name). we had never met each other, but back in those days, people thought we were sisters because we looked so much alike=)

anyway, we stayed close over the years, and she is the first person i call for any news, good, bad, or otherwise. we have been there for each other for good and bad times, and she really is my best friend. she also happens to live in florida now, which makes for really nice, cheap vacations=)

another strange coincidence is that vic and i always said we wanted to have kids together. turns out, evan and C. are exactly 1.5 days apart from each other! not planned, i might add! C is a doll and so crazy and funny. sometimes it is a little tough though, because she is absolutely the closest thing to evan in terms of "what should have been". but, i love C and seeing all she can do gives me hope that someday evan will do at least some of the cool things she does.

evan and C hadn't seen each other in over a year, so i think he was a little excited to see her! we met them in the parking lot behind t-rex, and he was already very interested in her!!!

i guess i should have mentioned that vic's husband george (another old pal of mine from school) and thier baby c were coming along too...and gran and grump, of course!

we all changed into our dino theme shirts that our new friend jenn made for us! the kids especially looked adorable:lovestruc and i am not sure if she knew this or not, but the orange and black were perfect...our alma mater's colors:thumbsup2

porters6small.jpg

this is us in our cute shirts...mom cut off george's head!

but we headed to TRex and were seated really fast in an area right outside the ice room. on a side note, i have been to rainforest several times, in a few different places, and always liked it. trex kicks rainforest's butt!!!

evan was funny, he loves dinosaurs and could not get enough of them. here is a pic of him checking out the big trex in the lobby...he looks a little dorky, sorry:rotfl:

trex8small.jpg

we had a really nice meal. the kids were fairly well behaved. grump was picking on C and it was pretty funny. i had a steak, and i have to say, it was DELISH...easily the best meal i had on the trip. mom and vic and george all had pulled pork sammies. grump had some kindof shirmp pasta and ev had dino chicken nuggets. everyone enjoyed their food.

what i really liked about trex, besides the food and the company, was the ice room. it was so pretty and it changed colors throughout our meal. i went to the bathroom twice just so i could look around in there:laughing:

trex12small.jpg

this is a pic of the ic room from where we were sitting.

a funny story about evan though...he liked rainforest, but for whatever reason was afraid of the thunderstorm there. at trex, they have a "meteor shower" which is, in my opinion, the same EXACT thing. at trex he LOVED it...we actaully had to wait for one last one!!! is it because trex has dinsaurs??? who knows???

anyway, gran and grump treated everyone to this really nice meal, and we got ready to head to the next surprise for the kiddos...ridemakerz!

love you all in your special shirts and how fun for you to have time with your friends!
love the photo of the ice room...very "cool" :lmao:

yay, an update!

I have to say, I think you might inspire me to do a PTR and a TR for our September trip :goodvibes

as we left trex, we headed toward the west side area to take the kids on their playdate at ridemakerz. the kids were pretty cheerful since they were well fed, and it wasn't quite as ungodly hot, so we got to enjoy the walk and looking at some of the cool shops and restaurants.

evan, i think had a bit of a crush on C. he really, really, REALLY wanted to hold her hand. C. thinks boys are icky and really, really, REALLY didn't want to hold hands. but ev must be kind of cute, because she eventually gave in. her face got really red though!!

porters10small.jpg

AAAWWWW:lovestruc

so, ridemakerz is something i had never heard of, but vic and C and george had discovered it a few weeks ago when they went to watch the final shuttle launch and it was scrubbed. it is pretty much like a "build-a-bear" workshop, but for cars!

it was retty cool though. i think it is in the building that used to be the virgin megastore, and it is all decked out like a racecar garage. there is even a real racecar sitting up front:thumbsup2

it worked much like a build-a-bear in that you picked all your parts (body, sounds, engine, wheels, rims, etc) and then put your car together. i nominated george to be in charge of this fun activity:)

they had lots and lots of cars to pick from, including some from the cars movie...but the prices were pretty high, in my opinion. (especially if you were getting a remote contolled car, which adds $25 to the price.) ev and C chose matching sports cars, but his was red and hers was pink.

ridmakerz6small.jpg

this is us assembling ev's car.

ridmakerz14small.jpg

this is us waiting to pay for the cars

ridmakerz13small.jpg

and this is ev with his finished car...it goes really fast and he loves it...still playing with it at home:yay:

the kids really enjoyed ridemakerz, and they were a little disappointed that they were not allowed to drive them on the streets of downtown disney. but, we made our way back towards the marketplace, and on the way we ran into a really cool street erformance that evan LOVED! i didn't catch the name of the group, but they were dressed in victorian outfits and playing cool versions of popular classical music. ev was super happy to see "busic"!

downtowndisneymusicsmall.jpg

now, i would like to say that evan does not enjoy shopping at home. he does like to shop for toys and food, but he is not a browser, at all. sadly, (or maybe fortunately) this habit did not change while we were at WDW. he had not been interested in any stores so far. and since i had a fairly large gift list i had to take care of, i figured the world of disney store was my best shot for one stop shopping. fortunately vic was a little more familiar with the store, and since i had a list, it only took a little over an hour. george and grump were good sports and took the kids while us girls went in the store. we had a pretty obscene amount of merchandise, and i used a good bit of our gift card stash, but what we actually "paid" for was not as bad as it could have been...
okay, i am lying here, we spent way too much...but what are you gonna do:laughing:

sadly, after shopping, c was really tired, so the p family did not get to join us for ghirardelli's. and even more sadly, the line for ice cream was horrendous and out onto the street. so i have no super cute pics from there. we did still get ice cream, but i stood in line for all of us and brought it outside.

mom, ev, and grump had found seats at a stage where we watched some high school show choir that tried to sound like glee. they weren't bad and evan really enjoyed them. after this, we headed home for the night!

Caught up sorry I was late.
The dino shirts are amazing I love love love the colors :lovestruc
The heat was awful. We spent more time in the pool then the parks too.

the weather forecast for sunday was not good. it ended up being the hottest day of our trip. :sad2: so we were trying to figure out what would be the best thing for evan, because he was pretty tired and grumpy still. we figured that asking him to go back to the park in the morning may not be goo, so we decided we would hang out at the village in the morning and head to the park at dinnertime and hit all the air conditioned attractions until the sun went down since hollywood studios was open really late.

but there were a few things grump andi really wanted to do, so being the bad mama i am, i asked ev and gran if it was okay if grump and i went for just a few hours and were home at lunch time to take ev to the pool. i felt kind of bad, but they didn't mind at all and really had a great morning at the village.

but grump and i headed out early to hollywood studios. i think i mentioned this was the beginning of star wars weekend. now i know NOTHING about star wars, so it didn't make a bit of difference to me, but these guys were walking along the entryway and were really funny...

startours3small.jpg

grump likes star wars. he is not as obsessed with it as he is with, say, smallville...but he likes it. apparently it waas a really big deal that this star tours ride was reopening. we were there super early, so we headed that direction. there was no line, so we walked right on. i was styling in my super cool glasses:thumbsup2

startours7small.jpg

funny little story about the cheesy thumbs up face...when we took my parents to disney for christmas when i was married, grump did the "thumbs up:thumbsup2" in EVERY picture he was in with a character. when i sstarted teasing him about it in anticipation of this trip, he didn't believe me. so i pulled out the scrapbook and sure enough...there it was. so in every picture this time, i tried to get him to do it...he only did it a few times, so i tried to make up for it!!

star tours was fun. not super fantastic or anything, but fun. by the time we came out the line was over an hour long and people in star wars stuff were everywhere! i don't get it, but they seemed to have fun getting their geek on!!!:lmao:

we got to do some other rides that evan would not have enjoyed. we did the great movie ride...

hollywoodstudios3small.jpg

love me some neil diamond:banana:

we had a fun little adventure on the backlot tour when we got picked to be in the show. i was the captain and grump was the deckhand. i wish ev had been there to see it...it had to have been really funny:laughing:

hollywoodstudios11small.jpg

we are the two at the end...
