Today started as we hoped, kids up on time having cereal. They visited the lavs for their last one before the drive.
Beth came back into the living room and whispered into her mums ear, i was motioned to leave the rest of the group to talk. Beth had been to the toilet and things were Green! We racked our brains and couldn't think for the life of us what it could be.
We set off anyway still thinking and worrying what this could be. We boarded the monorail and headed to the Magic Kingdom. As we approached we were greeted by the site of a crane next to the castle Lovely!!!
We got into the park and were held for the arrival of the train and Mickey etc which was really good, we then made the obvious dash to the clockwise route and was held at the entrance to adventureland.
Rides went like this
Pirates walk on
Splash x 2 walk on
Fastpass Splash mountain
Big Thunder x2 walk on
We walked over to the Haunted Mansion which was again walk on, things remained pretty quiet. After the HM we decided to use the Splash Mountain fastpass and make our way over to Tom Saywer island for dinner which we like to do for the peace and quiet.
After lunch and I was trembling, we all know why as it was time for the ride that no sane person can mention for fear of singing the song. We moved into fantasyland to ride all the usual suspects
After the trauma of the first day and the tiredness of EPCOT this was a lovely day and it seemed as though the holiday was starting. The kids were happy but Dan was finding the Disney rides a little tame for what he was expecting so they went to Space Mountain, we fastpassed it and visited Belles storytime. Kids are so different and that what makes them wonderful, when they asked for volunteers, as usual Toria had her hand up but Beth was too scared, when they chose the kids Beth wanted to and was all upset. We are used to this so we just let her get on with it.
On the walk to Space Mountain we abused the misting station under the rocket, wow that was needed as it was hitting 89 degrees by this time. Me and Beth rode on our passes followed by Beth and Sarah.
We had quiet next couple of hours, rode Buzz Lightyear a couple of times, I wiped the floor with the whole family at this as usual (10x their combined score--not competitive or anything) We asked the girls if they wanted an ice cream and we all pigged out at Auntie Gravitys Galatic goodies shop all having a nice sundae each, mine had the works as I needed to replenish the strength sapped on Buzz Lightyear. We got a pic with Buzz and heaced to Main Street. Nothing much happened then before the night parade, we made our way to the top of Main St to the right of the last shop near the entrance, Dave, Les and their family had been talking to a cast member who had showed them where they would rope off the roundabout for Spectromagic so they had plonked themselves there for a spot with full view of the starting point, they used the Walkie Talkies to zero us in and we all sat down to compare our afternoons- Cool !!
After the parade we decided to give a shot to the place we watched wishes from last year, we trudged down with the crowds along Main Street taking in the odd shop, after the cart on the right hand side there is a pathway that shortcuts towards Futureland, we found a spot there again that has uninterrupted views of the castle- Great Job! We all thought.
Wishes was superb as always, this finished and we started the fight to get home, this was easier than I remember but we should all note how good Disney are at moving people with efficiency.
On the way home I was starting to think of Beths plight again, then it clicked .It was the sherbert they has had in EPCOT, the ones with the great big tubes. She had had loads of green and all this rubbish must have made her the way she was. Now they sell some rubbish food over their but this must take the award, I am still considering a letter to Disney to complain at the worrying it caused.
All in all this felt like the start of the holiday, we were all knackered and needed the hot tub and beer, this is where the Indian Creek villa came into its own (Thanks again Mr Sharp!!) we were in the house within 15 minutes of leaving the car park. Brilliant!!!
