Due to personal circumstances etc, we've missed out on the chance to experience the magic for the last 2 years :sad1: However the time has finally come and my boyfriend Greg and I are off to DLRP on June 30th - 3rd July!!!!!! :cloud9:

However, we've been umming and aahring over which kind of transport to use, for both convenience and value for money, and wanted some advice on the Eurostar?

We've looked into both this and the eurotunnel, and as there's only 2 of us this time (usually we would have gone with the whole family) we wondered if it would make more sense to take the eurostar based on the fact that this way we wont have to fork out for car insurance and petrol ontop of the crossing? Anyone who has used the eurostar service before; I would be very grateful for any comments or suggestions as to which is the better idea and if the eurostar really is as easy as it seems on face value!!!

Thank you very much!

I love the Eurostar - get on at St Pancras, sit for 2 and a half hours, get off at Disney! And if you use the Disney Express service you don't even have to tak your bags to the hotel, it's all done for you. Whats not to love?

Having said that we live in Surrey and getting into London is easy for us, if you're not in the commuter belt then I'd imagine it would be a bit more of a faff.

I always travel on eurostar to dlp and i must say i cant fault the service! Its so stress free! I cant recommend eurostar enough!

Wow, sounds great! And another question...would it work out cheaper to add the transport to our holiday package with Disney or book it separately through eurostar?

Thank you so much for the help!

Most people have found it to be cheaper to book separately but it depends on how far out you are booking it

Hiya

Personally I love the Eurostar, as previous posters have said getting on a train, and a couple of hours later getting off at the parks is just the most incredible feeling ever.

That said, the ease of the train is always somewhat marred for us because of the getting to and from the train in the UK. The train leaves 9:30ish, and check-in is an hour before. Being me, I like to be safe and get there 90 minutes before so that's like 8am. Getting to a station in London, with luggage, for 8am is not the easiest thing in the world to do - and not the cheapest when you consider connecting trains and/or hotel the night before or parking your car in London for a few days.

An alternative we prefer is to drive to Ashford, where the Eurostar makes it's one stop enroute to DLP, and catch the train from there. It is easy to drive to, has a car park at the station, and the journey is shorter.

Just thought I'd mention it, as I am always really positive about a London trip when I'm getting ready to book it and then as I start figuring all the little details, I wish I had 'simpler' plans!

We just booked the Eurostar to go from London to DLP for our first trip in July. Having never been to the UK or France before it's good to know that we made the right choice!
