Euro Magic Med 7 Night Cruise Aug 20 - 27 2011

Taking off to Quito, Ecuador tomorrow, so I won't be around the Dis for at least 5 days.

Catch you all later :cool1:

Have a great trip! Tell us all about it when you get home!

Hi, I´m back.

Large flight But Really Great time. Quito is a very nice city and a lot of history in it. It´s the worlds 3rd tallest capital city after one in Nepal and La Paz in Bolivia; but it´s the city closest to the Sun; it´s something to do with the world´s belly around the ecuator.

Lot´s of places to see and to enjoy, but by far the most Beautiful/Amaizing/overwhelming thing is this Church which in the inside is all made of Gold; yes, real 24 K Gold film covering everything exept the seats and the flor. They wont let you touch anything. It´s name is "La Iglesia de la Compañia de Jesus" (Jesus´s Company Church)

This is it:

Also, you can see from a mountain 4 diferent active volcanoes, but there are 7 of them.

How´s the Dis ? Any new cruisers, ummm, anywhere ! do we still have a cruise ?

Well, today is Mother's Day; so lots of joy to all the Mom's. But it's like my Mom say's: Every day is Mother's Day.

Today we go to my sisters home for a family outdoor barbeque :cool1:

Long week for me since nothing exiting or different happened, just the ususal monday through friday routine. :(

Lot's of rain though, big heavy drops and for almost all day all week; it won't be long for flooding news to come around. :cloud9:

This weekend just going to stay put and relax, maybe check the 2010 Med cruises to see other peeps comments on their mediterranean Magic. :surfweb: I keep seeing lots of stuff on "Pick Pocket's" so I will probably book shore excursions with everything prepaid on the Magic in order to minimize potential pockets picked and just carry petty cash (if there's such thing in Euros ) :lmao:

Well, we are 463 days away from sailing day and still two lonely Dis Cruisers only, so if it's ok with you CarrianeB I'll take the whole right side of the ship ! That is of course if no one else comes along ! ;)

463 Day's peep; that's only 15.4 months or if you prefer 1.26 year. Maybe for me sounds like a long time but it's really not for an Eurupean/Mediterranean Cruise Planning pixiedust:

Sorry Carrianneb, just changed my mind on the right side of the ship thing all I need is a Bar (don't matter which), the Coffee/expresso shop, one of the whirlpools by the adult pool and the hidden sunning deck. pirate:

Hello just saying Hi. Tonight we are going to a concert here in my home town (Valencia)

We are going to see Roger Hodgson.

Sorry, what ? Who is he you say ? Well, thank you for asking.

Roger Hodgson is the lead singer for one of the greates rock band ever, it's actually my second best favorite band: THE SUPERTRAMP. Great songs like Dreamer, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Breakfast in America, etc. etc.

It's a simphonic-rock band with great piano plays.

:rockband:

We are still sticking to what is our "1st Nice to Have Itinerary" :

Arrive from Venezuela at Madrid around 6 am (waste one day on Jet Lag)
Madrid: 4 nights. One day tour to Toledo.
Barcelona: 4 nights. One day tour to Monserrat.
DISNEY MAGIC CRUISE
Fly Back to Venezuela.

Maybe considere Tenerife on our way back since I want to make it for a complete 3 weeks vacation so I still have a few day to consider.

So sorry for all of those that live somewhere around the Golf of Mexico (specially all wild life) with the very unfortunate oil spill. I can't beleive that it still going.

Nothing against BP but the accident was human error, and the "Not Fixing the Problem" is management error. It is obvious what they want to do is not just plug it up, it's how to reuse it againg.

Hey Hey!! :yay: Just popping by.... Sorry I've been a bad neighbor lately...my little PT temporary job working for the Census created a lot of erratic hours for me. I worked 2 or 3 hours in the mornings and a couple in the afternoon then 2-3 every evening. Just odd enough to keep me from getting anything else done!! I have been trying to work as close to full-time as possible while the hours were available...but sadly it is all about to end. I am on my last assignment binder and it is one that seems to have everybody home when I knock! If nobody's home when I go it really helps spread out the work and make it last. But no such luck with this one. I was hoping for another 3-4 weeks of work... I am crossing my fingers that I will get kept on for the next phase of the census. They will be starting a Quality Control phase next which will spot check all of this Enumeration phase. My Crew Leader said he would put in a good word for me as a recommendation but who knows if that will help. He didn't really know how this next phase would be hired out. I don't mind NOT WORKING for a couple of weeks if I know there's more work to come soon after. I just really was hoping to make a little more over the summer!!:rolleyes1 It has been nice to have a paycheck the past couple of weeks.

Well, I have some work to do outside and it's turning into a nice evening so I'll holler at ya'll again later!!

Ciao!

Hello, gone for a week and the thread was all the way down page 5.

Well I guess if pixiedust: doesn't cut it we are going to need to summon a higher power like Mickey :mickeyjum to send as some more cruisers to the thread.

How are you CarrianneB, long time no see: are you traveling again ?

The world Cup Beguins tomorrow for one whole month. It is a wild month, specially here in Venezuela some games will be held at 2 pm, paralizing everything way into 4 pm and more, depending on who is playing or wining.

I'm rooting for Brazil, 5 times Champions, but do wish the best of luck to all of those other teams, at the end, only the best will win, so who ever they are they deserve it.

None the less:

:cheer2::cheer2: GO BRAZIL GO :cheer2::cheer2:

Hi guys! I don't follow soccer but enjoy your games!

I saw where DCL has started dropping prices on the June 2011 Meds...keeping my fingers crossed they will eventually drop our August ones a little bit too! ::yes:: Keeping my eyes open!! :sail:

I am still working a screwy schedule although the work is about to dry up. It's just been enough to keep me VERY disorganized. DS's last day of school is next Wed. - other than swim practice / meets I have no plans for him so I need to figure out what to do with him. He has 1 2-week session of camp for the 1st 2 weeks of August then we have a week of vacation at the beach for the 3rd week of August...but that leaves 6 weeks that I need to "fill".:rolleyes1 Oh dear!!

Ya'll were all the way back on page 4 - just giving ya a quick bump back into reality!! I am going away to my parents house in West Virginia this weekend - it's a dual purpose trip - there is a family reunion AND it's Father's Day on Sunday... We usually only go there around Christmas and once in the summer so it's sort of a semi-annual trip for us. It's about a 4 hour drive each way with a quick stop in the middle somewhere for a bathroom break or a quick meal. I have a busy day today so thought I'd give ya'll a bump now while I had a moment. Have a good weekend!! :goodvibes

Thank you Annie, have a great weekend/father's Day/Family Reunion. I will be celebrating too. ;)

Oh My God ! Waaaayyyyy Down to page 5. Going there (pg 5) felt like going in to an old house cellar, dark, lonely, & full of lonely Dis's Boards :scared:

Yes been MIA like Annie says but really, I need motivation too, so how about masive replyes cruisers or not. Here's a token of friendship to the whole world of cruisers and cruisers wanna be's The Magic Awaits you in the Mediterranean :welcome:

If you are like me, my Go No Go date is about 90 days before sailing. That is the due date when it has to be 100% paid in order to start booking shore excursions. That is only 10 months away :dance3:

It doesn't sound too long away does it !:rolleyes1

I called my TA and asked them to search for airplane tickets and potential hotels in Madrid and Barcelona, so will let you know which ones I'll consider, probably mostly on location and services.

Hi there! I finally got caught up on reading all 8 pages of posts. I am about to book this cruise for my family. We've narrowed it down, gone back and forth from the Sept. 3rd sailing and Aug. 20th, so it looks like this one won:)

It will be me, DH, DS 7, DD 3, MIL & FIL. (ages at time of cruise)

Can't wait to get to know all of you (well, the 2 of you for now) and then to finally meet you :woohoo: I am interested in the bracelets and the fish extender :thumbsup2 Cant wait!

My biggest concern (for now) with this particular cruise date is that it is during one of the hottest months and also that the locals are on vacation this entire month. How will the excursions turn out for us? I've read that most of the tourist locations are still open for business, but some close for holiday. I've also read that the locals swarm to the beaches, so a beach visit is out of the question, but do they also visit the touristy places too? Like The Vatican and Leaning Tower of Pisa? These are my two main excursions that we want to take. The rest is up in the air. The hot.... hot air...

pixiedust:

Ok - I guess we'll now need to share a bit more. I'm flexible - but wouldn't mind the Walt Suite

Also - I keep meeting people that have been/are going to Barcelona. They have such fabulous things to say I can't wait. We may need another day or so there!
