We just booked this date. Not sure if its totally firm, but I'm excited nevertheless.

I'm Deborah and I'll be turning 41 on our sailing date! I will be sailing with DH Steve, DD10 Rachel and DS8 Ben.
We live in Sunny Southern California.

We are off to London and Paris in August, so if the kids do well on that trip, it will probably cement this one into place.

Hi there! I finally got caught up on reading all 8 pages of posts. I am about to book this cruise for my family. We've narrowed it down, gone back and forth from the Sept. 3rd sailing and Aug. 20th, so it looks like this one won

It will be me, DH, DS 7, DD 3, MIL & FIL. (ages at time of cruise)

Can't wait to get to know all of you (well, the 2 of you for now) and then to finally meet you I am interested in the bracelets and the fish extender Cant wait!

Well Hello RoniBoBoni, Welcome to this thread, also can't wait to meet you. Saw your concerns on weather heat and on tourist services and beleiveme it has crossed my mind the same thought; I haven't streased about it though since DCL will provide a great time so will see on this matter as we get closer to shore excursions booking dates. Also we can check the comments on what this years Disboards say on the matter on the same dates.

Wellcome Deeds (Deborah) and family from Sunny Southern California hope you decide to stay with us; just let us know any questions you may have in order to help you plan your Magical Vacation in the Mediterranean. The most difficult decision has been made which was to take the cruise-vacation, now when to take it is only about which week is most convinient. So our week from Aug 20th to 27th hopefully will be the most convinient for all of you. Wish you a great trip this August on London and Paris. If you want just let me know any info you may want posted on the first page.

Also - I keep meeting people that have been/are going to Barcelona. They have such fabulous things to say I can't wait. We may need another day or so there!

I'm getting the same info from a lot of people too. Everyone seems to really like Barcelona; a very artistic city. We are dedicating 4 days to Barcelona before the cruise including a trip to Monserrat, a local Monastery; thay have on some days childrens singing and Gregorian Monks which is supposed to be awsome.

Just to let you know and to up date great stuff, the new Castway Members Newsletter - Summer 2010 has been posted on the DCL web page with great new news.

They mention:

Among other things

Aditionally they are promoting Toy Story 3: The Musical also an exclusive for DCL.

We'll see if they still have them a year from now

Also the World Cup is over and it was wan by Spain, do you imagine being in Barcelona at that time; every body took the street and I do beleive the party still goes on. Im sure we'll see some Dis reports mentioning this while embarking or disembarking at Barcelona.

Just kiddin.... I am getting more and more excited as each day goes by. I went to see the travel agent on friday. Is anybody buying Disney's Insurance or are you using a third party? My travel agent said something about kids being free with the insurance company she recomments, I forgot the name, but I can get it if anyone is interested.

For those here.....how many disney cruises have you done so far? This will be (I think) our 6th. The only negative thing about the med cruise is you're off the ship so much, that you don't actually get to enjoy the ship! Hopefully it'll be a good mix of touring/ relaxation.

Do not despair my dear shipmate, there's always a "Cruise Fusion" And then get two cruise weeks for the price of one !

Besides Annie, we are still way ahead of the other cruise weeks like the Aug 6th, 2011 which there's no thread still

We have been in the DCL East and West Caribbean Cruises. We are still Silver Castaway Memebers. You should be Gold with dimonds Deeds having done 6 cruises so far

Regarding your concern on enjoying the ship there is only one sailing day and specially the Florence/Pisa and Rome days are very long excursions (make sure you get back on the ship on time, they will leave you). The Palma day to me is like the Castaway Cay day.

I just found out I lost another ship mate. FLSunshine is jumping over to the Aug. 27 cruise that BWV Dreamin moved to. The price drops by a lot on that one 'cuz it's so late - I think most school age kids are back to school by then so most families with school age kids will not be able to go then. I think I will be the last one on the boat before it's over! I just hope it means more discounts later to go on a empty boat!!

A. Annie, I asked the inlaws if the 13th was a better date, and they said no so.. they are looking into seeing if Aug. 27 is a better date for them. I am concerned about my son missing school, but he'll be in 2nd grade, so I hope it'll be okay.
I'm not joining the Aug. 27 thread till I know for 100% absolute sure, and deposits are made, cause I already feel attached to MRAven (especially after reading 8 pages of his posts). ~sigh
