Euro Magic Med 7 Night Cruise Aug 20 - 27 2011

I'm still here, just been reading the food thread and looking at all those pics. I'm so hungry now.

You seem so organised.

I've got loads to do, and need to get my act together, otherwise we will end up going nowhere and staying on the ship.

Hi Heather :flower3: I haven't seen the food thread but I'm sure it's very tasty. The best meal I've had on The Magic was a Lamb Rack. It was really great. On the first night we like to order a bottle of a nice wine which will follow us every night in every restaurant. That's one of the benefits of the restaurant rotation and of having the same servers all the time.

I know by experience that leaving thing towards the end will cost more money.

These dates are the ones you really need to put an alarm on:

April 20th - Cruise Final payment
May 20th - Shore Excursions/Palo/SPA open up (Silver Castaway Members)
June 1st - Final Day to order/join Polo Shirts/bracelets/FEE/Mixology

Flounders Reef (Nursery) is the ships service that fills up the fastest, then Palo at dinners, then the best massages at the best hours for the only sea day.

Have you found anyone yet to take your place on the Rome excursion with Bats ? I'm sorry I can't help you there.

I contacted DCL to enquire all info regarding the celebration kits they offer on the web page. Based on their answer I beleive it's better to order it prior to cruise emarkation day.

"4/3/11

Dear Manuel,

Congratulations and thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation
to celebrate Liliam's birthday!

I would be happy to assist you.

Based on availability, Guest Services on Deck 3, Midship, has a very
limited supply of decorations on the ship and it does not include a
cake.

Therefore, I would strongly suggest ordering Item 1169 Pkg Happy
Birthday Stateroom Celebration to be placed in the stateroom on
embarkation day by calling 800-601-8455 or 407-566-7000 Monday - Friday
8:00am - 10:00pm (ET) Saturday - Sunday 9:00am - 8:00pm (ET). This
celebration kit cannot be delivered on a different day.

If you decide to upgrade your stateroom at the port, the port will
notify the ship to make the necessary arrangements for the celebration
kit you purchased.

Here are the dates for ordering all Gift Amenities and Floral
Compositions:

*If sailing on Wednesday, order by Monday 12:00pm (Noon)
*If sailing on Saturday, order by Thursday 12:00pm (Noon)

You may view all of the available Gifts to order by going to
www.disneycruise.com > Planning Center > Gifts & Amenities.

Pricing and availability are subject to change without notice.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!

:yay: This is the art desigh for the wristbands that I propose. Please check it out and let me know if you are OK.

Due date to order is June 1st. so there is still time.

I figured that the color is purple considering that the Polo shirts are purple too.

They are Glow in the Dark

DCL Logo is on the front message: "DCL Logo" Euro Mouseketeers "DCL Logo"

For some reason it's forcing me to order 100 adult and 100 child to receive 100 free (That's way to many wristbands) so I still have to give them a call.

I cannot confirm this information until it's final itineraries are posted on DCL web page but the rummor is very strong. There's supposed to be an official announcement tomorrow on comming cruises.

Boy I'm I glad we are on it this year. We would be on the one before last cruise if you don't consider the charter one in september. This encourages me to make it even better and to enjoy it the most.

I'm wishing pixie dust for future cruises in Europe specially the one for Northen Europe to St Petesburgh and one around Greece and Venice.

The DCL Cruises are UP on their webpage. And no Europe till further notice.

New ports are:

Disney Magic:
- New York, New York (Bermuda/Port Canaveral & New England)
- Galvestone, Texas (Wester Caribbean w/out Castaway Cay ???)

Disney Wander:
- Alaska from Seattle
- Hawaii from Los Angeles (15 days)

Disney Dream:
- Bahamas from PC

Disney Fantasy: from PC
- East Caribbean
- West Caribbean

So I guess thay made my decision for Me. The Fantasy it is for Dec 2012 to celebrate my 50th birthday. :cool1:

Unfortunatly for a lot of people DCL has pulled out of Europe; hopefully for just one year. For those that wanted to do it there's still chance this year and for those who are in a Med Cruise this year and want to re-book future European Cruises go for a dummy booking. DCL will go back to Europe; it's part of the Holistic Disney Brand with Disney Land Paris.

Here are my very personal thought's on why they are not doing Europe Cruises in 2012:

1.- North Africa situation: Egypt, Tunes, etc. and all other ports are not safe enough to maintain a long term itinerary.

2.- Port docking availability: Considering what I said before other cruise companies that have as home base European ports (which are a lot) that cannot offer North Africa have to go to Western/Eastern Europe ports twice; Ports in Spain, France, Greece and Itality have a limit on how many cruise ships can they dock at one time. I'm sure they negotieted better rates than DCL therefore blocking other cruise companies. Who would be attracted for a 7 night Med Cruise with 3 days at sea ?

3.- Poor European Marketing; also world wide. I can't believe how many people still don't know that Disney has a Cruise Line.

4.- Air tickets. To cross the Atlantic is getting harder and harder (either way). Disney should have an airline of it self.

5.- Port excursions, although very much worth wile they are extremely expensive.

6.- Western Europe Med cruises is very much saturated for Europeans; new ports and innovation are required; but are they equiped to DCL standard ? A Scotish port or an Irish Port or North France or Liverpool or Dover or Germany would be awsome. Somehow linked to Disney Land Paris like they are doing with the 8 night NY - Orlando itinerary.

7.- Euro / US $ exchange rates.

8.- It's a strategy to consolidate the American Market by putting a ship in all 4 corners of North America.

9.- Diesel fuel prices are more expensive in Europe.

10.- I will leave number 10 to your imagination.

Just be a little calm about it (It's happened before), they will go back to Europe; I'm counting on it :goodvibes

Getting closer now!!

Mick and I have booked to sail on the first cruise out of Galveston on Sept 22nd 2012!! woohooooooooooooo :cool1:

I was wandering if anyone knows of some famous music group (concert) that might be playin in Barcelona for those day we are going to be there (Aug 16-19 and Aug 27-28) I'd really like to go to a nice concert; Opera, Rock, Philarmonic; anything.

I know Roger Water (Pink Floyd) has a concert in Barcelona this year, but it won't be in August.

Anyway, if anyone knows something please tell me.

Tic Toc, Tic Toc, Tic Toc....... :hourglass

I hear the Pope is playing Madrid about the time we are in Spain:laughing:

The wristbands sound brilliant Manny

Have you posted this info on our FB page? you might catch everyone on there :thumbsup2

It's all coming together nicely :woohoo:

we have booked the NY to Bahamas round trip 20th July

The Magic will look great with Manhattan on the back ground.

Our ship is filling Up.

The cheapest stateroom available is at US $ 4006.oo 11A Category.

Staterooms 6085 & 6087 are the only ones left. Anyone knows if there's a downside for this staterooms ?
Although, Steterooms with oceanview and/or with verandah are still wide open. High chance for a free upgrade pixiedust: or at least a cheap upgrade. :cheer2:

This is one of the main reasons I'm planning to arrive early, 10:30 am the latest, at the Barcelona Port. Who else is arriving early ?

2nd reason why arriving early is to avoid large crowds and long lines at check in.

3rd reason is I CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON THE MAGIC :lmao:

Manny - the wristbands sound great - thanks for sorting those out for us!:lovestruc

We are planning to get to the port as soon as possible - I want to eat at Parrot Cay for the first time on embarkation day (previously we have only ever eaten on deck - the first two times was because I didn't know any differently and this past trip we were on the DCL bus and didn't arrive early enough to eat inside);)

I am still having a dilemma about excursions!!! I am definitely doing the Nice/Monte Carlo DCL trip, just DH and DS7 are going to Pisa and we have our DIBB Rome trip, but I am in a real quandary about what to do in Naples??? (I wanted to see Amalfi/Positano but DH really wants to do Pompeii but doing both will be a bit much for the children - so I can see us doing nothing at this rate which seems to be a real shame!!) - Will have to decide soon!!:thumbsup2

We're planning on arriving around the same time. I can't wait. Going to have some lunch and then my DS wants to go to the pool. We need some pixie dust for the lovely free upgrades. Unless it's dead cheap I'll manage where we are. My DH is wanting to go to the Yacht Club in 2012 again, so I need to start saving
:tinker:

That's great to know you are arriving early too, and the lunch at Parrot Cay is very good (kind of puts you in the mood), we'll be doing that too, then go to guest services to fine tune anything that requires it and finally to one of the top decks to enjoy the view. :cool1:

In Naples we are planning of doing Sorrento/Capri/Pompei although that is a very long day excursion; I did see Sorrento and Pompei excursion which it's not as long. Sorrento seems a very nice Italian town, maybe with this you get your Italian Fantasy and the guys will get their Italian Adventure. :woohoo:

This is great that you too are arriving early. :rotfl: May we reconebd Parrot Cay ! :cheer2:

Do you know if anyone has scheduled our first official meet on the Magic ?

Pixie Dust for wanderfull upgrades for all. pixiedust:

If it does happen and you still have a chance to "pick" :rolleyes1 and it's an ocean view or verandah stateroom get the ones on the left side of the ship (don't know how to call it in boat language). Since our ship will be sailing most of the time from west to east to south next to the Spanish/French/Italian coast being on the left side you might get better views. :yay:

THe list for the Fish extender exchange for those that signed up is over on the other Forum Vron put it up today :):cool1::cheer2:
