All DVC contracts specify which unit you own (and how much of it). I'm just curious-- have you ever actually stayed in a room in the unit you own? I usually do room requests via chat with CM and I'm mildly entertained thinking of how they'd respond to such an oddly specific room request (and whether "we literally own there" gets any sway with the room assigner).

Edit: FWIW, our unit at Kidani is just a single 2br lockoff.

It is a meaningless distinction, and some have "units" that are more than a floor full of rooms. It has no bearing on your room request. And to be honest room requests are frequently ignored anyway.

every purchase is for a percentage of a unit on certain Level in each condominium, hard to figure out which unit it would be anyhow unless you have the registered condomnium plans.

Yeah I don't disagree with any of that. We have a last-minute stay coming up at our home resort. I just took what was available and it happened to be in the category/view that our unit is in, which is what made me think of it.

I was curious when we bought in so I went and looked up the condo declaration.

As mentioned, some units are made up of lots of rooms. For example, BPK has inly two units. 101 rooms in each unit.

Based on that, I have stayed in a 5th floor room which is part of the 101 rooms that comprises Unit 11.

Thanks, Sandi. We're on the other end of the scale. We bought at Kidani and our unit is tiny-- it's just a single 2br lockoff (or studio/1BR) on a specific floor, if I read the declaration correctly.

OKW Units consist mostly of whole buildings. Three of my contracts are in Unit 14, I've stayed in that building. My forth contract is in Unit 44, I don't think I've stayed there, but I've been in 45.

I always pictured my ownership (200 points at SSR) as being a random square metre or two of the resort :rotfl:
But it would be cool to find out exactly where I own!

At Boardwalk, I have two deeds - 51A and 53B. I have no idea where to find Boardwalk's unit layouts, and whether those are tied to specific rooms or sections of rooms. Google's AI seems to think those two particular 'units' are supposed to be the 1-bedroom, 5th floor Village Green with connecting studio. But since floors 2-4 also have the '51' and '53' room numbers, I'm not sure I believe the AI. I have never actually stayed in these room numbers though, so even if it is tied to actual villas, I haven't stayed in those precise ones.

You’d have to go to the comptroller site and find every declaration to see what those units are comprised of in terms of rooms.

The room numbers don’t determine unit numbers. As I said, BPK is only 2 units…unit 11 and 12…each with 101 rooms.

Our ownership at BWV is in units 5B and 1C. Based on a diagram I've seen but can't find right now, I think those units are along the BW view wing. One of them is composed of 7 dedicated studios and 1 dedicated 1BR on the 3rd floor, which sounds like it might be the Village Green row, and the other is 1 dedicated studio and 1 dedicated 1BR, also on 3rd floor.

You might be able to find your unit layout in the Orange Co. FL records. The official description of its location, copied from one of our deeds, is:

Disney Vacation Club at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, a leasehold condominium (the "Condominium") according to the Declaration of Condominium thereof as recorded in Official Records Book 5101, Page147, Public Records of Orange County, Florida, and all amendments thereto (the "Declaration"); subject to that certain GroundLease by and between Disney Vacation Development, Inc., a Florida corporation ("DVD") and Walt Disney World Co., a Delaware corporation qualified to do business in Florida, dated April 1, 1994, and any amendments thereto, a short form of which is recorded in Official Records Book 5101, Page 88, Public Records of Orange County, Florida, and any amendments thereto (the "Ground Lease"); and subject to that certain Master Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions recorded in Official Records Book 5101, Page 33 of the Public Records of Orange County, Florida, and all amendments thereto, and subject to easements and restrictions of record.

So at OKW, the Unit # corresponds to the building #? I'll have to find our contract nd see which "Unit" we have. I wonder if Hilton Head contracts are the same-that the unit # is the same as the building #.
