Euro Magic Med 7 Night Cruise Aug 20 - 27 2011

Hello fellow 20th Aug DCL Med cruisers

As the Martini tasting session went down so well on the DCL Med 30th July cruise, and we only have 307 planning days left , I thought It would great to see what sort of tasting session you all fancied this time around and who fancies taking part. The session will be a private function and cost $15 each last time.

Here are the choices:

Rum tasting
Cognac tasting
Stem to Stern wine tasting
Beer tasting
Tequila/Margarita tasting
Cocktail Mixology - This is the favourite so far :-)
Whiskey Tasting

Note - All Dibbers who have voted already just ignore this post, I will be starting a list of who fancies it very soon over there too :thumbsup2

This is a quite nice activity. Write me an DW down for this one. :drinking1

On our first Disney Cruise we did the Wine Tasting offered as a ship activity; had a great time and got me a pin.

For US $ 15 it's really good price, are you sure that's the cost; or is a ByOB thing ? (ByOB: Bring your Own Bottle/Bring your Own Booze)

I'm more of a Beer / Whisky / Red Wine
DW is more of a Vodke / Cocktails / Red Wine

Don't know if it helps on the poll ! :rotfl2:

Today I received from Disney Cruise Line an invitation for the Disney Fantasy, ready to set sail on April 2012. It's a 7 day caribbean (East & West) itinerary. :goodvibes

But, I'm keeping my cool; not panicking, first the Dream, then the Fantasy. :cool1:

Although that first sailing is very tempting considering all the add on that usually come with this kind of cruises. Also, it will be years before another ship comes out, so it's like a last chance thing....

Oh no, I'm looking for excuses to book it.... It's not fair  too many new cruises, so many places to be ...

Got the Dis news letter too with the Fantasy Information. ;)

I know, it's really hard to say no to a little Mouse ! :mickeyjum

2012 vacations are already in motion, and we are planning on being in New Year's Eve on the Dream. pixiedust:

We have a new Fish Extender Captain: Vron. Due to expertice Vron was suggested to take on the Challenge of a DssB & Dibb Fish Extender Exchange.

So, everyone give all the support Vron requires to ensure a great time. pirate:

Regarding Dear Bats, don't worry; she hasn't bailed out, she's still on the boat but very bussy with shore excursions and something to do with more relax time or something like that... :drinking1 :lmao:

:wave2: E=mc2 says that relativily speaking there is very little time left for this cruise to set sail. :teacher:

Today is the 10 months to go day ! :woohoo:

I booked this cruise while on The Magic this past December, 2009 and that was only 10 months ago. So, there is no reason why not to believe that the next 10 months shouldn't pass as fast. :hourglass

Happy 10 Months Disney Mediterranean Cruise Planning. pixiedust:

Wahoo :cool1::dance3::cheer2: Just enough time to do all that cruise organising :thumbsup2

I totally support the Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios Bus Driver. I've have seen really unconfortable situations or very bad behavior from Adults within the parks.

Just like jb99 (Jeff) mentioned in his trip report "Entitelment" and I would add Abuse.

So, Mr. Bus Driver; hopefully everything will turn out for the better; like get transfered to the Disney Cruise Line.

Do feel sorry for the baby getting baned from all Walt Disney's Worlds Parks and Resorts at such a young age. He will have to wait untill he can go by himself to enjoy the Magic (or not go with his parents ever)

Once I saw a woman hit really hard her doughter (about 4 yrs) in the Magic Kingdom and the whole crowd almost linched her. Castmembers saved her; then I read on the Orlando Sentinel (news paper) that chargess were pressed and that she was fasing child abuse and a bunch of other chargess.

I guess that if you really want to enjoy the Magic any where be civilized. Oh, and don't mess with the children or the Castmenbers; The Mouse doesn't like it.

Bad news for all those that are still in the "To make a decision loop"; prices have gone up; at least for this cruise in particular.

A couple of weeks ago, for an inside steroom (2 adults 1 child) on deck 6 with insurance it was quoting at about US $ 3,750 Right now, the same room on same deck it's quoting at US $ 4,314 That's about US $ 600 more; quite a bite. :sad2:

Can't tell about the other weeks.

If this is happening now they will probably continue going up. I hope it doesn't happen the same thing for port activities. pixiedust:

Oh THAT is some GOOD sleuth work there Mr. A!! :thumbsup2 Since I have changed dates more than once & cabin categories more than once I went to have a look-see myself. MY cruise (the one right before yours) has also gone up. The Cat 10A's went up by $220 pp for persons 1 & 2 in the room but I don't think the rate changed for persons 3 & 4. Cat 5C also went up BIG TIME for persons 1 & 2 but not for persons 3 & 4. It went from $1,829 pp to $2,459 pp!! An increase of $630 pp!!! :scared1: Holy Moly!! I guess things are picking up all around!! :thumbsup2 That probably puts my 5C price back to about where it was before they dropped the rates on June 20 'cuz I think it was originally ABOUT $1,200 more than my 5C.

Sharing what I call Nice to Have Shore excursions. This is what we plan on doing; which at the end is very intense, long days, and not so cheap excursions; but, considering the investment on this vacation must make the best of it; who knows when we'll come back to the West Mediterranean region.

At this time all excursions are with Disney:

Villefrench, France: Monaco, Monte Carlo and Ezo - 9 hours - US $ 165 p/adult

La Spezia, Italy: Florence and Pisa - 11 hours - US $ 189 p/adult

Civitavecchia, Italy (Rome): Jumping Back into Eternal Rome (Train) - 11 hours - US 225 p/adult

Naples, Italy: Pompei, Sorrento, Capri - 11 hours - US $ 269 p/adult

Palma, Spain: Mallorca - Could Not find anything on this port within the DCL Web Page, which it's weird because I have seen some shore excursions before. Can anyone please confirm this ? :confused3

We are officially booke on the following hotels: :cool1:

Madrid: Lusso Infanta Hotel: for 5 nights http://www.hotelmajestic.es/

Barcelona: Majestic Hotel: for 4 nights http://www.hotelinfantas.com/index.html

Next things to do: :teacher:

- Book air tickets - I thought I was flying Iberia but TA suggested Air Europa for having better service.

- Train tickets Madrid --> Barceloma http://www.renfe.com/index.html

- One night hotel after cruise in Barcelona

- Finish paying DCL before April, 2011

Well done Manny :banana::banana::banana:

You're way ahead of me :confused3 I still have flights to book and hotels :scared1:

Must get a move on next week and get things booked :woohoo:

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'awl's neighborhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of The Thriller.......Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Long Live the King of Pop. Have a Happy and Safe Halloween :maleficen

And if you have got the time (13 minutes) this baby is 100 years old: :rotfl2:
