Ethics and large corporations

Again, that is not what you do. You post statements that you claim are universally true, and then when you are called out on those so-called facts, you backtrack and say that it was just your opinion. You claim to be in the TV world, so I would think that you would understand that facts and opinions are not the same.

I am more than willing to accept that people may not agree with my opinions. experiences and facts of what lead me to those conclusions.
Of course nothing is universally true. I am sorry you feel my trying to explain my opinions in a civil way is considered backtracking.
We probably should move on.

If you stopped stating your opinion in a manner that implied it covered everything, people probably would be quite happy to move on.

Here are my thoughts, yes corporations are responsible. But in general we worry way too much about covering our bases, and in general we should worry more about doing a good job. If someone is injured at Disneyworld, it does not matter how many signs and waivers they print, Disney is paying. Instead of all the do not ride signs they should focus on employee training.

My wife worked 30 years at city government, they spent 90% of their time trying not to be responsible for anything. You wonder what they were even doing there. They would go so far as firing people but would not tell they why, just you are fired.

On the other hand my daughter works at the corporate office of forever21. They essentially have no mid management at all, they just go for it. They tend to do something really stupid about twice a year, but just apologize and move on. And they are very succesful, because they move very fast and have very low overhead

The inability of some corporations to move quickly is amazing, especially if they are in industries that move quickly. I have never worked in the public sector, but a few friends who have say it is rare to have anyone fired, they just get promoted out to another office or agency.

Its the part time employees they can fire, and if you have a job where you actually do something, like a lifeguard they like to make that part time. The full time people are mostly management, and they have about 7 layers of managers, they have management levels to supervise other managers. Those are our city dollars at work.
