We're getting ready to leave for our first trip to HH next week, so we're getting our packing organized. Any tips for things that are a must to bring to HH? I have gotten so many wonderful tips on the DISboards for those little extras to bring to WDW and DCL that have made our vacations both smoother and better! Any advice for packing for HH? We are driving so we are pretty flexible as to space in the minivan. Should I pack DD's little bicycle or just rent there? We have a 2BDR and a studio for me DH, DD5, DS3, Grandma, Poppy, Brother and brand new sister in law.

Thanks for the advice.

Since you are driving, a crockpot might be handy.

Before you leave for the beach, you could start chipped ham and barbecue sauce for lunch or for dinner- carrots, potatoes, chuck roast and beef broth, or boneless chicken, half a jar of salsa and a little water, all cooked on low, unless of course you plan to eat out for every meal.

I like the idea of having something easy ready when everyone returns hot and tired from the beach, without someone having to return for solo kitchen duty.

You might want to bring the little bicycle if you have room -- they sometimes run out. But don't worry about it if it doesn't fit in.

There have been several threads in the past about what to bring -- but some of the "essentials" when we go are beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels; a tablecloth for the picnic table on your porch; BBQ utensils (there are grills scattered throughout the resort); raincoats and/or umbrellas (like WDW, there are often afternoon showers); bug spray and citronella candles; rainy day activities (in case those afternoon showers last longer); and all the usual stuff you normally bring to WDW, like coffee filters, salt & pepper, etc.

Have a wonderful time!!!!!

Not exclusive to HH trips, but when I go to DVC, I plan on taking a dish cloth and an extra dish towel. I dislike the sponge that they provide for washing dishes. Have a great trip!

I don't know if I would call this "essential", but my DS9 sure loved the kite that my BIL had brought on our trip to HH. We were there in February and the winds were great for kite flying on the beach...it kept my son entertained for quite a while. :flower:

Enjoy your trip!

Couple of minor items:

~ Extra laundry soap for the washer & dryer.

~ A pair of scissors! Everytime we needed to open a package at HH we ended up stabbing ourselves with a knife. :rotfl2:

The rooms have just about everything you need. There is a Piggly Wiggly grocery very close by if you need food items. They have a discount card. Go to the service desk and they will give you a temporary card to use while you are on vacation! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We always bring a nightlight for the bedrooms. They can be rather dark in the middle of the night. Nothing like waking up with a "bang" in the middle of the night. That little hopechest bench in the master bedroom gets my DH every time -- nightlight of not! :confused3

Thanks for the great ideas! I like the idea of BBQing and a crock pot!
Thanks guys!
