ESPN zone - is it worth the hassle?

We have a very sports minded family - VERY - considering ESPN on the day we do MGM. Will start early at MGM, then ESPN zone then end at MK. Wondering is it worth it or is this more hassle than its worth. We will be using Disney buses. My other option is MGM, late lunch at Sci Fi then hop to MK.

We really like it and we aren't even that sports minded.

I am definitely taking my brothers when we go with them in December.

We typically do it coming from MGM and then head to Epcot or grab a Boardwalk bus to wherever we are going.

oh, didn't realize it was close enough to walk. How far of a walk - 6 in our party and a stroller.

You can also boat very easlie to Espn from MGM . Then walk to Epcot and the monorail or just walk through BW and get the MK bus.

The walk from MGM is not that bad 20 min or so with a stroller but I would hop on a boat.

I agree, take the boat from MGM.

I really don't agree with the advice to walk through Epcot to the Monorail. That's more trouble than its worth. YOu have to go through bag check at Epcot, go through the turnstiles, walk from WS through FW, go out the turnstiles, walk up the long and winding platform. Wait for Monorail. Go down another long and winding Platform at TTC, then up another platform onto a second Monorail to MK.

Just take the boardwalk bus to the MK. The buses to the parks mid day are usually pretty empty.

ESPN is a lot of fun and a great atmosphere for watching sports but it can get very crowded. You can just walk into the bar and you can get food at the bar, but if you want a table you have to stand outside in a line and the wait can be long.

Last October we had a bunch of OSU alum and family who went to ESPN to watch a game on the big split screen. The entire room was filled with OSU fans (glad we were not there for the BCS Championship) It was a little crazy watching multiple games at once - but most of the people loved it.

The food was another story - beer was great, the nachos were pretty good, burgers were passable but the rest - forget it. Next time we';; stick with beer and nachos.

Some of the stores throughout the parks also sell alot of the ESPN gear. and in downtown disney Mickeys Sports Store ( i forget the name) also sells alot of espn things.

I disagree about the food. We all loved what we had. The wings were very good. Just keep in mind that its sports bar food, not V&A.

Certain days of the week are busier than others depending on if there's a major sporting event to watch.

Lots of good advise here. I just want to add that I would definitely give it a shot. IMO, they have the best nachos anywhere!

We usually walk over for lunch on our Epcot day, but you can do it from MGM too. If its a nice day out I would walk, but if its very hot, I'd take the boat.

Be aware that it's not an ESPN Zone, it's an ESPN Club. It does not have the large arcade that ESPN Zones have.

absolutely love the ESPN Club and it us a must do every trip!! My family of 4 is very sports oriented and very competitive to begin though!! The food is awesome- we always orders the nachos- yummy!!!!!!!!
