I am currently planning my Disney wedding this coming October. I could not continue to plan a local wedding! I was going bonkers! The money it would have cost would have bankrupt us! Rhode Island may be beautiful for a wedding but it'll cost ya!
So Boardwalk Resort it will be! Thankfully! I was planning my honeymoon at WDW so whats an extra day!?
But my concern lies here.....the free tickets. It seemed great to not have to buy 10 days of park tickets with park hopper for the both of us. But in essence it has gotten very confusing booking the trip.
I would now be concidered a passholder? what?!?! this is all new to me? Has anyone else held there wedding at Disney World and used their annual passes on the honeymoon? Help?! Info appreciated!

Not quite sure what your question is but having the annual pass included with the Escape is great. We are planning on activating ours the day we arrival, which is 2 days before our wedding, and using them through our 7 night stay. Also, because we have annual passes we are also getting the Tables in Wonderland card for discounts on dining. Disney has not been as generous with the Passholder's discounts on resort stays this year, but that's another perk of having the annual passes.

Hope that helps!

my question lies here........the front desk told me i need to have the tickets in my hand when i check in. which i find slightly discouraging because i believe that means i must arrive from the airport take the bus to magic kingdom, take the monorail to the wedding pavilion, pick up the tickets and then return to my resort and check in. seriously. this is what the lady from disney told me last night. what?!?!?!?

Are you using an AP rate at the hotel? If so, yes you need the actual AP not the voucher that DFTW sends you in order to get the discount and you'll need to present it at check in. If you're not using an AP rate at your hotel, I see no reason why you would need to show it at check in.

Eta: DFTW mails you the voucher (you don't have to pick it up) but you do need to go to guest services at a park or DTD to exchange the voucher for the AP.

The vouchers will be sent to you by mail so you only need to go to guest services to activate them. This is only if you are booking your room with the passholders discount.

sorry but since you asking about AP, does anyone know if you are allowed to give your AP to someone else? Does it have to be the bride and groom that uses them?

just got off the phone with disney! they will have the passes waiting for me at the front desk! thank god! i couldnt imagine having to run all around doing that. but she said people do. absurd!

Are they leaving the vouchers at the front desk for you? Or the actual APs? Because from another thread it seems questionable whether APs can be activated at the front desk. Just wanted you to be clear on what's going to be waiting for you. But just to clarify most couple receive their vouchers by mail and then go to guest relations to activate them. While it may seem "absurd" to you, it is routinely done.

i had a wedding consultant who was ill informed. what was "adsurd" to me was the route in which she thought i had to go in order to activate the vouchers. it was insane! but she was wrong. and i can relax.

It does sound very complicated - we aren't using our for our wedding trip as we already got 45% off the room and by buying our tickets (around £500) we got free dining (worth about £1,200).

Plus this year we can only afford to get to WDW once but in 2012/13 we may be able to squeeze 2 trips in to get the most of the passes :thumbsup2

We received our vouchers back when I first booked the wedding and submitted our deposit. We did not use them this for our trip in Dec/Jan or even our trip in Feb as we received free dining. So we will keep them for another time. Geez, Guess I should ask the question "Do they ever expire?" :confused3 I don't want to miss out on using them if they only last so long.
