Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Hey everyone :wave2:

Well we officially have snow here, and lots of it :cheer2: . It started yesterday and by the evening it had laid quite a bit, then when we woke up there was loads. Nick and I have been having lots of fun building a snowman and doing snow angels (well I did, he looked at me like I was mad ). Its causing quite a few problems though. In London most public transport has stopped so a lot of people can't get to work and hospitals are having to bring in more staff. Most airports have all the planes grounded so loads of people are stranded, and lots of major roads are closed. Apparently its the most snow we have had in 18 years and its suppose to continue snowing.

Katie did fabulous at the dentist - I was proud of her!!!!
Stephanie didn't get great news though - the dentist said that I can take her for a consultation for braces. We knew these were in her future, but I was suprised with so soon. The dentist said that it all depends on when her baby teeth are gone, and she has only 2 left to loose, and they'll be out in the next 6 months. So, after her ear surgery, which isn't scheduled yet, we'll have to have her fitted for braces - she won't be happy!!!:sad2:

cheeringmom - I"m sorry to hear that Lauren in sick :guilty: I hope she feels better soon pixiedust:

Ariel - Have fun with all the snow:) I, personally, am not a fan of snow, so you can have all of ours too :teeth: Seriously though, I hope the weather doesn't get to bad for you - stay safe and warm!!!!

Well, I must go back to work (it's so cold in this store, and it's hard to work when you are freezing :cold: ).
Have a great rest of the day!!

Slo ~ Thanks, its a lot of fun. We don't get a lot here, and it very rarely lays so its exciting when we get proper stuff. I can imagine it could get annoying though if you have it all the time.

I'm glad you are enjoying it:)
Our "World News" was showing pictures of London, and was talking to a reporter there. I was shocked when I heard that London had no snowplows  Do you have any snowplows in your town?

The snow does get annoying here after awhile - in fact, I'm going to be getting about 7" today/tonight:sad: I get so tired of shoveling it, my DH gets tired of driving in it, my business suffers because of it - I just hate it!!!!! My kids love it though, so I'm happy for them when it falls, so they can go play in it :)

Ariel, even our rinky dink paper had a story about you all getting pounded by snow.

SLO and Geffric, you've had enough!

Only a sec. Lauren is still sick. Have a great day!

Morning..

The boys have late start today.. that is where the school starts later allowing the teachers time for planning and meetings. It is instead of teacher days where the kids are off the entire day.. Anyway, they then have a shorten schedule.. so Eric asked if I could take him and his gf to Denny's for breakfast as they are having FREE grand slam breakfast. So i said sure and took them their before school..

well every free loader in Palatine was there.. but it was fun..

Offically stating I am sick of SNOW!! We are supposed to be getting 2-4 inhes more..and SLO is supposed to have 6-12 inches more.. BLECH!!!

Be back soon..

We are having snow again---not much yet. Monday had highs in the 60s and overnight---flurries. Tuesday evening/night---light snow. We are suppose to have warm temps again in a few days. :upsidedow Wacky Winter

6 weeks until spring. :goodvibes

You can say that again!!!!

I am very happy to say though, that I had no snow yesterday - it all went east:cheer2: I feel bad for those people though, because they got totally hammered. My friend lives out that way, and I'm going to have to make sure that him and his family are doing okay.

It's very cold here though - a whomping 2 degrees!!! :cold:

Well, I'm off to make Steph and lunch - have a good day!!!

Wow. It is a brrrrr cold 28 degrees in the panhandle of Florida today. ugh. Lauren is going in late today. She is feeling fine but has a dry cough that is driving her crazy. Will wait until her meds take affect. She hasn't had a fever but just this cough is driving us both crazy. It may even be allergies??? Will try Clariton tonight. She was on that last spring b/c of allergies.

Evening all,
Well yesterday we had a snow day so I didn't go in to work. However I thought that would happen so I spent the day doing school stuff. It was great as it was things I would have had to do after school and during our week off in just over a weeks time, so at least now I have had it done. We have more snow forcast overnight so I am hoping for another snow day tomorrow!!

Well guess what happened at school today? Yes, yet another of my lessons inspected. I was graded good again, but I am so bored of the whole process!! Oh well, at least they might leave me alone for a few more weeks now!!

DanaUK - I am glad that you were graded a good .. hopefully they will leave you alone for a LOONg time..

I saw the snow you go.. that is amazing!! Prettysoon you will look like us.. snow covered everything.

SLO - I saw that the snow missed you.. :grouphug: yeah!! Now if I would just warm up for a while..

We have another snow day!! All the schools in my town have shut, Petes school is shut and several roads are closed! We had about 6 inches over night and have snow forecast for the while day!!But my bunnies are having fun playing in it again!!

cheeringmom - I"m glad Lauren is feeling better :) I hope that cough goes away soonpixiedust: I get those type of coughs alot, and I hate it!!!! In fact, in the winter I always have cough drops in my purse and every coat pocket. Can Lauren take cough drops to school? Stephanie can, but she has to take them to the nurses office, and use them there.

geffric - the warmer temps are coming :sunny:

Danauk - Congrats on getting graded good :cheer2:
**That snow you got is amazing!!! I'm glad your bunnies are enjoying it. Be careful and stay safe!!!

Well, I'm off to get ready for work - I have to leave early to make a frame delivery.
Have a good day!!!

DanaUK - glad the bunnies are having fun.. snow days are fun. glad you and Pete had a good day.

SLO- it is supposed to be warmer tomorrow but right now it is -13 with the wind chill.. bbbrrrr.

NC Belle and CMOM- hope it is warmer today for you..

Good morning all, Pete and I have yet another snow day. It snowed over night again and all schools in our town (4 secondary schools and 10 primary) are shut. Yesterday there were not busses, taxies or post and I think it will be the same today. I could really have done with going in today aswell as we are going to get so far behind with our work. The forecast for the weekend is freezing temps to -4 over night then more heavy snow on Sunday and Monday! I think we are going to try and brave a trip to the supermarket later as we need supplies. It is only 5 minutes down the road with no hills so we should be OK if we take it slow. I'm going to pop around to my neighbours in a minute to see if they want any supplies getting too, they are retired and Brenda had her hips and knee replaced earlier lasy year and Richard only got out of hospital on Monday after a colapse (not sure what happened, he is 75 but doedn't look over 50 and a former athlete so very fit but he just colapsed 3 times.)

Geffric How much snow do you guys still have? I can't believe you guys cope so well with it! I think the problem around here was that the councils didn't have enough grit and salt to prep the roads and we don't have enough snow ploughs either!!

Slo How is your shop doing after christmas? Oh and how is the employee you were having issues with?

Everyone else, hi!! I hope you all have a warm day!!

I'm feeling so guilty lately, because I have had no desire to get up and workout. I'm so bored with my workout videos, and I because of this, I have no excitement to get up. I look forward to when I can go out and walk again - I always loved this!!!!

Danauk - Enjoy your continued snow days:) Do you have to (school) make-up these snow days into the summer? Stephanie has to make up all her snow days, fog days, and flood days (she's missed alot of school this year) into the summer. I'm going to have the pool to myself for awhile:beach: Good for me, but not for her:sad2:
**We still have a decent amount of snow here. The girls played outside alot this past weekend, and built a couple of snowmen. They are all going to melt though this weekend, because we are going to hit 50 degrees tomorrow :sunny:
**My employee came in yesterday, and she acted perfectly normal, like nothing ever happened. I would like to see her get her act together, because I'm a big believer of giving people a chance, but I"m not going to wait forever either. So now, we'll take each day as it comes.
**I'm very pleased to say that the store is staying steady after Christmas:) I always have something to do, which is great!!! This time last year, I was very bored and had nothing to do.

geffric - Warmer weather :sunny: = :cheer2:

Well, I gotta go make Stephanie a lunch - have a good day!!!

 Good morning Taglikins!

I've been shy about posting regarding weather...didn't want to make you all mad at me. So I won't mention how I spent time this weekend on Starbucks patio reading my book, or how I was pulling weeds on Sunday. Nope...won't mention that at all.

Just plugging along here, trying to pay bills and save up for vacations. Nothing exciting to report.

.

ibouncetoo what I would give for sun right now!! We have 10cms of snow in our garden. We went to the supermarket earlier today and the usual 5 minute car ride took 45 mins!! We had to try 3 routes back as lorries had jack knifed because of the snow! Not good.

Slo No we don't have to make up the days, and we still get paid for them!! This is very unusual though, in the 11 years I have been a teacher I can count on one had how many snow days we have had off, and 3 of those were this week! Like I said, the very, very rarely happens!!

Chicago Area ( SMSA) is very used to lots of snow and is very prepared. We all know how to drive on snow and ice and the towns have enough salt/plows. Since it happens every year, Chicago is prepared.

Hope things are warming up for you. We have a BIG warm up ... today it got into the 30's and the snow/ice is melting. I have a huge block of ice at the end of the driveway. When the sewer backs up, then the water goes down the street and freezes at the end of the driveway. Anyway, when Geoff got home from school today he took the pick ax and broke up all the ice so it will melt.

Today I worked on Eric's NHS application. Dh's birthday is today.Last night I made Chicken Jambalaya from my new american heart assn cookbook. It wasn't too bad - read that as it was good but I won't make it again. Scott said he expected it be spicier.. but it is getting used to eating foods without salt or fat. Since I am home I am cooking/baking and making thigs from scratch again ( did that when I was home and the kids were little) But this time with a healthier twist. Low fat/ low carbs/no salt.

Although i did make brownies/banana bread/pumpkin bread and cheesecake.. so I guess it is good that we are eating partially healthy so we can pig out on desserts..

Hi all - Just a quick hello. I have been totally out of touch.

I just go back home after spending a week moving my mom out here. There was a lot of work in Texas - but everything went as well as could be expected.

Mom is in our home. She was too tired to check out her new house. But she is visiting nicely with Lily (Elise is already in bed). I have sent her pictures - but she has never been inside. So tomorrow I will get to show mom her new home.
