Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Thanks Slo, for my new signature I thought I would go with a picture I had taken of the park icon from each Disney park I have been to. Then seen as I got a new tag I thought I would change my avitar to one I had taken whilst sitting on the patio of the Fontana bar at the Bellagio hotel whilst watching the dancing fountains. I wasn't drinking vintage champagne though at the time, I was drinking a mojito!!

Thanks for asking about me! Things are great. It's been really hectic with all the training but I start for real tomorrow. I'm excited but pretty nervous. My roomies are really cool. A few of them have never been to Disneyworld so we've been having fun checking out the parks and all the good food. Thanks for the well wishes :)

Thats ok hun, I hope you have lots of fun. Make sure you check in and tell us how its going regularly, I wanted to hear all about it. And you should post a picture so I know who to look out for when I am there :thumbsup2

Ariel, do you watch HGTV? I love that channel. You should check out Rate my Space online and get a ton of ideas there. You can even post pics of your troubled rooms and people will give you advice. Just a thought. We want to redo our kitchen and would love to have Candace Olsen come in and do it but that is a dream.....she is awesome
No I don't watch it, I don't even know if we have it over here. I will see if I can find it though, thanks for the information. We really want to paint our living room 2 colors but aren't really sure which walls we do in each color so need some inspiration from somewhere. Thanks again :goodvibes

It's snowing again in the Chicago area.
I think I can speak for both geffric and I when I say - "snow snow go away, never come another day!!!"

Danauk - Your signature idea was a great one:thumbsup2 I love creative signatures!!!

Ariel - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and workout (not in the mood) - have a great day!!!

:beach: sunny thoughts for you guys. I know how miserable that much snow is!!

and I hear ya about the workout. It is only raining here and I am in a blah mood.

I figure that shoveling snow is my workout today.. I shoveled ( not snowblowed) my drive and my neighbors. So I did 1 and 1/2 hours or so of snow shoveling so I'm done for the day..

As POOH BEAR said..

the more it snows tiddely pom
the more it goes tiddely pom
on snowing

and no one knows tiddely pom
how cold my toes tiddely pom
are growing

or:

"it is snowing still" said Eeyore gloomily
"So it is" said Pooh

"and freezing"

"Is it?"
"Yes" said Eeyore "However, we haven't had an earthquke lately."

Well off to the grocery store for a few things ( I am going to walk) and then to make Chili..

Well today I have actually had a really good day at work. We went on a field trip to Sulgrave Manor and the kids all got dressed up in Tudor costumes for the day and learned a lot about the Tudor period.

Slo I love my wii fit too. What is the Jillian Michaels game? I also have the wii fitness coach which seems good, a better workout than the wii fit.

Gerrfic I'd hate to have to have to move all than snow. How long do you have until the snowy season is over and the warmer weather starts?

Well I better go, I need to sort out all the pictures I took on the trip today so we can look at them in class tomorrow and do some work with them.

Seen as you guys have just sworn in your 44th president I thought I would share with you guys some pictures from where I went today. The house we went to was the ancestoral home of your 1st president! George Washingtons Great-Great-Grandfather was twice the mayor of my town.

So the house (built in the Tudor period c 1550).

So I hope you all enjoyed your English/American history lesson for today!!

We were predicted to get a massive snow today as well...a whole TWO INCHES!!! Oh it looked impressive blowing around in the air but when the smoke (or snow) cleared...it was a whole lot of nothing. And they closed schools!!!

You know I've lived in the south my entire life and I'll never understand its fear of winter weather...

....just stopping by to say....

OMG......"LOST" just gets better and better.

I have to gloat for a second.
I've been using Aldis for my main groceries for a awhile now, and yesterday I was so proud of my purchases. I bought a ton of stuff and my total was only $60.91:cheer2: I couldn't believe my ears when the cashier told me - I was so happy!!!! My days of paying to much at Jewel (a local large grocery chain) are over!!! I will still need to go to Jewel for many things that Aldis doesn't have, but for the main stuff - I'm done!! I actually haven't stepped a foot in Jewel since NYE when I picked up Kevin's bday cake. If you have an Aldi's by you, than you need to give it a try. If you have any questions about any of their products, please ask me, and I'll give you my honest opinion.

Danauk - I'm glad you had a good day with your students, and thank you so much for sharing those photos:) . I would love to see a place like that. I'm so impressed with how nice the house looks after all these years - it doesn't look as old as it is (at least from the photos is doesn't). Your town is really old - how old is it? My town is celebrating 100 years next year, so our town is not nearly as old as yours. I would love to live in a town, like yours, with all that history.

PK - How frustrating that the school system jumped the gun about shutting down schools. But I'm glad you all didn't get the bad that was predicted for you. About a month ago the weather people really put the fear in us about a huge winter storm coming, and everyone around here was at the stores and preparing, and in the end, it was nothing like what you had. I didn't do all this preparing - I have enough food in this house to last a month:rotfl:

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I'm off to get ready for work, so I can get to work early today - I still have lots to do :thumbsup2
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Slo Our town in mentioned in the Doomsday book of 1066 so it is at least 1000 years old!! The Castle near my house has walls that are over 1000 years old so this area is, well, old!!

Danauk---great pictures. There are some Southern Maryland houses that have kitchens like in those pictures. I'm thinking of the homes built in the early 1630's. I have only seen Mt. Vernon once that I think it was a bit more modern that his forefather's home.

Poor NC Beast is covering Saturday (he's making up for last week's snow day). He didn't want to give up pto yet.

Slo---I think I heard that the company that owns Trader Joe's may also own Aldi's. Aldi's is not convient to us, but we get pretty good deals from several different chain grocery stores and sometimes Target has a good deal.

I had more employee issues yesterday.
That same employee that made me mad last time did it again yesterday. She calls me 3 hours before she has to work and says that her mom made her a doctors appt, and she can't work:eek:. I was so mad, because I had a appt. with my accountant last night, and now I couldn't go:headache:. I told her that she only works 9 hours a week, and she never works on MWF - why couldn't her mom make an appt. for one of those nights?. She does have medical issues, but she isn't "sick". She said her mom knew she was working, but made the appt anyway. I was SO mad:mad:!!! Her mom trying calling her off once before, so her DD could "catch up" on homework after being sick, and I told her NO WAY!!! I told her that when I hired her DD that she must be here when scheduled, unless she has the flu or an uncontrolable situations - like a death in the family. Calling off to do homework is unacceptable, and she has a responsibility to be here, or she should not have a job - she did come in that night, and said she didn't know why her mom did that, because she barely had any work (I knew she wouldn't, or shouldn't, because she had the whole weekend prior to do the work - I felt that if she didn't do it, then that's not my problem). Since then, there's been other times that something like this has happened, and it always happens when I have plans. Plus, there's been other incidents where she's come in late, or didn't come in at all. I told her this is her last chance, and if this happens again, then she needs to look for another job:mad:!!!!!

Danauk - Your town is over a 1000 years old?! That's pretty awesome!!! It makes me town look like a baby:rotfl:

Belle - I've never been to Trader Joes, but I would like to go in one someday. The closest one to me is about 45 minutes away, and when I'm out that way, I never think to go in. I agree about Target having some good deals, but I'm trying hard to shop in small stores, because when I go in large stores for just certain items, I always walk out with something I didn't go in there for, because it's on sale, and I don't want to pass up on the deal. When I go into a super small store, like Aldi, I don't have that temptation to over buy. I also buy my lunchmeat at a local butcher for the same reason. I know it takes discipline to not overbuy, but when you go into a large store for bread, and you see that cereal is 10 fo $10 or other deals like this, I almost feel stupid for NOT buying it, because it's such a great deal. So, I'm taking myself out of the situation, so this doesn't happen. Can you tell that I'm really trying to save money:upsidedow

Well, I'm must go get ready for work, because I have to go see my accountant at 9am now - Katie is not happy!!!:sad2: I promised her yesterday morning that she could sleep in today, and now she can't. I hope my employee, and her mother, understand that she is not only disrupting my life, but other people's too.

Well, I gotta run - have a good day!!

NCBelle The 1630's is just after the Tudor period in England (the Tudor period ended in 1603 when Queen Elizabeth 1 died, she had no children so her cousin King James of Scotland became King of England too, until then England and Scotland had different royal families.)

Slo I'm sorry you are having employee issues, if her mum is going to make excuses for her then that is not setting her up for a good work ethic in the future. Many towns in England are over 1000 years old. Our village is a little special as it is a royal town. Queen Elizabeth 1st used to stay at the castle around the corner from my house and she gave the town the royal charter. The official document signed by her is in a display case in great hall of the castle which my kids find amazing.

Well I'm so glad it is Friday, this evening we are going out to a pub quiz with one of my work friends and her husband. It is quite good fun!! Tomorrow we are going up to Leeds to see my parents. Pete has to fix my dads computer so I am going shopping with my mum. I'm looking forward to going shopping in the big city, I miss doing that where I live now.

Have a nice evening everyone.

wow 1000 years old!!! that is amazing.. of course nothing around here is that old.. as this area was Indian territory until the 1800's. Have fun at the pub thing..

SLO - that is the pits with your employee.. I can't imagine a Mom of a teen calling them in for homework..

NCB - sorry that Beast has to work Sat.

Well I went to the store today to pick up a few things and the cat missed me. she is getting used to my being home.. well at least until i go back to work...

I'm SO glad it's the weekend!!!!:)

My employee is suppossed to work today, and I'm curious if she'll come in. If she doesn't come in, then she's done, if she does come in, then I'm hoping she really tries to be a better employee. I guess we'll soon find out what happens. Thanks for your posts yesterday - it's always good to know that I have friends here!!!:goodvibes

Danauk - Have fun with your parents today. I hope you find some good bargains while shopping with your mom :)

geffric - I agree that calling off for homework is ridiculous!!! I told her mom that when I hired her DD that I told her she must always come to work unless she's sick (like vomiting, not a cold), a death in the family, or any other uncontrollable circumstance. I would think this woman would want to teach her DD about having a good work ethic, but apparently not - it's just not right!!!!!:sad2:

Well, I best jump in the shower and get ready for my day - lots of errands to run today.
Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning everyone,
I had a nice day with my parents yesterday, I didn't do that much shopping, just got the things I needed. I had to get a birthday present for my nephew. I can't believe he is a year old already!! I got him some Finding Nemo bath toys from the Disney store!!

Well today and for the rest of the week the weather forecast is snow, snow and more snow. The first flakes are just falling now and hopefully it won't be too bad where we are. My parents are at the house they are doing up on the coast and the forecast for there is 20cms of snow. The are going there today before the snow starts and taking lots of food and supplies with them!!

Slo Did your employee turn up for work? I hope so and that you got all your errands done.

Well I better get on with my school work. I am on a course on Tuesday so I need to prepare the work for the supply teacher to do and then I am being observed again for my maths lesson on Wednesday so I need to plan that really well.

Have a nice Sunday everyone.

I hope you all had a good Saturday!!! :goodvibes

I couldn't get over how many people were out and about yesterday.
We went to the post office, and it was busier than Christmas time.
We went to the bank, and we waited in a huge line at the drive-thru.
We went to the library, and could barely find a parking place - it was packed.
Lots and lots of people!!!!!

At the library I got Pirates of the Caribbean @ World's End soundtrack, for my car, and I love it!!!! I also got the soundtrack to The Princess Diaries 2, for my car - I'm looking forward to listening to it :) I really wanted to get myself Harry Potter, but I don't have time to read it right now - maybe next time:thumbsup2

Today I have a lot to do around the house - dusting, vaccumming, and some laundry. I would also like to continue going through things for the garage sale we are having in the spring. You would not believe the amount of boxes that I have now that are filled  So, I'll keep myself busy today:thumbsup2

Danauk - I"m glad you had a nice day with your parents:goodvibes
**Yes, she did show up for work, but according to my other employee, she didn't seem to rattled about what happened. She had her turnabout dance last night, and she more worried about her acrylic nails than anything else. She told my other employee that I told her she could do light jobs to protect her nails - this made me do this:rotfl2: :rotfl: Never did I say this!!! I have a feeling that she is not going to be with me much longer:sad2:

Well, I better go and start thinking about breakfast.
Have a great day today!!!

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!!!!!

I sure hope that little fella predicts us to have spring more sooner than later!!!!

The girls have 8am dentist appointments this morning - so no working out today. This is Katie's first time at the dentist, and I'm a little nervous. She has shown alot of fear about going to the dentist, and this is why I've waited so long to take her. I wanted her to be old enough to reason with, in case she gets to nervous while she is in the dentist chair. I'll have to let you all know how she did later.

Well, I best get ready so I can get Katie up and ready - she won't be in a good mood this morning at all. Not only am I waking her up early, but it's because of going to the dentist - yep, she won't be happy:sad2:

Have a good day!!!

Good morning all. I hope the little rat says shorter winter for you all too!

No time to chat this am. Lauren is home sick and she likes me to sit with her. She just has a miserable cold. Ugh.:guilty:

Anybody watch the Super Bowl? what did you think of the commercials? not very funny this year. There were a few! TTFN
