Geffric and I are having some very brutal cold weather in our area Today we are having a high of -5 to -1 Stephanie has no school today, and I'll be curious on if she'll have school tomorrow.


Yesterday we got a decent amount of school too. I didn't post yesterday because I was outside shoveling my long driveway twice. When we all got home from work, you couldn't even tell I shoveled, and Kevin had to snowblow. All this snow is making the temps feel even colder yet.


BB - What Lily said is so funny!!!! I love how kids come up with things like that

geffric - Happy Anniversary to you and your DH

cheeringmom - I've always heard how a ruptured appendix is terrible, just terrible!!!! I'm so glad your DD is better now, and it's so sad on all she went through when it happened I understand how she probably misses it, because I know how much I miss running, but had to stop due to foot problems, and then knee problems. It's easy to deal with stopping something because you just wanted to quit, but when you HAD to quit due to something beyond your control, it is quite depressing

Morning from the frozen Chicagoland..

today is high of -3 and that is real temp with the windchill it is more like -20 or so.. It was very cold waiting for the train this am.. -9.. and then walking accross the bridge to DT.. BBRRR!! I wore jeans today and a warm jacket.. no lady clothes for me today it is just too cold..

SLO - my kids have finals today so off to school they go... but then they are off for 4 days..

According to Kevin's weather station (his new toy) it is.............
-17.8 degrees outside



Stephanie has another day off school, which I'm sure she'll be thrilled about
Yesterday, Stephanie and I really took advantage of her day off and got 2/3 of a health project done that's due on Tuesday. She wasn't happy about it initially, but she is very happy now that I forced her to do this, because now she won't have to worry about it all weekend.


Today I am only working until 1:30pm because my highschool employee offered to come today at that time (initially she had a 1/2 day today, but I'm sure she's off school now). I took her up on the offer so I could go home and get Stephanie's room ready to paint this weekend, and to get the laundry room ready for my new washing machine. So, I'm looking forward to short week day today


Well, I gotta go get ready for work.
I'm so off schedule, because I've been staying in bed longer. If I didn't have Sophie, I would still get up early, but I just can't bring myself to take her out at 5:30am in this cold weather. It's so much easier when it's daylight - I don't know why, but it is

YEP!! Ohare is at -17 degrees real temp not wind chill.. the wind chill is like -35.. BBBBRRRRR

Luckily I am working from home today.. and kids are done with finals so no school for them but Eric and friends went snow boarding at devil head in WI.. real temp is -23..

Hey everyone, I haven't been around for a while, I hope everyone is ok Can anyone fill me in on what I have missed?

I have been pretty busy lately, Nick and I are trying to get some of our house decorated so have stuff everywhere. We have so much stuff and our still trying to find places for our Christmas gifts . It was also Nick's birthday on Sunday so I took him to London for 4 days. We watched a couple of shows, did some shopping, ate at some nice places and generally had a great time. Plus I am trying to get everything sorted for our holiday, only 99 days to go today. I am so excited

Me either, right now it is about 3 with a windchill of about -15 or more, it is still snowing like crazy out too, I keep telling the wife we need to move to Orlando; I think this winter will only help my case.

I had to break out my parka today (were in the 20s in the afternoon---expect low of 9 or lower overnight with temps to go into hopefully 40s).

Jessie has a cold so I have been spoiling her some the past couple of days. She seems to be better today...but, one ear may have an infection.

I am happy for my Aunt. She just got married to her boyfriend of 4 years (eloped). They started dating after losing their spouses. Both of them were married for 40 years. Both were caregivers to their ill spouses for many years.

It is nice to see them find happiness at this point in their lives.

BlueBayou---Congrats to your aunt! NC Beast's mom's step-sister is like in her 80s and has a younger (maybe in his 60s/70s) boyfriend. They have no engagement or marriage plans, but they are great together.

Stephanie's room is ready for paint
Yesterday afternoon Stephanie and I got everything picked up, and all furniture away from the wall. Kevin got everything taped up, and the border pulled off. Stephanie's new room is on it's way!!!!!


Today while Kevin is painting, I need to get the laundry room ready for my new washing machine. I have to move alot of things out in order for the Sears guys to get the old machine out, and the new machine in. I"m so excited to get my new machine, because I have so much laundry to do. I'm so glad I was pretty caught up when the machine pooped out, or I would be in a lot of trouble.


Tonight I am going to The Chamber of Commerce dinner/dance. I am going alone, because Kevin needs to stay home with the girls. I'm not staying long, becuase I want to get home in case Kevin has any calls. So I will go, eat, and leave


Well, I should eat and get this day started - I have alot on my list.

Hi everyone. I know I haven't been around much lately. Life is just so crazy, even with both kids in school. But I had to stop by to shout

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!

Yup, we have plans to head back in October - 10/25-11/4. I think this is the longest stretch (4 1/2 months) we've gone without having any Disney trips planned in years. Ahhhh, it feels so good to know when we're returning "home."

Today Ian had his group observation at the private school we're trying to get him into - OF's alma mater. I hope it doesn't mean anything, but he was the only child I saw that didn't come out with a folder/project in hand. Now we just wait, and wait, and wait to hear if he got in. I think they said the letters will go out March 13.
