Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

I got alot done yesterday.
I worked in the girls playroom almost all afternoon, and I got alot thrown away, put away, and set aside for the garage sale. The room is not done though, there's alot more to go through right before the garage sale. There are toys that I want to sell that are to big for boxes, so they will have to stay in the room until May. Then after the garage sale I will be able to do some more rearranging in the room, which will be great!!!!:thumbsup2

I also cleaned out the laundry room yesterday, which felt really good. If you haven't looked behind your washing machine in awhile, you will be shocked at what you will find:scared: The washing machine we had came with the house, so who knows when or if the past people ever cleaned:scared: I felt like I needed to take another shower after I was done cleaning that area - NASTY!!!! So, I rushed to get all that cleaned, because the machine was suppossed to come between 3:45pm - 5:45pm. They called in the afternoon and said that they were running 1 1/2 - 2 hours late - we weren't happy:sad2: So I went to church and my dinner/dance, and when I came home at 9:45pm and saw Kevin's car still in the driveway (he had to pull it out so the delivery men could go through the garage), I called him on my cell phone and said, "please tell me machine was delivered." He said "No, it's not here yet!!!!":sad2: I come in the house and he's mad, and now I'm mad, and the delivery man calls at 10pm and says that he still has 1 more stop before us, and I very politely let him have it!!!!!! I told him he WILL come tonight, and he WILL tell me when he's going to be here, and not call here again to tell us he's running late (which he did twice while I was gone). He said he will be there by 11pm, and I said that's fine, but he better be in my driveway at 11pm, and no more phone calls!!!! He did pull in right at 11pm, and it did not take much time for the men to take the old one out and put the new one in. We were not happy about all this at all!!!!!:sad2: When the truck (a Ryder truck, because they had some problems with the Sears truck) my neighbor/friend/fellow fireman called Kevin to see if everything was okay, because who gets deliveries at 11pm:rolleyes2 I love having a neighbor that looks out for us, and we do the same for him and his family. It really gives an extra sense of security!!!! So, that's the story with that!!!!

Today we are going to IHOP for pancakes - YUMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes
Then we are going to the mall to do ALOT of returns from Christmas (some gifts, and some things Kevin bought the day after Christmas that we didn't need) and then we are going to come home so I can start my mountains of laundry :faint: Plus, I need to price all the garage sale items I set aside yesterday, and we have to put Stephanie's furniture where she wants it (the room is painted, and it looks great!!!:thumbsup2 ) So we have another productive day ahead of us - no rest for the weary

Well, I must go wake up Katie, and then get ready for pancakes - I love pancakes!!!!
Have a great day!!!!

Mmmmm....pancakes...

Around here we have a place called the Pancake Pantry...it's something of a Nashville staple. To the point where on any given day there's actuallya LINE around the building waiting for a table! And you can always catch celebrities there. Last time the wife and I were there we saw Keith Urban and Nichole Kidman...which is the only time I've ever been speechless...Kidman is my weakness!

Back on topic...I love me some pancakes! Pancake Pantry has some sweet potato pancakes that are to die for!

To all that have the day off today - I hope you enjoy it!!!!:cool1:

PK - That's pretty cool that you saw Nicole Kidman:) Were people swarming here, or were people respectful and leaving her alone? I know if I saw a celebrity, that I loved, in public, I would have a hard time not wanting to ask for an autograph, but in the end, I would leave them alone (that was a really huge run-on sentence:rotfl: )
**My pancakes were really yummy!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I'm off to get ready for work - have a good day!!!

Somebody around here posted the recipe for the Sweet Potato Pancakes from Port Orleans Riverside. I printed it out and make if from time to time. We LOVE them.

 Good day Taglikins!

Well, I was going to jump right up and do chores...HA! I have done three loads of wash...WHILE playing on the computer. I need to get some straightening up done so I can call in the cleaning service. :thumbsup2

Hi guys, So sorry you are all so freaking cold. I live in Florida and the people here are freezing their butts off at 60 degrees. I know wimps. I am totally one of them. I am going to the movies today wearing a winter coat. ugh/ thinking sunny thoughts for you all:beach:

Enjoy your Monday off everyone. Who is skiping work to watch Obama take office? Four years ago my dh and kids were there to watch Bush take office again. It was so cold. I stayed home with Lauren. Not interested!

Speaking of Bush...or just politicians in general...can I just rant about the extremrly bitter political threads that are overwhelming the Community board??? It turns my stomach that this country has become so politically divided!

Conservatives nit picking every little thing Obama does before he's even in office (yes his inauguration is goin to be more expensive...inflation folks)...and liberals looking back at the last eight years rather than looking forward...noone wants to work together...it's nauseating.

Ok I'm getting off my soapbox now...

That's why I pretty much stay clear of the community board...except for threads about FOOD! :lmao:

We are getting snow--just started at 2am.

My in-laws decided to spent the past couple of days or so at their beach condo to escape the crowds. FIL lost a lot of weight, but doing okay---MIL had to go to the er Monday night---not major issue yet.

We are trying to pick our dates for WDW in October. I think we will book after we do our taxes.

It's snowing again!!! :faint:
I'm so tired of all this snow!!!
I better get the girls outside for their annual snow picture before it all melts - then I'll be complaining that I have no snow:upsidedow

Who's watching The Inaugeration today?
I would like to watch it online at work today, but I do have alot to do today, so I don't know yet.

PK - I couldn't agree more about The CB - it's so wrong!!!:sad2: I was on there yesterday at lunch, and everywhere you look there are political threads, and they aren't nice. What makes me chuckle, is some of the responses are so unfriendly to others, that you would think people on here are experts on politics, Obama, Bush, the economy, etc. I really hope that these political thread calm down after today, but I doubt they will. For some reason, people will not let it go, and in order for this country to get back on track, people need to let things go, and start focusing on the future TOGETHER. A country divided will go no where fast, a country unified will make progress.

cheeringmom - How cool that your DH and kids went to see Bush's Inaugeration. I can say I wouldn't go either, because of the cold, and the crowds, but I think it's cool that he went :)

Belle - I"m glad your FIL is doing okay:)

Well, I gotta go workout, even though I'm not in the mood
Have a good day today!!

I had The Inaugeration on all morning and all afternoon - I love watching these type of things. When I first went to college, I went in as a history major, and I really wanted to be one of those historians you see on tv. But, when I knew I would be marrying Kevin, I decided to not do that, because I had no idea where that profession would take me, if it would even take me to tv. So, whenever I can learn more about history, and watch history being made, I love love watching!!!

Well, I must go get Stephanie up for school - have a good day!!

greetings..

I got laid off today.. so I guess i'll be here a lot.. anyway on my way to apply for unemployment..

talk later..

WOW!
So sorry to hear that geffric

Hi guys, sorry I have been MIA for a week or so, school life has been hectic. Things are more relaxed at the moment though and I am enjoying my job more right now. In saying that we have so much more paperwork things that have just been implemented it is unreal. But luckily I like to be organised and I actually enjoy doing organisation and paperwork stuff!!

Geffric I am so sorry, I hope you are able to find another job soon.

NCBelle I'm glad your FIL is doing OK.

Slo I love learning about historical stuff too. One of the things I love about living in England is that we have so much history. I love that the castle 2 minutes from my house has parts of it that are 1000 years old!!

I know what you all mean about some of the CB threads. I like to read the main CB as much as I read the UK one, but oh boy some of the threads on the main one get ugly!! I don't think I have ever seen a mean thread on the UK boards at all (maybe that just amplifies the stereotype that all British people are polite and friendly, sadly it is not always the case!) I actually don't read any of the political threads, aminly because I don't really understand them. I have a hard time keeping up with British politics (OK, I know nothing about that either!)

Well I guess I should be going, I have to be up early in the morning and I have some celebrity Big Brother to watch on the TV (we have 3 American celebs in our version this year.)

MIL had to have emergency surgery yesterday, but she is expected to heal fast. FIL is okay, but he had to stay with some of their friends who live part-time at the ocean due to his side effects from treatments. Poor BIL, he had to drive 3 hours to be there for the operation and fight the traffic overload from all of this week's Inaugaration festivities.

We had over 5 inches of snow mix yesterday and half of it is still on the ground. We ran out of salt for our steps (the storm was like not predicted until the last minute). Schools are out 2 fdays in a row---the neighbor kids had a blast playing in it. Jessie loves it until she has to go to the bathroom. She loves to make her version of snow angels---rolls around in it.

NCB - I hope that MIL okay, glad she is expected to heal fast... I am sorry to hear about the surgergy. Hope your FIL is okay and able to take care of her when she gets home..

YIKES!! 5 inches of snow... that far south?? this is a winter for the record books.. do you even have warm coats and stuff??? Hope it melts for you and warms up.

NC B. talked to his mom tonight. He said that she is in good spirits, but she wants to be out and about because of a family party on Sunday. FIL is with friends and both would be in their apartment by this weekend ( lot of friends and family in a 5-30 minute driving distance willing to help). MIL was having issues when we were up in MD last month, but she kept on pushing the date back for her appointments.

We do have winter coats, but no boots. We did have a deep snow (over a foot or 2) years ago. We did not have much snow or ice in the past couple of years.

I don't have to take Sophie :dog: out anymore first thing in the morning, and it's really great!!!!:) She never wants to go out first thing in the morning - I would literally have to pull her out of her cage. So, I finally decided to leave her in there (I started that Tuesday) and she's perfectly fine with that. I really hated taking her out right after being in a warm bed, so I'm thrilled - she's such a good little puppy!!!!!:goodvibes

geffric - So many hugs to you!!!
I will keep you in my prayers that you find another job real soon, and that it will be something you enjoy.
Please keep us posted on how everything is going with you :grouphug:

Danauk - I'm so glad that you are enjoying work:) Do you know when your next inspection is going to be?
**Someday, when I visit England, I will really enjoy all the history there. Part of me would like to visit there alone, so I can take my time at different places. I really like to read everything, and take things slow, which makes the day boring for those I'm with:rotfl:

Belle - I'm sorry to hear of your MIL:guilty: What was wrong with her that she needed emergency surgery? I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers that she recovers quick, and can get back home:angel:

Well, I gotta go get ready for work - I have a lot to do, and need to get in early today (which is a great thing for me to say in January!!!!). Have a great day today everyone!!!
