Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Congrats CMOM - is Sam still cheering for both football and bball?

Well i am not going to Champaign today, client rescheduled meeting but I am working from home.

we have snow.. maybe about 2 inches, but they are saying about 4-8 inches when it is done..

geffric - I was thinking it was chilly here. I had to walk across the street to my mom's place to let the bug man in. It is in the upper 40s with a high of about 67 expected and it felt pretty darn cold to me. Hearing what it is like for you puts it all in perspective!

Hi guys,
Sorry I have been MIA for a few days, but we are back at school!!. This term I have gained 3 children, 2 of whom are special needs and they are adorable. Such sweet kids. I had thought before Christmas that we might be able to relax now that inspectors will be off our backs until about June time, but alas, no! I am snowed under with paper work, all of which I am assured by the power that be are usefull. But I am having issues trying to fugure out how to actually manage it all!! I think today I figured it to the delight of the teachers in my team who were still thinking about it all!!

So I am looking forward to not having to get into work for 7am tomorow and am looking forward to turning my alarm off! I promise I will look over the thread tomorrow to catch up on all the news. Sorry for not responding to posts, I will do that tomorrow.

Okay, I think I may be going nutty.

My mom is ready to move out here. I fly to Texas to finish up on the first week of Feb. We will be back home on the 6th. She will initially live with us because her belongings will not be here yet.

The next Friday (13th) I think we may go to Las Vegas for the weekend. My DH stumbled upon a time share for rent by an old high school friend. That friend will be in another timeshare at the same time. I think we will fly my in-laws out from TN for a belated 50th anniversary celebration. They will stay in Las Vegas longer. We will be asking them if they want to come stay with us too when they are out west. So there is the potential to have both sets of grandparents here, in our home, at the same time. It is a small, 1960s tract home.(but my mom will have a potentially empty - if her stuff isn't here yet - 4 bed, 3 bath home across the street).

This means we may be leaving my mom in our home while we go off for the weekend. My mom's health is such that she is not up to a drive to Las Vegas - she was offered before we realized how big this time share really is (1190 sq feet). Once we realized that it was a large one bedroom and a small one bedroom combined (two kitchens, two baths, two living rooms) we figured it was big enough for my in-laws.

This all sounds crazy, yet I am strangely excited. Maybe it's because I never saw my grandparents within years of each other. One set lived in Alabama and the other was in Texas (but my parents went to the same high school so my grandparents knew each other but they stopped living anywhere near each other 10 years before I was born). We lived in Delaware.

My husband told me this evening that he talked to his dad and his dad seemed extremely excited about possibly going to Las Vegas. It makes me happy that he is. My youngest is already asking if granddad will sit next to her in the back of the van.

To be honest, we asked my in-laws expecting them to say no. We are shocked - but not displeased - that they may do it.

Good morning everyone.

BB, wow soudns like a fun time for sure. Not sure I could handle all of my family in the same place for a week though!!

Dana, wow two new kids right after the break? That is hard when you already have schedules established. Did any other teachers get new students?

Congrats CMOM - is Sam still cheering for both football and bball?

..
no. After she ruptured her appendix, she quit. I wish she was still in it. She needs the exercise!!

BELLLE, it does seem like yesterday huh? Hard to believe I've known you all so long!!

off to start the day!! have a great weeknd

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday

I found out yesterday that Stephanie needs to have a 3rd surgery on her right ear:guilty: Last February she had her tube removed, and the hole the tube left never healed up properly, so her ear has been draining off and on (like a runny nose). So she needs a surgery for the doctor to go into her ear and patch it up. So now we need to go see the ENT and make all the final arrangements.

cheeringmom - :cheer2: :cheer2: That's awesome about your team!!!!!

geffric - How's the snow by you? We have maybe about 5 inches here - the girls are excited!!!!:yay:

Danauk - Good luck with everything at work :wizard::wizard: Keep us posted on how everything is going.

BB - You are going to have a lot going on, but it sounds great!!!!:goodvibes I've never been to Vegas, and I really want to go someday. Until then, I will enjoy it through all of you when you go :goodvibes

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I must get going and start the day - take care everyone!!

Hi guys,

Slo I'm sorry to hear that Stephanie has to have an operation. PD to her!!

BB I'm envious that you are going to Vegas, I love it there!!

Cheeringmom Nearly every class gained students. I guess a few families must have moved into the area over Christmas!! It is a bit of a pain as you then have to adjust your groups, get more tables and chairs in your room etc. But never mind.

Well today I have had a bit of a lazy day and just did a few bits and pieces around the house. I soent a few hours editing photos which is something I had been meaning to do for ages (which is why my sig has changed again, I decided to go with the park icons of every park I had been to. It took me ages to go through all my albums to find all the pics I wanted to use!!) Tomorrow I have loads of school work to do. On Monday I have a student teacher starting in my class so I need to make sure my lessons are really good to set a good example.

Well it is dinner time here, so I guess I should go and cook! Have a great day everyone.

Morning Taglikins!

I had another wonky night of falling asleep on the couch, waking in the middle of the night and watching the SciFi channel, falling back asleep on the couch, waking at 4AM and DISing for a bit then going to bed and finally waking up at 9:30AM :scared1:

Got a phone call from my Sept WDW "host" that we are booked in Villas at Wilderness Lodge, but he will check in Feb to see if we can transfer over to Boardwalk Villas. I'll be happy with either, just think Boardwalk is more fun because it's close to lots of fun stuff (and good eats).

:grouphug: for everybody!

Afternoon all..

I went to the funeral of a close friend's mom this morning.. then got bck about 1ish, went to SAMs for milk and a few other things and then off to shovel some more.. we have about 9 inches so far.. and it is still snowing but at a slow pace..

BB - sounds like a great Las Vegas trip.. and it will be so special to spend time with the family. Good luck on getting your Mom to AZ.

CMOM - I guess I missed the part about Sam's ruptured appendix, is she ok now??? Does she graduate next year???

DanaUK.. I love your siggie pics.. they are awesome..

We got to some low 60s temps today, but in a few days we will be freezing cold again.

Ibouncetoo--- We had an awesome view when we rented a studio at BWV...5th floor, saw Spaceship Earth and the boat launch, and we did not pay for a boardwalk view.

Danauk---I like the signature pictures.

Brindle's stitches were removed today. She seems to be doing quite well. She is out of the crate and SO HAPPY to be on our bed.

She has been cleared for normal activity.

I am so happy she pulled through this health scare.

We've got to take our new puppy to the vet to be neutered here soon. I'm not happy about it as I don't like the idea of her being under general anestethic...but I know in our neighborhood it's important to get it done.

PK Disney Dork - Our little 2-year-old pound rescue Shih Tzu was neutered a couple months back and did fine. That surgery seems much less invasive than the spaying surgery. We picked him up the next day (adopted him) and you would never know he had anything done.

Poor Brindle is an almost 12-year-old dog and she had a major abdominal surgery followed by a serious one a week later.

I was very worried about the general anesthesia too. The only thing we noticed is it took a couple of days for her appetite to return to normal. That could have been the messing around with your insides - but I suspect the anesthesia was a factor. We gave her some wet food because we knew she would eat that (She normally gets just dry food)

Good luck with your pup!

Yesterday was a bummer of a day - my washing machine died on me while washing laundry:guilty: It started making this awful noise, and then started making this awful electrical burning smell, and then died:guilty: Kevin called an appliance place to see if it's worth fixing, and they said it would in our best interest to buy a new one (because the price of fixing would be the same or slightly less than a new one). I was not happy!!!!!:sad2: So I had to ring out all that watered logged laundry (that was in freezing cold water), and scoop out all that water (Kevin was outside fixing the snowblower that pooped out - luckily he was able to fix that). After church I took my basket of very heavy, watered logged laundry to my mom's who is going to rewash everything for me:) Then after dinner we went to Sears Appliance and purchased a new machine, which will be delivered on Saturday. We bought a Kenmore and with a rebate we paid approx $425:thumbsup2 So, until I get the new one, I have a week of doing no laundry:thumbsup2 As much as that sounds great, I fear how much laundry I will have to do once I get the machine:scared:

Danauk - Thanks for the PD for Stephanie:goodvibes

ibounce - I hope you are able to get the Boardwalk Villas:wizard: I've only visited The Boardwalk, but have never stayed there - it looks like it would be great!!!:)

Belle - :wave2:

BB - I'm so glad to hear that Bridle is doing better :dog:

PK - Your puppy will do fine ::yes:: I've had 2 male dogs neutered and 1 female dog spayed and they all did great:thumbsup2 What kind of puppy do you have? I have an 8 month old Yorkie, and her name is Sophie :dog:

Well, I must get going and get dressed - we have people coming over today. My FIL (and maybe MIL) is coming over to help solve some thermostat issues (we think we need to move it - my last NIPSCO bill was $560 and I don't live in a large home - just a quad level house). Kevin's friend, and Katie's Godfather, said he's coming over today to visit. So, I guess I should be showered and dressed for all these visitors:upsidedow

I hope you all have a good day today!!!

YUCK! Sorry you are dealing with that.

It's the start of another week!
I woke up at 3:30am to use the washroom, and I couldn't go back to sleep, because my mind was racing with all the things I need to do this week - I hate it when that happens!!!!

Have any of you heard, or have, the Wii game called Disney's Think Fast? We got it for Christmas from a friend, and it is so much fun - the girls and I have been having a blast with it. If you have a Wii, I would highly recommend this game:thumbsup2

BB - Thanks, but I guess things could be worse. The upside to the whole situation, is that I don't have to do any laundry until Saturday:laundy: This could be a good thing and a bad thing - depending on how you want to look at it:)

Well, I'm off to workout - I ate a little to much yesterday and I need it:upsidedow .
Have a good day!!!

Morning..

BB - glad to here that Brindle is doing well

SLO - no :laundy: .. oh well the good news is that you'll have a nice new machine

well yesterday I booked a WDW trip for the end of July.. military tickets and rate was just too good to pass up. Dh is going to the base at Great Lakes to get the tickets for us.. Eric is taking a friend as Geoff will be working at the Boy Scout camp all summer..

So when I was talking to DH about it before I made all the arrangements, he said that we would take longer to drive this time as he is not able to drive as much as he has in the past.. I said ok.. but Eric can drive some too..:scared1: .. he turned pale at that thought..

SLO sorry about the washer but look on the bright side, you got a new one!!!

BB so glad Brindle is doing better!

hahahaha I feel your pain! Glad you are going though. Too hot in July for us!!

and Sam ruptured her appendix about 1.5 yrs ago. It was horrible. She was in and out of the hospital for a few months with surgeries. She had to drop a semester and lost her chance to go to Paris to study. It was sad. I probably wasn't on the boards a lot during that time. I spent most of my time at the hospital. But she is better. and she decided not to cheer after that. She was in the middle of competition season and felt bad for letting her team down but really didn't have a choice. But I do think she misses it a bit!

 have a great day everyone!

off to clean. I dislike Mondays!!

Okay Lily said something funny this evening when opening the door to the bathroom where the toilet, tile and vanity had been removed today. (there is just the hole where the toilet mounts).

'This kind of smells like Pirates of the Caribbean.'

I didn't know that she had a ruptured appendix..:grouphug: for you and her even if it is a bit late..LOL.. She cheered for so many years, I can image that it was a part of her life and friends. :grouphug:
