Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Too bad you don't live in my neck of the woods! During the holidays everytime we flipped channels we saw of the the four commercials I had airing!!!

Hi all! For some reason we decided to cook like my Nana today (maternal grandmother). I cooked her King Ranch Casserole for dinner and Banana Bundt Cake. Then we made (not Nana's recipes) a Lemon Chess Pie and a Chocolate Chess Pie. The last pie is still in the oven.

It was VERY hard for me to let the girls help me with the cake. I know you only learn by doing - and my mom had me cooking at a very early age (I could scramble eggs at 4 or 5). By the time I was Lily's age - I could make my own breakfast - and if I wanted a can of soup for breakfast - that was okay. And I grew up with a gas range - not an electric like we have.

It is just hard for me to watch them spilling sugar on the table when trying to fill a measuring cup, getting tons of egg shells in the batter when cracking an egg etc...

But we survived and the girls had fun.

I had a good and productive day off yesterday:)
I finally went and renewed my drivers license - I'm glad to have that done!!!
Went to Aldis, which was crazy crowded, the most crowded I've ever seen it.
Got the Christmas decorations downs (I'm putting them in the boxes today), did some laundry, and made and Italian meal - like I said, it was a very positive, productive day!!!! :teeth:

BB - It's hard for me too to let the girls do things on their own in the kitchen. When we are baking for company, I do the measuring and cracking eggs, but when it's for us, I let them do alot more, and in fact, I haven't done this in awhile. I need to let them do some baking this winter - they would love that!!!!:)
**How is Bridle doing?

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I need to get the girls up and ready to go - their grandma (my MIL) is coming to get them to take them for the day:woohoo: I hate to seem so happy, but it'll be nice to finish putting away all these decorations w/o them being underfoot:)

Have a good day today!!!

Good luck with the decorations slo! I'm just popping in to say good morning. We're making one last Disneyland trip today :( I'll miss it, but then i'm off to the World!

Ah you'll be back to DL before you know it. And in the meantime you have WDW 24 hours a day to keep you entertained, what could be better :goodvibes. Have fun, I would love to hear all about it.

Hello everyone. Well my Mum and little sister have gone back home now so I should finally be back on here properly. It has been loving having them and Christmas with my family was wonderful but now I have so much to do and catch up on. And my house is a total mess as Sophie is not the tidyiest of children. That and the fact I haven't had time to put any of our Christmas gifts away yet. And then theres the tree, it desperately needs to come down as unfortunately its dead, but I just haven't had the time yet.

Anyway I hope everyone is well and had a great Christmas time. I am sad it is over as its my favorite time of year but at least I have WDW to look forward too, not that much longer now.

I've been noodling around with some more vacation plans. As I have FIVE weeks starting this year, but not a lot of cash, as most is allocated to the two week September trip. I've been looking for something to do the first half of this year that won't cost an arm and a leg.

So, I think I'll be visiting big sister in Chicago in May! :woohoo: Will just have air fare and food expenses there and its a chance to play with some friends as well as visit Dianne. My cruise pal Ian is doing a WDW trip that month and is sending for my cruise pal Cheri to come and dog sit for him. It's cheaper to fly her our than to kennel the dogs! So I thought I'd go up and 'overlap' that schedule so I can show Chicago to Cheri, plus play with Ian, plus perhaps a Taglikin pal or two???? This is still up in the air, as I do have a Thanksgiving trip planned for Chicago already.

The second half of the year is trip intensive....a week at WDW followed by a week on DCL in September. A weekend pop-over to Disneyland early November for my birthday (Free day at Disneyland) and then Thanksgiving in Chicago. Oh, and I'm taking a couple of days at Christmas in case anyone wants to come here! :lmao: Jeeze...I'm about out of vacation days!

This is day 3 of removing the Christmas decorations.
Yesterday was successful with getting all boxes down from the attic, putting away everything into the boxes, and then getting the boxes back into the attic. Today I need to take down all window and mirror decorations (stickies, gellies, and mini stained glasses), and then vaccuum and dust - then it will finally be done :faint: It's such a long process!!!!

What are you all doing today????

SeeWhat - My one DIS friend just left this program earlier this week. Good luck with everything :wizard: I"m so excited for you to be doing this program - what a great experience for you!!!!! Have a safe trip to Florida, good luck getting settled in, and when you need us, we are here for you:grouphug:

Ariel - I"m glad you had a good Christmas:santa: When are you going to Florida?

ibounce - I would love to get together with you and geffric when you are in town. Keep us posted on when you are coming:)

geffric - I"m sorry your hair didn't turn out the way you wanted :guilty: I dye my hair red, and I can tell you from experience that red fades fast (my hair dye is called "Red Penny" so it's not dark, it's more bright and carroty). In fact, it fades so fast, that I don't wash my hair everyday to help it not fade as fast. So my advice to you is wash the heck out of it, and hopefully it will be less dark in about 1 1/2 weeks. Or.........if you feel that you didn't get what you expected, talk to your hair dresser about it, and maybe they'll redo it at no charge.

Well, I'm off to finish putting these decorations away so I can chill out the rest of the day. I hope you all have a good Sunday

Well, you two are the 'couple' I was thinking about! :)

Slo ~ I'm glad you have finally managed to get all your decorations away. We have been quite bad and despite our tree being a little bit worse for wear, i.e. completely dead, we still haven't taken it down. We have just been so busy and I am determined to catch up with everything on here. And get back to Disney planning again :goodvibes

We go to WDW April 26th - May 18th, not too long now :cheer2:

Evening all,
Slo I got my decorations all put away today too. It took me 90 minutes to take down my Disney tree! My house look so bare now! I did decide to keep 2 Disneyland Paris and my Bellagio decorations out though and out them in my Display cabinet, they are too nice to hide away for most of the year!!

ibouncetoo I am so envious about all your Disney trips this year. Just popping to Disneyland for your birthday is magical!! I wish Disneyland Paris were doing the free entry on your birthday thing as my birthday is a Saturday this year.

Geffric Sorry your hair didn't turn out they way you wanted it. Im sure it still looks nice.

Today my bunnies decided they wanted a new hobby, ice skating. The pond had frozen over so the bunnies have been hopping on it to eat the plants that were sticking through the ice. It made me very nervous! But I took a pic anyway!!

Ariel Not long now!! I'm sure I have asked before but where are you staying?

Danauk ~ We are staying in POFQ for 13 nights, Royal Pacific for 2 nights and then the Polynesian for 7 nights. I am so excited.

Hmmmmmm....I thought it was EVERY park. :confused3

Love the ice skating bunnies pic.

POFQ is one of my favorite spots. As a matter of fact, one of the things I miss at MK that they have at DLR is New Orleans Square. So staying at POFQ helps fill that 'hole'. :lmao:

Well, it's back to the ol' grind stone:upsidedow
I really enjoyed this break, and not my break from work, but break from Stephanie going to school. I'm so not looking forward to fighting about homework again, and the mad dash in the morning. Oh well, it's gotta be done:rolleyes:

This morning I'm starting my workout program again - I've been on vacation from that for way to long. As difficult it will be to get motivated after a month off, it'll feel good to get moving again. I sleep so much better when I work out, and I noticed that I'm not sleeping as well, so I"m looking forward to that:thumbsup2

I had a very successful day yesterday:)
Christmas is officially down and gone in this house, and Valentives Day has officially begun:thumbsup2 I wasn't sure if I should put my Valentines Day clings and gellies up already, but I knew if I didn't do it now, than it probably won't get done at all (like last year). I was also able to get mountains of laundry done, and did a decent amount of cleaning - it was a good day!!!!!:thumbsup2

ibounce - I'm glad you were thinking of me:goodvibes

Ariel - Please don't leave that tree up to long, because it's a real fire hazard:firefight . We don't want anything bad happening to you.

Danauk - I keep a couple Christmas things out all year too, because I don't want them tucked away either:sad2:
**Your bunnies are so cute - thanks for posting that picture.

Well, it's time for me to get ready to workout.
Have a great day today everyone!!

No workout's this morning.
My MIL had Katie take a nap yesterday (when I've told her not to:headache: ) and had issues with sleeping. She couldn't fall asleep last night, and was still awake when I went to bed at 10:15pm, and then she woke me up at 4:30am telling me couldn't sleep:guilty: So instead of getting up to workout, I had her come lay in bed with me, hoping she would go back to sleep - she didn't:sad2: I've explained to my MIL that when she naps, she can't sleep well at night, but for some reason, she doesn't want to respect that, and puts her down for a nap anyway:headache:

Well, I gotta run and get Steph off to school:teacher: Sorry I don't have much time to post this morning.
Have a good day today!!!

Good morning everyone, I spent all day Friday taking everything down and putting it away; wife was at new job at hospital training for 12 hours so I needed something to do while the kids were playing with their new toys. Sorry I have not been on as much as I was before but I have been putting life back together, things are going really good and there may even be a second wedding in our future. We got married almost 5 years ago at the justice of the peace and we both have been dying for a real wedding, we are starting to plan something now, not too big but all the glitz of a wedding. School is going really well also, 2 more classes and I'll have my Bachelor's degree, my wife and I decided I would stay at home with the kids and take care of the house while she works, probably won't look for work for 2 years until youngest is in school so I may take the time and work toward my master's degree now. Hope everyone has a magical day and i will keep everyone posted on all of the planning and such.
