Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Evening all!,

RRBBSorry Sophia isn't feeling well, I hope she is better soon. How is the cruise prep going? I've started my packing lists and begun to get my clothes ready in the spare room. Thank goodness we have a generous weight limit (2 cases at 32kg per person) as packing for 3 weeks isn't going to be light!

Geffric Will Geoff get home just before you leave? I hope he has a fab time. I just thought, are the boys cruising with you?

RRBB and Geffric Speaking of the cruise, is there anything you would like me to bring from England for you guys when we meet up?

Slo, hope you enjoyed your pool day. I wish we were having pool weather. I think we have already had our summer! Today we have had 60mph winds!!

bluebayou I hope your trip to your mums is a positive one.

ibouncetoo Hey there, hope you had a good trip to walmart. My local supermarket is a walmart franchise (although ours are called asda as that was their name before walmart took them over.) I have heard a few negative things on the US boards about walmarts. I have to say ours is really good. They are open 24 hours a day. Yesterday we went in and bought the new TV for our bathroom (yes I did say TV for the bathroom!!, it is going above the new jacuzzi tub!! I got the idea from the house of the future in Epcot so it is really Disney's fault I got the idea!! lol.)

Oh well, I should go and do some planning. I really put off doing my school work on a Sunday until it gets dark. The only problem is that in the summer we don't have sunset until 10pm! I guess I should really get on with it!!

Ooh nearly forgot, wallyb My friends at work say thanks for the yummy oreos. I decided to share a packet and they went down a treat!!

Just a quick edit question: Since we have begun to get our packing lists organised I have a question which I am hoping those of you who have been to Vegas can answer. We are eating at a couple of the more upscale restaurants during our trip, Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio, Nobhill at MGM Grande and one at the Wynn which I can never spell!! Anyway, I was wondering about dress codes. Will Pete need a jacket and tie, or will smart trousers and a smart but short sleaved shirt be OK? Pete has to wear a suit ever day for work so he has plenty of them, but I don't really want to pack one if we don't need to.

Yes he will be home 8/3.

Thanks for the offer but with the suitcase restrictions, i'll have to pass.. but thanks..

BTW - no the kids are not going on the cruise.. school here starts 8/20 and they are too old to miss it. plus Eric plays football so they start practicing July 3rd almost the whole day.. and Geoff has many activites he would miss too plus xcountry running.. so they are staying here... hopefully with Scott's aunt..

RRBB - hope she feels better..it is so hard with a clingy baby and a toddler..

BB - I am sure your Mom appreciates all you are doing to help her.. but the entire experince is very difficult.. good luck..

.

Hi.. I really don't know about dress code in vegas.. but in most upscale resturants they require jackets.. but wallyB or ibounce could answer for sure..

Nope, ibounce couldn't. Don't know. :confused3

And....were is WALLY??????

.

We had a very nice day yesterday :)
We had to dodge the rain often (it was a weird weather day) but that's okay. The girls got to play in the pool for awhile, and I got to lay in the sun :sunny: (it wasn't warm enough for me to be in the pool).

Tonight I have training to be a lecter at church (the person that does the readings during mass).
I've always wanted to do this, but always had a reason not to. When our Priest asked me about doing this, I told him that Katie wouldn't want to sit with her sister while I did it. He told me I could take her with me - I thought that would be great!!! So I decided to do it!!!! I'm really excited about it!!!!:goodvibes

ibouncetoo - I need to get to Wal-Mart too, especially Sam's Club - I have to buy candy for our 4th of July parade this weekend. I have my van in the parade to advertise the store, and I thought I should throw a little candy to the kiddos :)

geffric - I hope Geoff has a nice time being a camp counselor. I had a friend who did that, and she loved it!!!:)
**A chocolate buffet - yummy!!!!!:goodvibes

Danauk - You don't have Oreos by you? They really are yummy aren't they?!:goodvibes That was so nice that Wally sent them to you - he's such a nice guy!!!!

Well, I'm off to get walking (I need to work off all my snacking by the pool yesterday  )
Have a good day today!!!

Hi Danauk - glad you friends liked the Oreos. What kind did they scarf-up.
Their were a few types there that I have never tryed (Yet ;) )
myself.

As for Vegas - I've not bee to a place tha required a jacket yet -
And I've been to most of the "fancy" Places. Paul and I usually go for "casual chic" and we're fine.
There is one newish place At the MGM Grand called The Mansion -
that might require a jacket - but it also requires a FAT wallet too ;)

I so want to go back to Vegas Soon.

Hi guys,
Just popping by quickly, I might not be around much for the next 10 days or so. Guess what phone call we got at work today? Yes the inspection one! They are coming in next Monday and Tuesday. I'm kind of pleased we got the call. We knew we would be having a visit before the end of the school year so now we know the date we know we can begin to relax a little once its over.
Well, better run, I have a lot of work to do this week!!

Chocolate buffets, camps, inspections, rosiola.... oh my!

I have to say, geffric, that BSA never leaves ones life. My husband got himself off the board - due to too many other board commitments - but it keeps with him all the time. Now we are entering the next generation stage and it is bound to be back to a constant in our lives again.

I am having major Mommy guilt today as it's my son's first day of summer camp - outdoor camp - and it is sever thunderstorms here all day long. :worried: :scared1:

I can't pass the time quick enough until I pick the wee one up again. :bitelip:

Hope your son had a great day at camp...

DanaUK.. at least it is the last round of inspections for the year.. YEAH>>

I know what you mean about BSA.. Geoff and Dh and I have been active since he was in late kindergarden.. just think 1st grade through high school.. but I can see DH continuing as a merit badge counselor and OA adult advisor when Geoff is away at college.. but then Geoff is Lodge Ceremonies chef and chapter vice chief this year.. and is going for vigil..

Next summer he will work at Philmont.. go to an OA jamboree thing and then in 2010 he has already commited to go/work the jamboree with the OA.. so your right.. it never leaves.

and Eric is life so we have a few more merit badges and then another eagle project.. so the beat goes on..

Lesson learned: The resiliency of children will never cease to amaze!

My son came home last night without even a word about storms or scary lightning. He had the best time of his life, made tons of friends - which was a major worry for him over the last week and many, many tearful nights while he fretted that he would not make any friends.

Mommy helped herself to a Mommy's little helper (read: glass of wine) and relaxed after a long day of fretful worry.

Both of us seem to need to worry less about silly things. ;)

geffric, I can't remember, are either of them Order of the Arrow along with being Eagle Scouts, or soon to be in Eric's case? Is that what OA is? My husband was Order of the Arrow and Eagle Scout.

glad he had a good time and make friends... yes both Geoff ( Eagle) and Scott (DH) are order of the arrow.. Eric is not interested as he thinks it is too much "cheerfull service"

Hi there!! :wave2:

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday - I wasn't on the computer much.

I was home all day while getting our new windows installed, and they look really nice:thumbsup2 Then after they were all in, the cleanup began - there was sawdust everywhere :crazy2: I was vaccuuming until 10pm last night. It felt good to get it all done, so I didn't have to wake up to it today:)

OUtside of that, there's not to much going on :sad2:
Our 4th of July fest starts today and runs all weekend, so Kevin will be gone at that all the time. He's not only there with the FD, but he is also on the committee that puts on the fest - he'll be busy!!!!

Well, I gotta run and finish my lunch - then back to work!!!
Have a good rest of the day everyone!!

Today's an early start day
Katie needs to be at daycare by 8am, because she is going to Fair Oaks Farm, and Stephanie needs to be there early too, because she is going on a bowling field trip - they should both have a really fun day!!!!!:cool1:

I decided to go to work right after I take them, because I do have a lot to do. Plus, I'm leaving at 3pm, so I can go to the doctor. I'm still having a huge problem with headaches, and I need to discuss this with him. It seems like they mainly come after I workout, especially outside. I definitly can't run - I get a screaming headache from that :headache: Even my walking is giving me a headache, but not as bad as when I run. I'm so tired of popping pain meds, and I'm getting so tired of working out to be healthy, and I feel worse after I workout, than before I started :headache: I have alot of neck problems, and I don't know if that's the root of this  I would also like to have an allergy test done, to see if I'm allergic to something. Kevin thinks they will have me do a stress test, to see if I'm having an issue with my blood pressure. I don't care what they do, I just want to get to the root of the problem.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work, and to wake up the girls - they'll be crabby:eek:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

friday.gif

Happy Friday back at'cha, bub!

I woke up thinking it was Saturday....very sad a minute or so later when I realized my error. Ah well, I can survive another day of work I guess.

Slo, hope the doctor can discover what the problem is.

Well, time to hit the shower and throw on some jeans (the good thing about Friday) and head into the exciting world of TV.

Have a great day, Taglikins!

had to reprint this it's so good!

Oh, this week is sooooo good to have finally over with! :cool1:

Slo, just be sure to watch out if your are getting a blurring or darkness in one eye after work outs - It's not a sign of heartattacks or anything, but it is something to be sure to be mindful of as it does mean you should do a little more neurological assessment work to ensure there isn't something bigger going on. I had a similar issue when I was in my 20s and learned that it is something to watch for. Nothing came of it for me, but I learned a lot.

So, I went to the doctor yesterday, and he put me on 2 perscriptions for a month. I'm taking a muscle relaxer to help with my neck, and I'm taking a headache mediciane twice a day to help eliminate the headaches. I'm going to go back in a month to tell him how things are going. He wants me to not work out until Wednesday, so the mediciane can get in my system (he definitly thinks the working out is a headache trigger, but he doesn't want me to stop, because it's good to workout). I had an MRI done 2 years ago for my neck, and he wants to see if the MRI showed results for the brain. If it didn't, than I may go have an MRI done to see if I have any fluid on the brain, or anything else bad. He's not thinking I have an aneurism or brain tumor, but he doesn't want to rule that out either - so we'll see what happens.

Why is it that I always have to have an ongoing saga in my life???? Now it's this headache thing, last year it was my knees (which still bother me today, just not as bad), 2 years ago it was my Raynauds and Ocular Rosacea (which I will have the rest of my life). I'm to young for all these issues - sorta ticks me off!!!!:headache:

Last night we went to our town fest, and it was alot of fun. We went with my friend and her DD, and the kids had a blast!!!! The weather was awesome, and mosquitoes were totally under control. We didn't get home until midnight. Tonight my friend and I are going back, but the kids are staying at home with my mom. It'll be fun to go to the fest without the kids - I've never done that before :)

castlegazer - Thanks for letting me know that:) I will definitly watch out of that.:thumbsup2

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

:surfweb:

This is a super quick post this morning.

Today is our 4th of July parade, which is always fun!!!
I've got my van in the parade, and my SIL is helping me throw candy. Last year I handed out coupons, but I decided to not to do that this year. Out of 3 parades, I only had 4 coupons redeemed, so that's why I decided to not waste the time and energy doing it.

Before I leave for the parade, I need to go to 8am Mass. I was going to go yesterday (that's when we always go) but it was such a nice day, that I let the kids play in the pool instead. I was going to make Stephanie come with me to Mass this morning, but I decided to let her sleep in, because today is a long day. The girls are in the parade with the FD, and then we walk the fest afterwards, and then we have the fireworks tonight. So, it's a lot going on!!!

I see the mods moved the smilies back around.
Which is good, because I missed having :cheer2: :sad2:  on the main page. I still don't know why :santa: is here - surely it's not used very much:sad2: .

Well, I gotta grab a bite to eat and then get ready for church.
Have a good day everyone!!!

Update on NC Beast's Dad: "<NC Beast's Dad> saw the doctor yesterday (Thursday) and got a wonderful report. He is essentially in remission.
The bone scan showed no spread of the cancer and the PSA had dropped from 6.7 to 1. His pain level has also dropped to a minimum. The doctor said that the pain experienced by others whose cancer has spread to the same extent experience a great deal of pain, but amazingly <NC Beast's Dad> has been able to discontinue his pain medication." :goodvibes  :dance3: NC B Dad is almost back up to top speed (golf, fishing, choirs, grandkid chasing, etc), but he still gets tired out quicker than he used to before the cancer diagnosis.

:surfweb:

Yesterday was a good, fun day!!!! :cool1:
The parade went well - lots of people!!!
Then we hung out at the fest afterwards. We watched the bed races (the FD won :thumbsup2 ), and then there was a pizza tasting competition. We have 14 pizza joints in our town, and 7 of them competed. You graded them on taste, crust, and sauce - it was really fun!!!! :)
Then we came home for a short while, and then went back in the cold and rain to watch the fireworks - it was a great day!!!!!:goodvibes

Belle - That's such wonderful news about your FIL :dance3: I hope his situation doesn't change, and he continues to get better everyday. I will continue keeping him in my thoughts and prayers!!!! :wizard:

Well, it's time for me to go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!
