Update on NC Beast's Dad: . He is essentially in remission.
.........., but amazingly <NC Beast's Dad> has been able to discontinue his pain medication." :goodvibes  :dance3: NC B Dad is almost back up to top speed (golf, fishing, choirs, grandkid chasing, etc), but he still gets tired out quicker than he used to before the cancer diagnosis.

That's GREAT news! :cool1:

Well, a new week here....at least it's a short work week!

Have a good Monday all!

.

So, I went to the doctor yesterday, and he put me on 2 perscriptions for a month. I'm taking a muscle relaxer to help with my neck, and I'm taking a headache mediciane twice a day to help eliminate the headaches. I'm going to go back in a month to tell him how things are going. He wants me to not work out until Wednesday, so the mediciane can get in my system (he definitly thinks the working out is a headache trigger, but he doesn't want me to stop, because it's good to workout). I had an MRI done 2 years ago for my neck, and he wants to see if the MRI showed results for the brain. If it didn't, than I may go have an MRI done to see if I have any fluid on the brain, or anything else bad. He's not thinking I have an aneurism or brain tumor, but he doesn't want to rule that out either - so we'll see what happens.

Why is it that I always have to have an ongoing saga in my life???? Now it's this headache thing, last year it was my knees (which still bother me today, just not as bad), 2 years ago it was my Raynauds and Ocular Rosacea (which I will have the rest of my life). I'm to young for all these issues - sorta ticks me off!!!!:headache:

I am glad you went.

An MRI is exactly what I was talking about, but didn't want to say it. I needed to have one done after losing vision in one of my eyes. Visions issues can be a sign of several things. For me they were looking for MS. MY MRI showed additional signs too, but for me nothing every appeared further from those two signs so I never had to do a spinal tap. It's been 10 years. :cool1:

I keep telling people I feel like my warranty expired recently too! :guilty:

Thanks for the hug!!!! :)
I refuse to have it keep me away from my activities, unless I feel so bad that I can't go - luckily that doesn't happen to much. I have to admit, that there are many times that I don't feel like going to things because I'm not 100%, but I would just feel worse if I stayed home. I'm just getting bored of all these problems - one right after another:headache: Oh well, I'm trying to keep my spirits up, because anything could always be worse.

I am glad you went.

I go back to the doctor in a month, and he'll tell me then if he wants another MRI of my neck and head - so we'll see what happens.

That's great that they didn't find any MS - does it run in your family?
My employee has MS, and she was tested after she kept tripping for no reason, and was very unsteady on her feet.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work - the girls have to be at daycare early for a field trip.
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Thanks for the hug!!!! :)

:flower3: Good for you Slo - I really think a lot of health issues are closely related to your mood.
I have a friend who survive 2 rounds of cancer and I think it was her "this is not going to defeat me attitude!".

Hi guys, sorry I have been MIA again for a while. I promise I will go back and read all the news after this post.

Well yesterday and today we had yet another inspection at school, so right now I am shattered. I got a total of 1 hour sleep on Sunday night and 3 hours last night due to nerves. We had hoped this would be the last inspection for a while, but no, we get to have a big inspection in October time. We aren't sure what will happen after that. My lesson was graded good again, but I am so sick of constantly being judged and then each time being told I am good at my job. I can't see why those who have consistantly being graded as good can't be left alone.

Oh well, I guess it is nearly summer. We break up 3 weeks tomorrow, but next week I am away with 30 children on an adventure field trip. We are doing archery, climbing, abseiling, karting and fencing so it should be fun. Then after that in the last week and a half we have end of year trips, class parties, tallent shows etc so they are fun. However we do now need to get ready for the next school year, something I have to get done before we go away on the 11th August as we land back in England on Friday 29th August and school starts the following Monday.

But on to nice things, I have waited 2 years to day this, I'm going to Disneyland next month!! Plus today we got tickets for Disneyland Paris's 1st MNSSHP which should be fun!!

Well I'm going to catch up on the thread.

Danauk---I hope that in October that ease up on the inspections. Did you see that they are now having some sort of archery activity at Ft. Wilderness? I don't know if they would bring that to DL or DLP.

I didn't take my muscle relaxer last night, and I'm feeling more like myself this morning. I'm calling the doctor today and telling him that I can't do that pill anymore :sad2: I'm also not to happy with that headache pill. It also makes me groggy, and I feel myself becoming dependent on it already. Last night I had such a bad headache, because the pill wore off at 2pm, and I can't take another dose tell about 4pm, and by then it was to late. So, I"m going to let my doctor know all this, and hopefully he can perscribe something else {fingers crossed}.

Speaking of last night......
I went to training on how to be an Extrodinary Minister of Holy Communion. I'm really enjoying being more involved with the church, and meeting new people:goodvibes .

Today, I'm home, and getting ready for the party on Friday. My house, inside and outside, needs to be cleaned up. With it being nice out, we are also going to try to get some pool time too, so it should be a very productive day!!!!:)

Wally - Thanks!!! :) I'm trying very hard to not have my life affected by any of this, but it is hard sometimes. Especially when I'm starting to loss noticable weight, and I'm told not to exercise by the doctor - it gets tough!!!

Danauk - Hugs to you  I'm so glad you have this 3 week break so you can get some much needed rest after all the stress you've been having at work. How was the field trip???

Belle - :wave2:

Well, I better get this day started - have a good day everyone!!!

OK I caught up!!

Slo I'm sorry you are still having health problems, I hope you get them sorted soon. My field trip is next week, so I'll answer that question when I get back.

NCBelle I'm so pleased your FIL is in remission, I hope he continues that way.

Well work today was a lot less stressful now the inspectors have gone again. However everyone is so low it isn't good. Only 3 more weeks though and then we break up. You can tell it wasn't good today as the education psycologist came in to talk to staff as he is concerned with staff well being. I had a good chat with him though and feel a little better.

I did get my class list today though for next year. I only have 23 children in my class and no low ability or special needs and no behaviour issues!! Whooooo.

Anyhow talking of my class for next year I was wondering if any of you might be able to do me a small favour. Our 1st topic next year is continents, every class had to choose a continent and we do all our topic work about this (history skills, geography, art, design technology, music etc) so guess where I choose? Yes, North America!! Anyhow, I was hoping to collect postcards from all over the USA/Canada to display on a map in my classroom as part of the geography element. So if any of you are able to send me a post card I would be most greatful. PM me for my address if you can help. Thanks!!

Well I better go, I have planning to do for school tomorrow.

Hello everyone!!!!

I am back from Texas. We did not make that much progress at my mother's home. I do not know how we are going to get her moved out here. Her hoarding has just gotten very bad in the last few years.

I hope all is well with everyone. I am trying to focus on positives - like our fall break trip to Disneyland!

Yesterday was a pretty good day at my house:)
I got up kinda late (8am, that's really late for me), I walked 2 miles (a slow walk for me, so I didn't trigger a worse headache), took the girls to the park, came home and spent time with the girls in the pool, then tidy'd up the back yard while the girls were still in the pool (lots of weeds to pull, and had to get things cleaned after the siding and windows were put in). Then after dinner I played with the girls a little - it was a nice day!!!! I did a little cleaning inside the house, but very little, so I need to do the rest today after work  Oh well, I felt it was more important for the girls to have a good day yesterday (I'm really trying to make the best of my Wednesdays off).

My headache is much better today :) I took no mediciation yesterday (I wanted to get it all out of my system - I figured a day at home would be good for that). I read online that I could be suffering from a lot of rebound headaches, because of the amount of mediciation I take (either perscription or over the counter). So, I'll take nothing today too, and we'll see what happens. I decided to not call the doctor, because there's 2 different ways to take the mediciation he gave me. I tried it the way he said (2 pills in the am, and then 2 pill in the late afternoon) and I didn't like it. I will try it the other way (2 pills on the onset of headache, and the 1 pill an hour until headache goes away - no more than 5 pills total). If I still don't like how I feel, or it doesn't work, than I'm calling him ::yes:: So, we'll see what happens

I appreciate all your kind thoughts with what I'm going through. It's so nice to have you all to vent to about my issues - it makes me feel a little better. :grouphug:

Danauk - I would love to help with postcard ::yes:: I don't have anything here at home, so I'll need to buy one the next time I go somewhere that sells them (not many Indiana cards, but I'll find something :thumbsup2 ). If you need anything else for your topic, please PM me :)

BB - I'm sorry that moving your mom is going to be harder than you thought :guilty: Please keep us updated on how things are going, and be sending lots of PD your way :wizard:

Well, it's time for me to get going, and workout a little - inside today, I hate all this wind!!!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!

Welcome back! Sorry I haven't had a chance to chat with you at work...this week has been a living nightmare, but things should die down this afternoon with clients heading home for the holiday weekend.

I have a Disneyland trip planned too! :cool1: For the week after Labor Day...well the weekend after that is (4 day trip). Two of my cruisemates (who have been together for 20 years) and going to be married in California that weekend. We're all very happy that the state of CA has now made it possible for them to make a legal commitment to go with the emotional one. :thumbsup2 So a mess of us are joining them on their 'honeymoon' at Disneyland. :lmao: :lmao:

I have a sick tummy this morning...something I ate...and I don't want to go to the office. BUT I must as my team-mate is only in for a half day today. Hopefully we may be able to get out a bit early as most of the cients will be long gone by 3PM.

Have a good day Taglikins, and a GREAT FOURTH OF JULY!

.

Hey everyone, it's a beautiful day here in England. We had to have the AC on yesterday as the house was so warm!!

Slo I'm glad you had a nice day with the girls, I sure wish we had a pool in this weather!! I hope you feel better today and the headaches are not as bad.

Geffric A Chicargo postcard would be fab, thank you. Do you need my address, or actually you could just give me it when we meet up next month. I love saying that I'm going to Disneyland next month!!

ibouncetoo I hope you have a fab trip to Disneyland, where will you stay?

Well it is such a beautiful day here I think I will go and sit in the garden for a while. Have a great evening everyone.

Happy 4TH of July...

What a fun, fun, fun day yesterday!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Now the clean-up begins - my kitchen floor makes me do this:eek: :scared1:
I was going to do something last night, but then Kevin and I stayed out with our neighbors until 1:15am, and I decided sleep was more important

Today looks like a gorgeous day :sunny:
After I clean-up, I think I need to lay in the pool for awhile :)

Tonight is my first time being a Extrodinary Minister of Holy Communion at church - I'm so excited!!!! I haven't received my schedule for being a lector yet, but I'm sure my first time doing that will be soon also. I'm really enjoying being more involved with my church. I love getting to know my priest better, and getting to know other parishoners better too.

Well, I've gotta get going and start cleaning this disastor.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hi guys,
I hope you all have had a great holiday weekend. I'm all packed ready for my adventure camp next week with my class. Now when this was booked we choose the beginning of July as we figured the weather would be lovely for doing outdoor activities. Well I was wrong. All next week the forecast is heavy rain!! Oh well, I guess I should pack the waterproofs!!
Well I guess I had better get on with my work, I did some gardening this morning when it was dry so I need to cut up the branches I trimmed and put them in the recycle bin.

Hi everyone!!!

I hope it has been a good holiday weekend (For those who celebrate). We are just hanging around the house/pool today.

ibouncetoo - I hope you are feeling better - we do need to catch up at work sometime.
