Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Morning..

castlegazer nice to see you.. sorry about the gallbladder.. how are things otherwise??

RRBB - I haven't started packing or even thinking about packing either. It sounds so nice that yiu sister was in and the kids had a great time. Is Ian's camp all day?? BTW Tom is getting a list together of all the DoubleTree folks. so i add your family to the list.. hope that was okay.. we are talking about transport from the DT to the port..

Hi SLO

happy father's day to all.. we don't have big plans.. geoff comes home late Saturday night..DH didn't wanna BBQ, he wnts to have a burger at Bennigan's so i have a 2fer for a burger..so i guess he will be happy..

Whooooo, it's the weekend!!

RRBB and Geffric I have already started thinking about packing. Pete and I went clothes shopping last weekend so we know what clothes we are taking now. I have been putting some of them that I won't wear before the trip into the wardrobe in the spare room (at the moment here in England it isn't exactly Californian clothes weather!!) I have also started on my packing lists, chargers to take, sorting out travel adapter plugs etc. Did you know it is 64 days until we meet!!

Well at work today I found out that I am definately teaching the 8-9 year olds class next year and that my assistant will be either one of the two ladies I have worked with this year, they are both great so I don't mind who I have. I am so happy about this as I am bored of teaching the older children now and I wanted a change. Plus the 8-9 year olds class has the bext topic to cover in my opinion which will be great!!

So do you have fathers day too this Sunday? I am going to visit my parents for the weekend as a surprise. We are having our new bathroom suite delivered tomorrow morning at 7am and then we are going to drive up to visit them, 3 or 4 hour drive up to the coast. This evening we are going to our friends for dinner which should be nice, it means I don't have to run around cleaning this evening before they arrive!!

Have a great weekend everyone.

DanaUK.. great on having the class and the grade you want. WOO HOO..

BTW what is a bathroom suite??

Castlegazer--- I hope that you feel better soon. I had my gallbladder out just days after my 25th birthday. Take it easy for a little bit.

:rolleyes1 I don't pack until maybe the day or 2 before our trips (sometimes a few hours). We need to get NC Beast some new clothes for the trip.

Our plans for Father's Day---- calling them.

Hellllloooooo! I lost you'all for a while there. I followed the bread crumbs through ibouncetoo!

Glad to be of service!

I have been well - except for having my gallbladder out last week, but other than that, just waaay busy with work! :worried: I have only recently had some time to start DIS'ing a little more again - most likely, I should not spend the time doing it, but you know how it is when you have a cruise coming up - no matter how far away!

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I am sooo jealous of you going on that repo cruise! It sounds like it was just the bomb!

It was fabulous. And now I wish I could have a do-over to do the parts I missed....like whatever was going on while I was napping. ;)

That is so awesome about Mike Super! I missed his show at Mohegan Sun recently and I was sooooooo bummed. I am trying to get him to do our next cruise, which is April vacation next year. So I am trying to show him that there is a fan base here - not sure he even knows about the DIS. But, figure I can start it up! :bitelip: :hyper:

He sounds like such a great guy! Cutie pie too.

I have to tell you that I went to see Copperfield recently and was very close to him and I could not stop comparing the two magicians and totally felt that Mike was better now than David Copperfield!

I loved the shows he did and he was so friendly to everyone when you ran into him out and about on the ship.

RRBB and Gefric....you are going to have SUCH a wonderful time. AND if you re-book on board....pick the 9/12/09 7 day to Tortola, OK? ::yes::

I hope to get my pics downloaded this weekend and have to select a new photo hosting site so I can post them. (never got around to replacing imagestation when it shut down) OR, I could just hijack photos from my cruisemates trip reports and post them over here for you. :rotfl2:

..well, I've been DISing at work and I'd better head home soon...don't want to be here all night!

.

Okay i can do that.. is that a dummy cruise or are you really going on it???
i am hoping for alaska 2010

RRBB - How nice that you've been having a nice time with your sister and family :goodvibes I wish my kids had cousins, and I have no idea if my brother and wife will have children. I"m praying they will, because if would be fun to have nieces of nephews:)
**When are you leaving on vacation? I'm an early packer and packer planner too ::yes:: By the end of August I will have a pad of paper out on my dresser so I can write down things I want to pack so I don't forget.
I'm really glad my kids have cousins fairly close in age. They had such a great time together this week, even Sophia. My nephew - 7 1/2 yrs - really seemed to take an interest in playing with both Ian and Sophia, which somewhat surprised me - in a happy way. I'm so glad they live just a day's drive away, now. Not a jump in the car kind of trip, but doesn't need a whole lot of planning if we want to get together.

We're leaving mid-August for CA and I'm getting so excited about it finally. As soon as the bed in the guest room is remade I'm taking out 4 large suitcases to start putting stuff into. First on the list... 2 Fish Extenders!!!

RRBB - I haven't started packing or even thinking about packing either. It sounds so nice that yiu sister was in and the kids had a great time. Is Ian's camp all day?? Ian's at camp from 8:45 to 12:45 every day. They are keeping the kids so busy that Ian's wiped by mid-afternoon. He's fallen asleep in the car several times this week. :)

Thanks for putting our names on the DT list. I'm really trying to keep up with the plans, but it's so hard when lately I don't even have time to get on the computer every day. Are you linking your dining? I'm still debating it.

I made OF go shopping for shorts a couple weeks ago. I didn't want him to wait until time to pack and then not be able to find any because all the fall clothes were out.

Wow, just 64 days??? I can't wait!

Oh, and congrats on getting the class you want next year.

We've never rebooked onboard before. But we'll definitely keep that date in mind if we do. ;) I can't wait to see your pics.

DanaUK.. great on having the class and the grade you want. WOO HOO..

BTW what is a bathroom suite??

A bathroom sute is what we call the combination of the bath, sink and toilet. And our new ones were delivered this morning at 6:40am!! Yes that says am!! Who delivers things at 6:40 on a Saturday morning! They are stored in the garage at the moment with all the new wall and floor tiles, new shower, new towel radiator and the new lights!! We need to get the bathroom done before we leave for America.

Well seen as the new bathroom suite is here now I guess we will be driving up north to the coast in a few minutes so I guess I had better go and wash the breakfast things up and throw some stuff into the overnight bag. Oh and I better take my Disneyland Paris guide book and maps so I can show my parents so we can decide on things they would like to do when we go there in October!!

Have a fab weekend everyone. :yay:

Okay i can do that.. is that a dummy cruise or are you really going on it???

Truthfully, it was booked as a dummy date...as I'm also hoping for something wonderful in 2010. We have a family vacation next summer (Jackson Hole) and I didn't think I could do two 'real' vacations financially. But I'm becoming VERY attached to the idea of Tortola and this particular cruise. So much so that I'm willing to pack my lunch for a year! :lmao: Also, as I'm getting older and creekier, I don't like the idea of putting off some of these adventure so far into the future. And finally, I've increased lottery ticket purchase to one per week instead of just occasionally! ;)

I hear ya.. do it now while you'll still enjoy it and have fun rather than wait ... but 2009 I think will be hard for me to swing a cruise financially.. Geoff will be at his first year of college.. so i'll be paying for that and saving for Eric and retirement et al.. of course if i am not employed ... :stir: ::yes:: .. i can go and do what i want...:thumbsup2 but 2010 i can do!!!!

I am on the 'puter to start downloading music for the fishie CD gift.. I am trying to put together a CD with music from each port.. but i haven't found some.. but i will see what i can do...( shhh...don't tell anyone) I am still looking for van halen cabo wabo.. but i have lots of rickie martin and Los lobos and gloria estefan.. so moving on.. talk to ya later..

Will you be doing the Beach Boys for Aruba (that Kokomo song)? Throw in some steel drum or Jimmy Buffett for the east side of the trip....though Margaritaville could go either way...being a Mexican beverage and all. My gift CD had a nice instramental (steel drum) version of Changes in Latitudes on it.:thumbsup2

One of the cutest gifts we got was on the last day. It was the individual packets of Kleenex with "our" logo on it....very cute and some of them did get used that last day. :worried: Also someone made their own wrappers (with their user name) to go over the Hershey mini bars...also very cute.

Hi guys,
Well I'm back from my surprise visit to my parents at their holiday home (which they seem to spend more time at there than home these days!) I had a nice time. My parents volunteer on a steam railway so we went there to see them and then stopped the night at the holiday home. After the volunteers finish their shifts at the station they all have dinner together in the station masters cottage which we were invited to. All the veg for the meals is grown by the volunteers in the gardens by the railway. It is a really lovely place. My uncle was visiting as well which was great, I didn't know he would be there. The holiday home is on the coast, but the railway is a little further in land in an area called the Yorkshire Dales, to me it is one of the most beautiful areas of England. Here are a few pics I thought you might like (I'm still learning how to use my new camera before our American trip!!)

This is the station they work at.

My dad got Pete and I complimentary passes for the day so we went for a ride on the train.

Here are a few countryside shots I took

If you ever get chance to come to England I really recommend a visit here as it is stunning.

Slo My knee is a lot better now, thanks for asking. I have some cartlidge isues which flare up in humid weather, but it is better now.

Oh well, now I am back I guess I had better get my weekend chores done plus my school planning for tomorrow.

DanaUK, GREAT photos. Oh, I love Yorkshire and want to go back, as it's now been 30 years (!) since I've been there!

One of my WBPC cruise mates is researching cottages to rent in England, I don't know if she's looking in that part of the country, but I think I'll recommend that she look in Yorkshire also!

great pictures.. thanks for sharing... is that the train to hogwarts?? or thomas the tank engine??

ibouncetoo I didn't realise you had visited Yorkshire, where abouts did you visit? I really miss not living in Yorkshire any more. I grew up in Leeds, where all my family still live and at the weekends/holidays at our holiday home in Filey which is a small fishing town on the east coast.

Geffric I believe the caridges you can see in the picture and the one I was standing in to take the photo were the ones used in the Harry Potter films. The railway my parents volunteer on have the Hogwart Express, it is usually either on the line doing special theme runs or in the engine shed being made beautiful for the films!! At the moment I believe it is out on location though filming. The station at the start of the line is Hogwarts Station (actually called Grosmont in real life.) I'll look forward to the CD, it will give us somthing to listen to in the car on the way to las Vegas!!! Oh I think Thomas the Tank Engine is in the railway museum at York. How sad is it that I know these things!! :confused3 :rolleyes1

My trip to the UK was in 79 and we spent a week in London, then went to Wales (Snowdonia area) then one day in the Lake Districk in Windermere then two days in the city of York, then back to London before heading home. York was my favorite part...ok...ok....probably a tie with Wales, a village called Betws-y-coed (or something like that). I spent about 90 minutes on the computer this morning looking at self catering cottages in the Yorkshire Dales. I really must come into some big $$$ soon, I so don't want to do anything but travel anymore!

.

We had a very nice day yesterday!!! :goodvibes

Everyone came over, and we sat outside while the girls were in the pool. As the dad's were opening presents, it was raining, but by the time presents were done, and the dinner was done being made, the rain was over, and we went and ate outside. But boy.....it was chilly!!!!!! We had to go inside, and put some sweatshirts on. Then after dinner, we played some bean bags, and then everyone went home. It was a very very nice day!!!!! :goodvibes

This morning, the girls and I have to leave early, so I can make a delivery before I go to work. The girls know about this, but they will not be happy when it's time to wake them up :sad2: They will be crabby, crabby, crabby!!!!!

Danauk - Thank you so much for sharing those photos!!!!:) Everything looks so beautiful - like something out of a movie!!!! I would love to visit England someday. Kevin has no desire to go overseas, so maybe when the girls are older, we'll take an all girl trip :goodvibes
**I'm glad your knee is doing better :)

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I guess I should get into the shower and get my day going
Have a good day today everyone!!
