Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

DanaUK, I'll check on that for you if I remember

Le Brea Bakery at DTD doesn't open earlier that that? I'll double check that too.

.

Ooh if you could check for me you would be a super star  :yay::flower3: I hope you have a great time, I am so envious that you can go so easily!!

Hi Danauk! ;)

Morning Taglikins!

Well last night I used Priceline for the first time! This weekend is a DIS meet at DTD for about 40 of my cruise mates and I had not planned on going, but as the time approached I was whinning that I wouldn't be there. After being shot down by sis and a couple of friends, I was unable to find someone to go with me (to share expenses and keep my company on the drive). Yesterday afternoon I looked at hotels on expedia, etc, but couldn't find anything that wasn't at least $100. Too much for me when you had to count in gas and the dinner Sat night (OK and breakfast buffet at Storytellers...CAN'T not do that). Well, a friend had said they had often gotten the Crowne Plaza Resort when choosing a 3star on priceline. So first I called the resort and got their rate($167 incl tax), then I checked on line at thei site (about 20-25 checper than that). THEN I did a priceline bid for a 3 star at Disneyland and got the Crowne Plaza for $45. YES FOURTY-FIVE DOLLARS (plus tax about $51)!!!

So, I'm going to Disney this weekend! :woohoo: Not actually going to the parks, but I'll be there, meeting more cruisers and some old friends too! Now I just have to rent some books on tape to listen to while I do the 5 1/2 hour drive each way. :cool1:

Have a great HUMP day everyone!

.

GREAT RATE!! wow that is wonderful.. have a great time.. wish i could go but it is Passover this weekend, so i need to make soup, matzo balls, turkey, veggies etc.., ( plus clean the house since the boys will have been home all week alone..:scared1: i may have to double clean..

DanaUK - when we were at DL there was a cafe kinda place at the GC that was great for breakfast.. not fancy or waitressed but still was ok..

Wallyb the image!!!!!!!! I could not imagine HM in such a state!! And indeed I have met her (truthfully I did when I was 7 years old!!) Shame on you:eek: :cool2: On a seperate note, I went shopping for Stella today (I have never been dog shopping before so I went for, well things that were like me and English!!) Your box is being posted tomorrow :cool1: .

Geffric do you recall if that was Whitewater snacks (kind if like counter service with fridges) or Hearthstone lounge, nearer the check in desk at the front of the hotel? Man, if the parks open at 7am, therefore need people to line up before then, I really wish they would make breakfast beforehand easier to get!! The 7am bit doesn't bother me as the UK time zone is 8 hours ahead so me getting in line at 7am is 3pm according to my body!! Now when I come to watch the fireworks at 9:30pm and my body thinks it is 5:30am that is a whole other story!! :scared1: I have never had breakfast problems at WDW (we always have a 2 bedroomed DVC villa) or at Disneyland Paris where breakfast and park passes are included in the price before! Man, learning about 3 Disney locations is sure hard work!!:cloud9:

it prob was whitewater snacks.. it was far from then main lobby..we did the buffet at CG too.. That was wonderful..

Do the parks really open at 7 am?? DCA used to open much later then DL. When we were there it opened about 11 ish.. and DL opened at 9 am..

i just checked on the DL website.. and it said that DL opened at 8 am and DCA at 10 am.. do they have emh??

GeffricWhen we are there in the summer DL opens at 8am and DCA opens at 10am. The DL park has early entry (Magic Mornings) Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and as we are staying on site we get to use all the MM days if we wanted to. Anyone who has a 3 day or more park pass can use 1 MM. On MM days the park opens an hour before the stated time and selected rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open. DCA typically opens at 9:30 for everyone, but just to ride Soarin. We are planning to use one of our MM's to ride Peter Pan, Alice, Matterhorn etc then the other to ride Nemo.

I am excited this morning as my new digital camera has just arrived, I have to wait 90 minutes though for the battery to charge up!! I was going to do school work today, but I think now that can wait until tomorrow and today I can learn how to use my camera!! I think I will be hanging out on the Dis photography board a lot now!!

I hope everyone has a great day.

Today is my doctors appointment - I"m curious on what is going on with me.
I've cut out almost all sugars this week, and I've been feeling like a new person:thumbsup2 No headache, I'm not tired and irritable - it's great!!!! The last couple of weeks I've felt like absolute garbage - so it's great to be feeling so good

Danauk - How is Pete doing today? I'm so sorry to hear about his accident :guilty: I'll send mountains of PD for his finger to heal up and feel better soon :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Belle - That's to bad that you haven't seen your Dsis in years:guilty: Hopefully the new baby will make her want to see you and the rest of your family more.
**I hope everything works out with The Beasts work, and it doesn't ruin your vacation :wizard: Please keep us posted!! :grouphug:

Wally - Out of the 3 (Bette, Cher, or Elton) who would you like to see most? If it were me, this would be tough. My heart would want to see Elton (he's one of my very most favorites), but then I would think that I should see someone I've never seen before :scratchin I realize you won't have a choice, but if you could choose :scratchin

geffric - :wave2:

ibounce - Kevin just used Priceline recently too, and I think he is officially hooked. He got a great room, for a great price, down in Indianapolis during the month of May (him and his best friend go there every weekend in May to the Speedway).
**Have fun this weekend at your DIS Meet :cool1:

Well, I guess I should go and get ready for this doctors appointment
Have a good day today everyone!!!

That's so hard.:headache:
I've seen Bette 3 times
Elton 2 times.
and Cher once.
They were all great.

I think it would be between Bette and Elton.
And mostly because of the staging of their vegas shows- which is unique to the venue.
The Cher Vegas show I have not heard many details about yet.
But she was great here in Boston - and very funny.

WOW  I'ts going to be like Christmas in April (or May) depending on the fab US post ;) .
I'm hoping to get yours in the mail next week - I'm planing to go to a few places
I don't usually go, :tiptoe: to get some stuff I don't usually buy.
Clandestine enough for ya?

I do think that's the real HRM.
She's not as stodgy as one would think.

And Doll... FYI the show Love does not have one Heather Mills scene in it-
or even :scared: a yoko one,

:wizard: NC Beast has a 90% chance of having our vacation date of 9/4-12 off. His department was finally given the okay of having 2 employees from another department transferred by next month.

I have been playing with our new camera--- a Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd. It has some cool features like panoramic mode (on camera stitching of up to 3 pictures), red eye removal (automatically detects and corrects red-eye reflections), and its 10mp with 12x optical. Its not top of the line, but it will be handy this year with vacation and baby nephew photos.

I hope that we get to DL and DLP someday, but we kinda need to stick to the east coast this year.

edit---- okay---We may be going to WDW on the last week of Aug./Labor Day weekend. NC Beast is okay with August----longer late night hours at the parks.

NCBelle Our 1st trip to WDW was the last 2 weeks of August and it was amazing. Long park hours and low crowds. I would love to go there at that time again. My friends didn't care for the humidity, myself however thought it was perfect, I don't mind the humidity at all, I thought it was perfect and would love to go at this time again!! If you go at this time I am sure it will be amazing!!

Hi all!! :wave2:

I'm stopping by for a quick post before I work out and then get ready for work.

My doctors appt was uneventful the other day.
They drew some blood, and I'm going to return on May 10th for a 3 hour glucose intolerance test. My doctor is concerned that the blood test won't show much, because I've been so strict with myself this week (sugarwise). I"m sure that glucose test will give whatever results are needed to come to a conclusion - so we'll see what happens!!!

That's about it from me
Have a good weekend everyone!!!

The sun is really shining here this morning :sunny:
It's going to be a beautiful day around here!!!! :goodvibes

Have a good Sunday everyone!!

Slo I'm sorry to hear about your health worries. My dad was diagnosed as a diabetic 2 years ago and he controls his issues through his diet. Right now he is the healthiest I have ever known him. He has to watch his sugar levels and monitors them, but health wise he is so much better now a days.

This weekend we went to visit my family. We stayed at my parents house last night, but went up to help my Uncle with is home cinema system. Then we had a lovely family meal out with my parents, auntie and 2 uncles. My family are very close (my mum, her sister and BIL live in the same street and her brother lives 5 minutes away. My dad, like me was an only child) It saddens me that I don't see them as much as I would like to (the last time I saw them was Christmas and probably the next time will be in August when my parents and then my Uncle are house sitting for us whilst we go to America. They are looking after the pets for us!!)

Well tomorrow I have to go back to work, I am not looking forward to it at all. In 5 weeks time we have the inspectors in for a day again, then in July we have a big inspection. On Tuesday the head teacher is watching my lesson as well, to say how I can get better!!

On the plus side, I get to book my O and Ka Cirque Du Soliel tickets for when we go to Las Vegas next week!!

Me again!!

I'm pondering a Disney trip with my parents (our treat). It is their 40th wedding anniversary in October and they have never been to a Disney park. They know I love Disney and they love steam trains like Walt did. I was thinking of taking them to DLP for a few days, paid for by us. We could do the things they would like and maybe a day in Paris (my mum has always wanted to go to paris!!) We could do the things I think they would like (so no coaster for me!!) and have a relaxing family time. Oh and travel is not a problem for them. They are talking about a trip to Australia to visit 2 of my mums cousins next year!!
I just wish I could afford to take them to WDW for a week!!

:surfweb:

Danauk - Thanks for your kind words  I'm truly not stressing about it :sad2: because I feel so much better now that I'm not eating sugars. Even if these test show me as normal, there's something in sugar that is giving me a migraine headache, and I'm still not going to eat it:sad2: But if the test does show any type of Diabetes, it'll be good to know so I can monitor things, and then have an answer to why I was feeling the way I was. I'll keep you all posted!!!!
**How awesome about you giving your parents a trip for their anniversary:goodvibes Kevin's parents are celebrating their 40th anniversary is 2 weeks, and we have no idea what to give them:sad2: Any suggestions???

Well, I guess I need to get going so I can get my walk in this morning.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

July!?!
What is the school year like in England?
The kids here would be out for summer vacation in July.

Slo - I missed something Somewhere!
I had no Idea you were dealing with this.
Hope you're okay.
I don't know how I'd deal with  no sugar.
Hope they come out with sugar free M&Ms. ::yes::

Our school year is totally different to America. We do:
Term 1: 1st week of September for 6 or 7 weeks
Week off
Term 2: usually 8 weeks
2 weeks off Christmas break
Term 3: 6 or 7 weeks
Week off
Term 4: 6 or 7 weeks - long weekend for Easter (we have Friday and Monday off)
2 week spring break
Term 5: 5 or 6 weeks
Week off
Term 6: 6 or 7 weeks which takes us to the 3rd week of July.
5 week summer break.
Plus there are 3 public holidays as well in there when we get a Monday off.

I think it works out the same number of weeks in school, we just have more breaks throughout the year and a shorter summer holiday.
