Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Wallyb Have you ever been to my fair land? I'm sure you would love it!!

OH YES! I really want to go. but Paul I don't think is that into it-
but he just like travel in general -
so I'm sure I could nag nag nag him into it.

So here a Brit and a theater question for you -
I've always wondered -
So I saw this rerun - or part of it anyway - of an old TV show called Still Standing
with Mark Addy Johnson as the dad. And it always amazes me when British actors do american accents. Mark Addy's is flawless.
Is it had to do? To me - as with other accents - I don't see anything particularly odd/ quirky about our accent that one could capitalize on.

Belle - Your sister ran the marathon while she was expecting? That's amazing!!! :)
*I'll continue to keep your FIL in my prayers!!

I guess I didn't proofread....I should had type BIL ran the race. She had to cut back on her running...but, she usually practices her clairnets for hours on end and her last concert was a week or so ago.

I thought that running a marathon would be a little intense for an expectant mom. Good for you BIL for running that marathon!! I always wanted to run a marathon, but I don't think that is ever going to happen - my knees just can't take it :guilty: I've tried running again the last couple of weeks, and my knees just KILL me!!! So I will keep up the speed walking, and hope to do the WDW Marathon as a walker someday - it's the next best thing :teeth:

Don't feel bad Slo -
I took just 3 days off from the gym to spoil my nephew -
while he was in Boston-
and my thighs are kill me now that I'm back to my daily gym routine.
I go down stairs like I'm a little old lady.
I know it will pass but, jeepers!

:surfweb:

Does anyone here watch ER?
Does anyone here think that it's time for that show to go away?
I started watching that show at the very beginning, and have NEVER missed an episode, and I have vowed to see it through until the end. I just can't get over how bad this show has gotten:sad2: it sorta makes Kevin and I laugh every Thursday. I got season 1 for Christmas, and when I watch it, it blows me away about how awesome that show used to be. All good things need to come to an end, and this show is one of those things ::yes::
(no offense to those that disagree)

The only thing for me, is that my knee pain won't pass:guilty:
I do have knee issues, and I went to physical therapy last year too. My knees are all out of alignment, and when I bend, or go up and down stairs, they crackle (like I'm stepping on Rice Krispies). When they get to aggravated, they become very painful, and this what happens when I run. Their not liking the speed walking either, but that's to bad, I'm still doing it until I can't handle the pain anymore:rolleyes:

What type of workout do you enjoy?
You mentioned going to a gym - do you feel that you get your moneys worth? I often wonder if I should join a gym, but then I get to cheap (I can be a bit of a cheapskate  )

You know everyone asks me - "oh, don't you just love going to the gym?
And you know what - NO. For me it's just a necessary evil.
I'll keep "it" up - but it's just so I can keep "it" off.
I can think of a hundred things I'd rather be doing than
drenched in sweat peddling my guts out on the elliptical trainer.
ani-mouse-1-1.gif

Did that sound grumpy?
I think it did.::yes::
I need candy.;)
As for the cost - the membership it's self is not too bad -
but I had a trainer for a while and that got $pricey$.
But, I wish I could go back to him.
Maybe after one of my big client pays up.
The up side of it is - I flirting with an 100 lbs loss
(the scale needle seems to "bounce"
weighing-1.gif
a bit depending on what I ate the night before)
and I'm now a size smaller than I was in high school!

Slo - Are you going to have to think about something more "invasive"
for you knee - or do you think you can just treat it
with therapy and drugs?

NC Beast's father called last night---diagnosis confirmation, but with hormone therapy plus another therapy that is pretty new, but men tend to live at least 4 years longer on the average. FIL is very optimistic and can't wait to do more singing/other activities for the "old people"---his birthday was last week...71 years old.

Slo---I used to belong to a gym when I was in college/single. I sufggest asking your doctor on what he or she think is best for your knees.

Slo Sorry you are having so much knee pain. I used to watch ER, but stopped watching it last season as I agree it was not as good as it used to be. I am however looking forward to visiting the set in the summer when we do the VIP tour at Universal Hollywood!

Wallyb I hate going to the gym too!! I like going swimming so often do that instead of the gym cardio workout.

NCBelle I hope your FIL responds well to his treatments. PD to him.

Well I'm glad it is the weekend. Today our friends are coming over to help Pete finish build the rabbit run. My friend and I are going shopping to my favourite garden centre. Now the weather is getting warmer I need to get out into the garden and tidy it up after the winter. I'm having a rest today as I have a lot of school work to do tomorrow. On Monday I have to do a maths lesson with an advisor, then I am being observed on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm getting really sick now of the constant observations!!

:surfweb:

Today is the BIG day!!!!! (Stephanie's First Communion)
I can't believe it's finally here:guilty: :) (2 smilies for that one)
Stephanie has to be at the church by 8:30am for professional photos. After I drop her off, I have to go back home and get Katie ready. Then Kevin, Katie, and I will get back to the church by 9:20am (thank goodness we live really close). After Mass we are going to a hall and having a party with approx 50 guests - it should be really nice:goodvibes So it's going to a very busy, and emotional day - I'm ready though, I already stuffed my purse with tissues :thumbsup2

Wally - Eventually, I'm going to have to have a double knee replacement, but I'm not doing anything like that for a very very very long time. I did go to physical therapy for several months last year, but in my opinion, it did more harm than good. My knees killed me while I was there:eek: and I don't believe it helped (I felt the same way about my neck when I went for physical therapy for that). I wish I could get a cortisone shot in my knees, but that was never offered, so I'm assuming it's not helpful for something like that (I get cortisone shots in my feet, because each foot has a heal spur, and the shot really helps that). So, in the meantime, I'm going to just deal with it.
**The way you posted about the gym, is how I really think I would feel too, which is a reason why I've held off going. Plus, I don't like people seeing me exercise:sad2: Whenever I go out to walk, I ALWAYS wear my sunglasses - it could be cloudy and spitting rain, and I"m still wearing my sunglasses:laughing: I just don't want people recognizing me:sad2:
**Congrats on you fantastic weight loss:cheer2: I bet you are so proud of yourself!!!!

Belle - What was your FIL confirmed with? I'm glad that their is good treatment, and that he is handeling everything really well. I will continue keeping him in my thoughts and prayers:angel:
**I have asked them, and basically, I shouldn't be doing anything like I'm doing:sad2: . Something like swimming is best, but I don't have time to go to a gym to swim:sad2: So, I'm just going to do whatever I want (I'm such a bad patient:laughing: ) But, I've gained to many inches since doing nothing, and I don't like it:sad2: So, I'm going to continue with the walking, and I've accepted that my running days are officially over:sad1:

Danauk - Have fun with your friends today :cool1: and good luck with your observations next week:wizard: and thanks about the knee pain. The pain does stink, but me feeling better due to exercising is better:thumbsup2

Well, I have to go make myself beautiful for the day (just to get all misty eyed once I"m at the church:sad1: ) All these kids are going to look like little angels today:angel:

Have a good day today everyone!!

So, are you going to Vegas? So, are the hotels there smokey in the public areas? Just wondering...I can't be near smokers for too long with my asthma-like symptoms.
The hotels are very smokey and just to go to your room you have to walk thru a smokey casino.. even if it isn't really smokey bad there is the stale smell of smoke in the air... gag and gasp..

SLO congrats on DStephanie's confirmation.. :cloud9: princess:
I used to belong to the Y but they kept raising the dues and it got to a point that the cost per year was equal to 1/2 the cost of buying an ellipical and putting it in the basement. so i dropped the memebrship and bought the ellicptical..you can come over anytime and use it..

Hi.. just a quick drive by.. have been very very busy at work... so no chance to DIS.. today Scott and geoff are at Spring Campereee.. and Eric is umpiring 2 baseball games.. I am doing laundry and cleaning and going to the grocery store.. then later on I am going to dinner with my friends at a place called the Parrot Cage in the old South Shore CC.

Well my grandmother get cortisone shots in her knees.
And I have another friend who did the knee replacement -
and after all the recover and therapy he said "Why didn't I do this sooner" - because he felt so much better and
his quality of life was so much better.

I have to 'ditto' that from a co-worker who had it done. She said it was just hard to decide when to 'allocate' the recovery time...something a mom and shop owner like yourself would find difficult too, I imagine.

Only this weekend and next before the cruise. Just did ANOTHER Target run and will be making final decisions of clothes tomorrow...just in case there is still something I need to shop for. I'm getting REALLY EXICETED HERE KIDS! :woohoo:

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

:cheer2: Congrats to Slo's Stephanie! I bet she was pretty in her communion dress. Our youngest niece is having her first communion next week.

Slo--- I don't want to risk getting flagged/banning in case the first word of FIL's cancer is on a certain no-no list(heard that there was a recent banning of people and I don't know details on who got kick off and the reasons)...but, it is one's of a male only cancers which quickly spread to his bones in the femurs, pelvic area, spine (include the vertabrae in the neck), a lot of ribs, and shoulders. We were thrown for a loop and this happen after MIL had to go through testing for tumors on her spine and several other problems (she had issues before Easter/his flared up while in TX for Easter)---so far no cancer for MIL and she is being treated by top notch doctors in the field). They both were given the blessing of the sick by several priest friends. They are both positive that they can overcome their recent illnesses.

FIL just started his treatment plan so in 8 weeks...we hope to hear the word "remission" and hopefully in future even better words.

Okay---Las Vegas is moving into the far distant future trip list. :thumbsup2

Good morning guys,
Well it a lovely sunny day here and I have to spend all day inside doing school work!! Not happy! Yesterday I was out in the garden all day helping Pete to build the new rabbit hutch and run for the pets. Hopefully it will be finished today.

Geffric I though I had read that Vegas casinos had to be smoke free now? Although I guess what the rules are and if they are followed are different things!! From our last trip (years ago!) I don't remember smoke being a problem. But then again we didn't go down to the casino floor at its busiest time. I guess it really was/is an issue at that time. Oh well, I'm sure I will find out in the summer. Here in the UK all indoor public places are smoke free (and the rules are inforced) so we are really used to this over here now so I think this time it might be more noticable.

Slo How did the communion go? I bet Stephanie looked very pretty in her dress.

NCBelle I hope your FIL is doing well with his treatments.

Wallyb No sign of a parcel yet? It was sent over a week ago now!

Well I have a pile of maths and English books to mark and lessons to plan (especially for my observed ones) for next week so I should get on with that.

Have a great day everyone.

Yesterday was a fabulous day!!!!!! :goodvibes
The church service was wonderful, and boy was it packed with people (standing room only, with people smouched (sp?) together:eek: ). I could just see how Kevin was thinking that was over Fire Code:laughing: All the kids looked beautiful:angel: and the priest did a fabulous job explaining to the kids exactly what they were about to do - it was just great!!!!! :)

After Mass we went to the hall, and that was great too. The catering company (people I know) did a beautiful job with everything. The food was great, the service was awesome, it made the day perfect!!!! :goodvibes It was also so nice to visit all the friends and family that came - loved it!!!! Stephanie was in her glory with being the center of attention:cloud9:

After the party a couple of friends came back to the house and chilled out with us for awhile - that was nice!!!! :goodvibes Then we got some pizza for dinner (I was starving because I barely ate at the party) and then everyone went home. What a great great great day!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks to all that gave their congratulations to Stephanie - I'll be sure to show her:goodvibes

geffric - Thanks for the invite!!!!:goodvibes If we were closer, I would take you up on that ::yes:: I've always wanted to try one out, because I want to convert the playroom into and exercise room someday (when Katie is older).

Wally - I'm definitly going to consider the knee replacements once the girls are old enough to take care of themselves completely. Until then, it would be so so hard to have the recovery (plus I need to be 100% for the store). Down deep I'm scared to death about having a knee replacement done because that's how my Grandma passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago. She went in for a knee replacement and never came home:sad1: . Granted, I know that doesn't happen to everyone, but naturally it scares me that it could happen to me.

ibounce - I bet you are getting so excited!!! :sail: :cool1:

Belle - I understand, and I'm thinking I know what it is ::yes:: I'll continue to keep him in my prayers:angel:

Danauk - I"m sorry you have to work today :guilty: Hopefully you'll get it done quick:wizard:

I'm off and running, to catch up on some work around the house
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Okay---Las Vegas is moving into the far distant future trip list. :thumbsup2

Oooo :sad2: don't bump it - I don't smoke - never have -
and although there are moments when the smoke can be a bit much -
I'd say as a whole it not that bad.
You should still consider going - you might break the back. ;)

Wallyb No sign of a parcel yet? It was sent over a week ago now!

Danauk- Sorry - It's been Nutz here at hotel "Walter & Paul".
But final check out just happened today!
Yes - it got here Friday late... and... ... almost all the chocolate is gone already! Just a bit left.
Love those melts and that bar that said it was "for boys only"-
Sorry don't remember the name. But it's all :goodvibes great.
Stella loves :dogdance: the kitty and the squeaky squeaky squeaky ball.
All the other stuff is great too. :love2:
I've finally got my last element for mine so off it goes this week. I'll PM you when it does so you can be on the look out!
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
