Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Slo Tokyo has a copy of the WDW castle and Hong Kong has a copy of the Disneyland Sleeping Beauty castle (or is it the other way round, I forget!) So there is one other Cinderellas castle and 3 Sleeping Beauty. The Paris Castle is unique as Europeans have so many castles in our culture (I have a castle 2 minutes from my house!!) The Paris castle is a mixture of Famous French and German castles so it is not modelled on any one castle in particular.

http://www.rockinghamcastle.com/ This is the castle near my house, the castle is 900 years old, parts of the walls are over 1000 years old!!

I'm back again. We went to our best friends this afternoon for their birthday, at it looks like another WDW trip is happening!!! Whooooo. It looks like we are going to WDW for Christmas 2009 (I can't believe I have just got back from DLP, have a trip booked for DL and have a trip in the making for WDW!!!!) Although as we are huge Harry Potter fans we want to go to the new Harry Potter world at Universal which it says will be open late 2009 early 2010. So do we go to WDW christmas 2009 and risk Harry Potter world being open by then. Or do we wait another year? At this point remember we have to pay $5000 in flight for the 4 of us!!

Personally I am tempted to go 2009 and take the chance on Harry Potter being open by then (hey we still get a WDW trip!!). If Harry Potter isn't open by then, well, let face it, I doubt 2009 would be the last WDW trip ever, so it gives me something to look forward to in another future trip. I'm right, yeah????

:surfweb: We may have to go on our WDW a few days earlier...so my timer may change soon.

NCBelle Where are you planning to stay for your WDW trip? How is your sisters pregnancy doing? I hope she is OK. I bought a few things for my nephew at DLP. I wanted to buy the Tigger and Mickey baby costumes but Pete wouldn't let me!!

It sure seems quiet here today. It looks like our WDW christmas 2009 trip is on. I mean if the Hary Potter section at Universal isn't open that means an excuse for a new trip hey!!

Today I finally managed to persuade Pete I could order a DSLR camera. I have been wanting one for ages and have been reading about how to create good photos before our DLP trip. I got lots of great responses to my photos on the DLP boards so I finally ordered a new camera today. I'm really excited about this as I have been wanting one for ages. I guess I need to hang out on the photographers board on the Dis now. Have you seen some of the pictures there? They are amazing!!

Well it is late here, so I guess I should be heading off to bed.

Have a great evening everyone.

NC Beast may have to adjust his request so ? on the start/end date. I have a camera ordered---an upgrade with red eye prevention programmed already built in.

My sister is doing okay---busy with her job and some performances (2nd clairnet) in Boston (forgot what she's in---its not Boston Pops).

The baby has no name yet since my sister had a list of girl names, but none for boys at the time of her ultrasound.

Glad you sis is doing fine.
Is it the BSO she's in?

Belle - Don't you kinda like :lovestruc the WDW planning phase?
I do. It's kind like a strategic game?

Hi all!!! :wave2:

Sorry I haven't been checking in in the morning. I started working out again, and I start at 6am. Yesterday was step box and today I walked 2 miles - I love working out!!! I'm just hoping my knees can handle it, because I'll be bummed out if they can't :guilty:

Thursday I'm going to the doctor to see if I'm hyperglycemic. I've been having all the tell tale signs, and Kevin is really convinced that I am. So I'll get some blood work done, and that will say if I am or if I'm not. All I know is the last 2 days I've been really watching my sugar intake (I cut it down immensly) and I've been feeling great :woohoo: For the last 2 weeks I've been feeling like crap, and when I retrace my steps, I felt the worst after I ate something sugary. So we'll see what happens!!!

Danauk - Wow, that castle by your house is extrodinary (sp?)!!!! I bet it's as incredible inside, and it is on the outside.
*That's awesome about the possible Christmas trip - how fun!!!:santa:

Belle - That's great about getting to WDW earlier than expected :woohoo: Will you have to totally change your ADR's?
*That's awesome about your sis playing in an orchestra - do you get to see her often?

Wally - I love love planning my trips:love: I need to get started for our next trip - I can start making my ADR's at the end of this month, and I haven't even started planning yet:eek: Things with this trip are so different this year, because we are staying off site, we are going to Sea World, and I may be walking in the Tower of Terror run on Oct 25th. So this itinerary is seeming a little harder to plan than other onees - but I will prevail!!!!!:upsidedow \

Well, I gotta run and get Katie some lunch - she saying she's hungry
Have a good rest of the day everyone!!!

Slo the castle is beautiful on the inside, espacially at Christmas. Charles Dickens used to stay there a lot and that is where he wrote parts of Oliver. The castle and the village is also the place Bleake House is based on. They still have Charles Dickens's writng chair inside.
Well done on the excercise routine, I have to admit my gym routines have slipped since getting back from DLP. I think once I am back at work next week I will get back into things.

Wallyb I love the planning phase too, luckily I am now into DL planning after my DLP trip. I can book my Las Vegas shows and dining reservations at the end of this month.

Well this afternoon was interesting. Pete was doing some DIY rebuilding the rabbit run. I suddenly heard lots of "Ouch, Ouch" coming from downstairs. He managed to cut his finger on the circular saw, so it was off to the ER for a 2 hour general sit around and wait. All they did was bandage it up to stop the bleeding and gave him some antibiotics. He has to go see the nurse on Thursday for it re dressing.

Oh well, better go!!

Glad you sis is doing fine.

I just googled it---she is in the New England Philharmonic and the Longwood Symphony Orchestra. I have not seen her play for them (I think that she has a performance next week). She is very busy with her full-time job and this as a past-time. Sis had toured Europe (including Russia) and China as a part of a youth program---not sure what year...but, I think it was in 1994 or 1995. The baby likes her playing her clairnets (she has several) according to our Mom.

NC Beast is having approval on having 2 fridays off in a row (another guy requested ahead of NC B. so it is being worked on still).

I have not seen Sis in years---she is always busy and spends most of her free time with the hubby's family. She replies to e-mails.

Paul and I just started to talk about another Vegas trip.
We hope we can catch at least 2 of the 3 Caesars Palace divas.
Bette Cher or Elton. But that will be hard to do timeing wise since they rotate.
And we want to stay at the new Palazzo Resort -
They have the Jersey Boys there - gotta see that too.
Also if we wait till after the summer - the new Cirque/ Chris Angel show should be up and running at Luxor.

DL - has my very fave ride of all the parks I've been to so far.
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye! :woohoo:

Wallyb I would like to stay at the Palazzo in the future too, we will definately check it out in August. This time we have a week booked at the Bellagio lake view. We have stayed at the Venetian in the past which I love (although we did get up graded to a 2 bedroom high roller suite that you can't book and they only usually give out to their whales!!!! We are teachers in the UK, so not a high roller lol!! It had a 12 seat marble dining table, 4 toilets, 2 jacuzzis, a steam room and a sauna!! Plus it was on the 2nd to top floor at the end of the Y shape so it had a view both ways up and down the strip. Oh and it came with a buttler - how the other half live!!)

Cher is on at Ceasers whilst we are there, if it was Elton we would have booked it. But we decided to see 2 Cirque shows instead, O and Ka. Plus we have a helicpoter and river rafting trip to the Grand Canyon booked with a walk on the glass bridge.) Oh and I want to ride all the coasters and do the indoor skydiving again! I am looking forward to the Indy ride at DL. I love the disnosaur ride at WDW, and the Indy ride at DLP is a looping rollercoaster not at all like DL. The theaming of the ride at DLP is amazing but the ride is quite standard by coaster standards.

Loved KA.
It's my fav - in Vegas so far -
but they (cirque shows) are all amazing.
Not going to see Love? Bad Brit!

Bellagio :lovestruc - we loved our stay there.

I know, I'm a Brit, but being British the last thing I want to see in Vegas is anything to do with the Beatles!! I am so bored with the media coverage over here with the whole Sir Paul and Heather Mills divorce thing!
I love Cirque shows too, we have seen La Nuba at WDW and Delerium when it was on tour in the UK. I'm a club cirque member and they have just started ticket sales for another show in London next year. We just have to work out if we can see it the dates it is on.

:confused3 NC Beast called awhile ago---frustrated because the high demand for fridays off by his fellow co-workers is making it hard to schedule time-off. I hope that we can still take advantage of free dining.

I hope he can get some time off...

Good morning guys,

Geffric I ordered a Nikon D40x. I did quite a bit of research about which camera to get and several review magazines gave this the best reports for the 1st DSLR camera to get.
For our Christmas 2009 trip we will probably stay at the BCV again as that is where our friends own their points so it is easier to book for Christmas at the 11 month window rather than go on a wait list at 7 months. That suits me though as the BCV is my favourite because of location and SAB.

NCBelle I hope NCBeast manages to sort his time off out. I'm sure they will manage it somehow.

Everyone else, Hi!!

Well today I have a bit of running around to do. Pete can't drive due to the huge bandage on his finger and we need to go out and get more dressings for it and go see the nurse. Plus I need to do some housework. I have decided today will be the last day without doing school work, then tomorrow and Friday I really should get on with some. At the weekend we are going to visit my family. My uncle needs some home cinema advice from Pete!!

Right I better get a move on.

Morning Taglikins!

Well last night I used Priceline for the first time! This weekend is a DIS meet at DTD for about 40 of my cruise mates and I had not planned on going, but as the time approached I was whinning that I wouldn't be there. After being shot down by sis and a couple of friends, I was unable to find someone to go with me (to share expenses and keep my company on the drive). Yesterday afternoon I looked at hotels on expedia, etc, but couldn't find anything that wasn't at least $100. Too much for me when you had to count in gas and the dinner Sat night (OK and breakfast buffet at Storytellers...CAN'T not do that). Well, a friend had said they had often gotten the Crowne Plaza Resort when choosing a 3star on priceline. So first I called the resort and got their rate($167 incl tax), then I checked on line at thei site (about 20-25 checper than that). THEN I did a priceline bid for a 3 star at Disneyland and got the Crowne Plaza for $45. YES FOURTY-FIVE DOLLARS (plus tax about $51)!!!

So, I'm going to Disney this weekend! :woohoo: Not actually going to the parks, but I'll be there, meeting more cruisers and some old friends too! Now I just have to rent some books on tape to listen to while I do the 5 1/2 hour drive each way. :cool1:

Have a great HUMP day everyone!

.

ibouncetoo thats great news, what a great price, and breakfast at Storytellers, I am envious!! Ooh actually you might be able to answer a question I have been trying to find the answer to whilst doing my DL planning. You wouldn't happen to know what time the Hearthstone Lounge opens in the morning at the GCH? Also do they sell pasteries? I'm trying to do my morning planning and when we are there early entry starts at 7am, but I can't find any breakfast places that open before then! You would think they would, but don't!! I guess my other opetions are room service breakfast or buy some pasteries the night before and store them in the fridge!!

DanaUK, I'll check on that for you if I remember

Le Brea Bakery at DTD doesn't open earlier that that? I'll double check that too.
