Hi Guys,

Can anyone explain why the escape lounge at T1 allows under 6's and yet the T2 doesn't. I would have liked to book this from T2 (we're flying VA, which i'm fairly sure departs from T2) but can't becuase of DS who is only 5 (a very well behaved 5!) How annoying!!!!

Sounds odd, maybe as the Orlando flights are from that terminal so there 'could' be far more kids there, thus 'ruining' (if you know what I mean) the escape aspect.

We used the lounge last time, and in all honesty, meh, it's alright but nothing to lose sleep over if you don't use it :)

:goodvibes

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it was just some seats with some hot and cold drinks and some cold food and snacks. As it's not overly expensive it was probably about right for the price, but like I say, nothing special :)

Hi

Notsure if they have changed there policy since, we but went from T2 in December with Virgin and we had a 3yr old traveling with us, and had no problems using the lounge.:confused3

Didnt know there was a lounge at manchester:confused3How much is it and how dod I book it?:thumbsup2

Thanks for that luke. Does it have views of the runways? Just wondered as We like to watch the planes coming in etc. Wont be there till 7am so may not be worth it for us. It looks really small.:confused3

It is pretty small, and I can't remember there being a runway view, it was kind of on the 'inside' of the terminal if you know what I mean :)

Reading the booking page it has a booking option for age 6+ of £8.50, this may mean that under 6's are free.

That makes sense. I seem to think there is a lounge that allows children under 12 and one (or more) that does not. The only reason I didn't bother in the past is because staying at the Radisson SAS we have plenty chance to view the runway from our room so by the time we are ready to leave we want to be walking around and doing some shopping. You can view the planes on the runway from the seating areas at the gates if you don't go with the lounge option.

Theres an email address for any queries regarding the lounge, you could email them-
escape@manairport.co.uk

when we booked our holiday for August 2011 at a Virgin shop, we were told that there was a V-room planned for Manchester and it should be opened by our trip. :thumbsup2
Not sure if its def true but she seemed very well informed, just something to think of for the future :)

I've read the page in a little more detail - whilst this was a lovely thought, it says something like "under 6's are allowed access only by airline invitation". . .

Oh well........
