I HATE Adware. I want to put my hands around the neck of the people who invented it until they look like this :earseek: Its to the point where I have to use Ad-aware every day, at least twice. They are changing my homepage away from the DIS, deleting my google toolbar, and other fun stuff. I don't aprove. Does anyone have ideas on how to stop it from getting on my PC?

Brad

I love Ad-aware, and I don't have any of the problems you speak of. I run it every couple of days though to get rid of the cookies some sites put on my computer.

Brad says he has a problem with adware (spyware) and has to use Ad-aware often to rid his PC of the offending lurkers.

It is a problem, Brad. Make sure you have the current defs always, they update several times a week usually. Also, give Spybot S&D a try, in addition to Ad-aware, seems both run in conjunction well, fiding a few the other does not, both needed though.

Is ShopNav something that can be gotten rid of with some sort of download?

I don't have any problems with Ad-aware. Like Dan, I use Spybot with it also. What I DO have a problem with is AOL 9.0!!!!!! Now it's deleted all the folders I had set up for my e-mail that I want to keep. So not only are the folders gone, but everything I had in them. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! As I was shutting down the other night, I vaguely remember seeing a quick message that AOL files were being backed up. I don't know if this was prior or after the folders were missing. Might they all be backed up somewhere and I have no clue where???
