Hi everyone! This is my first trip report, so it may be a little choppy
I will try to make it as entertaining as possible and give as much detail as possible. If anyone has any other questions feel free to PM me! OK, so here it is...
Cast:
Me (26) - Have been to Disney four other times, most recent was 8 years ago.
BF (25) - Has been only two other times, didn't stay onsite for the most recent time.
Day 1, Part 2:
I walk over to guest relations (there was no line) and a very nice CM asks what she can do for me. I politely explain the situation to her and ask her if there are any other rooms in a different section (as long as its non-smoking). She says yes---I have a room on the 3rd floor in Casitas 3 PERFECT! Well take it. Magic!!!
I thanked her a million times and walked happily away with my new room key and room number in hand!
Our room couldnt have been in a more perfect location. It was on the 3rd floor, so it was pretty quiet. Plus it was pretty close to El Centro, so we had the option of either catching a bus at El Centro or at bus stop 2
Once inside, we unpacked and started getting ready for dinner. We left the hotel about 4:30 and headed over to Epcot. We got to the bus stop and which bus pulls up first---Epcot! More magic, I cant believe it! We got off the bus, and it hit me---we were in Disney World!!! I looked up at Spaceship Earth and almost cried. The memories it brings back ahhh .ok so I KNOW we were only there for dinner and Illuminations, but I couldnt resist Me: Honey, if there is no line can we PLEASE ride Spaceship Earth. BF: OK, but then we have to head over to Mexico. Me: OK!
There was no line walked right on it was perfect! I was soooo happy!
After Spaceship Earth, we headed over to World Showcase and were a little early for our AS. Didnt matter, they had a table ready and we could have it
Great! Our table was close to El Rio de Tiempo, but not right on top of it (thank goodness, because there were annoying Brazillian teens screaming while riding past the restaurant, not setting the most romantic mood). The dinner was pretty good, although I wasnt feeling that adventurous this evening so I didnt eat most of my dinner (I tend to have a bad stomach and it was acting up---I think I was just excited to be in Disney). BF LOVED his dish. I forgot what he got but it was some sort of Chicken dish with lots of cheese. I got the dish with steak, an enchilada, and something else. The steak was very tender and juicy (and I asked for it well done). If I was feeling better I would have definitely enjoyed it
After dinner we walked around the little carts by the restaurant and decided we should check out the wait time for Maelstrom. Score----it was only 15 minutes! We got on line and I tried to explain the ride to BF. I finally told him it was a silly boat ride and once the ride was over he agreed. He liked it and I smiled the whole time! After we rode Maelstrom it was almost 8 and we were both exhausted from waking up at 4 am and having a majorly long day. We decided we would skip Illuminations for the evening and said we would try to catch it later on in the trip. This was our attitude the whole time---Hakuna Matata---pretty much we will do whatever we can and if not there is always next time!
While walking back to the exit, we happen to pass by Test Track, and I hear the cars zooming around. I am so confused---Future World closed an hour ago---maybe they were finishing up for the evening? I tell my BF lets see if they will let us on? We look and the sign says 20 minute wait---I say lets go for it, and we get on line. So, now the line is moving pretty quickly, Im thinking WOW! I have never ridden this ride before and I am so excited to get to experience it on my first day! All of a sudden, the line stops---I mean dead stop---no one moving (not even FP line) NOOOO! WHY??? BF looks like he wants to get off the line---I sense a fight. He says we can stay on the line and it starts moving again 1 hour later, we find ourselves boarding the vehicle it was WELL worth it! I LOVED this ride (except for the hysterical 9 year old girl sitting behind us and her mother trying to calm her down she was scared and didnt want to ride but her mother forced her to ride it was not pretty they probably bought the pic to prove it)
After our AMAZING ride on Test Track, we boarded the bus for CSR Score again---it pulled up immediately after we got to the bus stop! After arriving in our room, we both passed out without a word to one another. Alarm was set for 7:30 am so we could be at AK for 9 am opening the next day and we needed all the sleep we could get. The clock read 10:30 when I shut the light
