Epic Mickey (1) Game.....Help

I haven't played Epic Mickey in a long time...and never finished the game completely which i am trying to do now. i forget how to get the gremlin out of the safe in ostown. I got the combination but i don't know what to do afterwards.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I jumped onto the roof corresponding the safe but nothing happened. I saw a walkthrough on youtube where they got the safe combinations and then went right up to the roof and the cartoon began and the gremlin was out... Am I missing something? I have a quest going where I have to thin out the theater which is the building with the safe attached.

I have it on the Wii console just to let you know.

Just for those who have been previewing this page since i got like 189 views and no posters, I got through the quest by dieing. For some reason it didn't activate until i died. i had to die in the game for a second quest I guess there's a glitch in the game.
