Epcot sit down or Flower & Garden Kitchens

Have resies at Le Cellier on Sat. 3/26 but am wondering if we should plan on visiting the outdoor kitchens instead. First trip to DW since 2006 (also during Easter/Spring Break) and I don't recall the flower show or outdoor kitchens. We kind of like to eat on the fly when in Disney and have the flexibility so the idea of the ODK sounds appealing vs having to show up at a set time for a particular meal. Anything I will miss if canceling Le Cellier? Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Thank you!

I would cancel the Le Cellier, there are plenty of food booths to keep you happy!

Why not both? Haha! That's what my friends would do.
I doubt the outdoor kitchens really compare to Le Cellier, but if you want variety the offerings seem pretty good.

Try a couple things at the outdoor kitchens early, but the lines can be long and if you're feet are tired and it's hot and humid, you will appreciate a nice sit down restaurant later in the day. I'd keep it. It's a hard one to get.

It really depends how you like to eat. I much prefer a sit down meal over standing in line after line trying to piece a meal together. We typically pick one or two things at the booths and then plan on a TS as well. If you would like more flexibility, I would suggest doing some booths and if that doesn't appeal, go to a QS to sit down and eat. You will also likely be able to make an ADR on the fly. Probably not Le Cellier, but something in EP is typically available day-of.

We rarely make TS ressies during F&G and certainly don't during F&W. We are snacking meal type people and enjoy just walking around and grabbing things. When we do a TS it's usually in another park. Personally, I'd cancel but just because I think that restaurant is over rated. I agree with PP, if you feel you still want to have a sit down meal, grab a QS or make an ADR from the MDE ap. on the fly.

We're doing both!

DH is one of those annoying adult picky eaters :sad2:, and there only a few offerings in the outdoor kitchens that he was even vaguely interesting it trying. Our Le Cellier dinner is our "date night" anyway, and we'd decided we'd rather have a nice leisurely meal sitting in one spot.

We have another evening planned in EPCOT, and DH will wrangle DS while my sister and I hit up the outdoor kitchens :woohoo:

We had sit down reservations last year for 2 nights during F&G, but canceled one once we saw the menus, then canceled the other after arriving and eating from some of the menus.

I've found "eating around the world" during flower and garden to sound more exciting than it actually is. It kind of gets annoying after awhile going from booth to booth (especially with kids).

What about doing LeCellier for lunch and then snacking during the evening (so best of both worlds, but really you won't be super hungry after a filling lunch)?

I'm doing a combination of outdoor kitchens and counter service. It's also possible I try a walk up, or look for ADRs on the app if I feel like table service when I'm ready to eat. I just wasn't in the mood to have ADR commitments this trip.

We are doing the combo as well. For our first day at Epcot we are doing early lunch at Chefs de France, then hitting the booths later in the day.
The 2nd day at Epcot we have early lunch at Marrakech for just appetisers. We will hit the rest of the booths later in the day.
I had to make some Epcot TS ressies. My friend that is coming with me this trip it's her 1st visit and she always loves my food pics. LOL
So I want to make sure she has the chance to eat at some Epcot TS, as well as experience the F & G kitchens as well.

We kept an early (pre WS opening) Akershus breakfast but cancelled everything else. Definitely doing the kitchens. Never been to F&G before and want the full experience!

I was considering cancelling or TS to eat at the booths but some of the responses have talked me out of it. I definitely appreciate a sit down meal away from the crowds. I'll try a couple maybe earlier in the day.

If this was F&W with 25+ booths, I'd suggest cancelling the ADR. But as this is F&G, with 13 booths, I'd keep the ADR. We have a lunch ADR at Chefs De France during the F&G.

I like to sit down and eat, and that's very difficult to do at the outdoor kiosks. My first F & W festival I'd planned on eating at kiosks, but the thought of standing in line in the heat, then having to stand while I ate really made me lose my appetite. Luckily, it was easy to get into a sit down restaurant at that time. :)

The F&G kitchens don't have me nearly as excited as F&W always does! I have kept our Epcot TS reservations for lunch at Chefs de France one day and dinner at Le Cellier the other day. We will snack around some for dinner/lunch. We found even during F&W it was nice to have one sit down meal per day, even if we just shared appetizers, to get in off our feet in the air conditioning.

We do a combination of both. For the F&G there are fewer booths than at F&W so we would try the booths for lunch and have a TS dinner. By the time it's evening our feet appreciate being able to sit down in one place and have a relaxing dinner.

We would cancel the sit down meal and just do the booths. Too much food if you try to do both.

Since you said you like to fly by the seat of your pants, I would cancel the ADR and just hit the F&G kiosks. Plenty of food without a schedule. :-)
