im thinking of this one too. DW knows i love to dive and i love disney. hmmmmmmmmmm both at the same time. tell me more please

I did it last January. It was excellent. The first part of the tour was learning a bit about conservation and watching a video. We got to take a tour of some of the behind the scenes areas of the aquarium like quaranteen tanks, research areas etc. We then got changed into wet suits they provided and went up to the top of the aquarium. Here we put on mini scuba tanks (no experience required) fins, flotation vest and a mask. The tanks last about thirty minutes but if you run short they will give you a new one. We were allowed to swim on top of the water about 3/4 of the way around the donut shape. The other 1/4 area where we could not go was where the dolphins stay. You basically can swim along the top and duck your head under water(like a duck) but you can not dive down. You are told that if fish or turtles come up to you, you can observe but not interact with them. I had several types swim right in front of my face but most keep a distance. any thing you see in the windows, you can see from above As you look down you can see and wave to the guest and family watching through the regular viewing windows. It takes abut 5 minutes to get used to the scuba gear but after that it was awesome and they do keep an eye on you if you have problems! The guide was one of the dive quest cm's. They also take a picture of each person in your wetsuit in the water and you get a tee shirt. During my tour there was a father/son pair. the son was probably thirteen or so but if they allow 11 year olds I think as long as he likes water and fish swimming around him he would have a blast. You will think that the thirty minutes in the water went too fast. If you can afford it, Definitely do it! I plan on doing it again next february.

Have fun!

We have done this and loved it! There is also a Dolphins in Depth tour where you get to interact with the dolphins on the platform in knee-deep water, which was great. The only one we haven't done is the Dive Quest, which requires SCUBA certification. As soon as we get that, we'll be doing it. I think the age requirements for DID and DQ are higher than for the Aqua Seas tour.

Hi
Thanks for the information- it sounds great. Best wishes
