I LOVE IT! You all are hysterical.
Finally someone who will get my "Not everyone thinks you're funny, Miss Sarcasm" sense of humor. My boss is a judge and he has no sense of humor at all. God I hate my job. Good thing there's a never-ending supply of criminals. At least it's job security.

I'm in PA between Danville and Williamsport (think Little League World Series).
Beautiful Susquehanna Valley, but really rural. As you can imagine, scrapping isn't a big business around here. The two small stores that tried to make a go of it both closed within a year. Pretty much leaves AC Moore, Michaels and the internet.

Thanks! I found the due date too. I will look at my carts and decide which choices but also just want to be in it. I can come up with an idea for just about anything!

This is not a sign up thread- just what I was thinking. Should we change anything?

This is an Epcot Swap that includes all pavilions in the World Showcase and Future World as well as any extras such as Illuminations.
Sign Up April 6th
Mail Date is June 8th.
Due date is June 15th (that is when I need to receive your package. I will wait one week to return them just in case someone‘s doesn‘t arrive on schedule). If I get them earlier I'll send them out earlier!

1. Choose an open theme (Mexico, Living Seas, Illuminations ~ anything at Epcot).
2. Select two elements. Each element should be embellished 2 different ways.
3. PM me with your DIS name, name and address - only if I have not swapped with you before.
4. Post your status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
6. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
7. HAVE FUN!!

Ok - here are the elements to choose from (if you have another idea for an element, let me know and I will add it).

Element Selection:
Please, no hand lettering on any items, use computer fonts, rub-ons,
stamps, etc.
Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, 3D stickers
(matted stickers are okay too) or embossing.

Ok - here are the elements to choose from (if you have another idea for an
element, let me know and I will add it).

Element Selection:
Photo Mat – 1PP to fit a 4x6 photo, double matted and embellished.

Topper – 1PP double matted and embellished.

Borders – 1 set PP (2 borders) double matted and embellished

Journaling Box: 1PP at least a 3x3 writing area, double matted and
embellished with actual journal area placed on top of the two mats

Tag: 1 PP large tag 4.5-5 inches, 2 pp if smaller, double matted and
embellished, include either ribbon/fiber or eyelet/brad in the hole. May
include both....

File Folder, Journal box or Tag (medium sized) &

Embellished Shapes: 4PP @ 1-1/2x1-1/2 or larger if you wish, double matted and embellished. These can be circles, squares, flowers, etc. be creative. If it is a shape that
would not look right double matted please use your best judgment.....Just
make up for it in another way. Maybe make a few extra or throw in
something extra.

Slide Mounts: 2PP be creative here please

File Folders or Matchbooks: 1 PP if medium size or lager, 2 pp if mini
sized. Please make sure to enclose a blank page in the matchbook if this
is the element you choose to do.

Bottle Caps: 4PP if metal, 6PP if paper

Library Pocket and Tag: 1PP embellished, no smaller than to hold 2x3 a tag
that should have ribbon/fiber or eyelet in the hole

Shaker Box: 1PP be creative please

Paper Piecing: 1PP be creative please

License Plate: 1PP be creative please

Signage/Bookmark: 1PP 2x6, double matted and embellished

Song/Lyric/Poem: 1PP, double matted and embellished

Altered CD cover: 1PP be creative please

Altered letter: matted at least 4 inches

Altered Paper Clips: 3 large size ones

Individual wrapped store bought embellishment package. (Example: Jolees,
shaped clips, etc.)

PP = Per Person
A Final Note: This swap is a huge commitment of time and money for everyone involved as it takes a significant amount of both to create all of the pages and elements. Having said that, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not sign up for more than you can handle. It is not fair to me or the other participants to expend the time and money to make something for someone who does not reciprocate. We all want everyone to enjoy swapping but we also want you to think about what you are getting into when you sign up.

Last but not least, HAVE FUN! I know we all stress about our work and that is OK. The important thing to remember is that you just need to make something you would be proud to have in your own albums and everyone will love it. If you get stumped or have a question, anyone on here would be happy to help; all you have to do is ask.

Hi there, I have a couple of questions for elements. If we do a set of Borders, is that only considered as ONE element? Because those take a lot of time to do, & they are huge (but worth doing) =)
The second question is: Can we do an ATC as an element? Maybe we can make a requirment for those embillied at three times. Thanks a bunch.

I think your post may have gotten lost when the boards were down for maintenance. Are you thinking about the newbie section or Epcot groups?

In the past boarders have been considered 1 item, but if they are labor intensive, I have counted just one an element. We can talk if that is what you decide to do.

Adding to questions --

1. are toppers required for countries?
2. can we do other kinds of title pieces, or sticking to the 8x2 topper format?

I think that some kind of signage/ title/ tag with the country name on it is nice but it does not have to be a topper.

Thanks Susan! You should have seen my excitement when I found this section on the dis boards! I have 2 disney trip albums going right now, so I am loving the swap idea!!

Okay...I feel really stupid but I thought the Epcot groups for this swap were all for newbies? Is there a seperate newbie swap I need to participate in first? I have done 2 page layout swaps with a different discussion board in the past. I'm definately not a newbie scrapper--I've been scrapbooking for 10+ years now. I've taught classes at 2 local scrapbook stores and I'm on the design team at an incredible huge scrapbook store. I've been published in Creating Keepsakes too. I promise I'll do something really great for the swap--I'm just not sure where to jump in here...I want to follow the procedure correctly so please just let me know if I'm not quite getting it. LOL.

When I post the sign ups you post what you would like as long as it is open- you get it.
Yes- you can join two groups as a newbie to our swaps.
Anything Disney goes- it does not have to be just for Epcot it can be something that can be used in any Disney layout.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

You are more than welcome to join the Epcot swap... we just limit our new swappers to 2 groups so that they don't get overwhelmed!!!! No newbie swap is going on so you are more than welcome to jump in and get your feet wet with this swap!!!!

Well - -this one will definitely have countries and the countries will fill I'm sure. Tags and toppers...who knows? If a swapper gets what she wants out of this, she may not join the next one. To me, this one seems like a sure thing.

I love both of them... but I can never get enough country elements because my family loves the World Showcase so we hit it 2 times each trip... we spend one whole day just in WS....so I have pictures from 3 trips coming out my ears that I need elements for to get the pages flowing!!!!!!!!!

I think you will better joining this one than waiting for another one. This one is a sure thing for countries. If the groups don't fill up in another swap, it may get dropped.
