Epcot Member Lounge questions

I really think there should be a way for members to add people to the membership.
My dd17 will be with us on next trip my wife and I do not plan on going to the park.
She wants to go to Epcot .
I think it is crazy that my kids can not enjoy this simple perk with out me being there.

It is a real estate interest. To add them gives them rights to the real estate interest, and, in the case of minor children, may count as an asset for certain things like FAFSA.

For all DVC is all "member member member!" it is a timeshare.

I understand tchat. I am simply saying that it would be nice if we could have a system to allow our children to use perks without the need to be with them.

The problem is that such a system would be wildly abused by many. Requiring full members to be on the deed prevents that.

Ugh, Why is it only staying open for the rest of this year?
We just got back from a vacation and really liked the lounge (even though I did make a joke that I had the most expensive "free" coke in my lifetime, haha). I even mentioned to my wife that I think there should be a member lounge at each park for us!
FYI the new Disney Files states the Lounge will stay open throughout 2017. pixiedust: Thought I'd let y'all know in case you hadn't read it yet.

They may keep it open longer, but they only commit for a year at a time. Who knows? They may put a new attraction in the building with the Lounge, and they need the flexibility to repurpose the building. (Or tear it down.)

I hope they keep it open longer. This is the second trip for me using it. Both times I've met DVC members and have had some nice chats in the lounge.

I choose the gummi bears!

Love the keurig option - I've grabbed a pastry or snack and brought it in to have with coffee - so much nicer to relax.

I'm surprised it's still open this year. Is was announced specifically for 2016 only, even though it didn't open until June(?). Personally, I've been to Epcot 8 times since it opened (on three or four separate trips), and haven't bothered to visit the lounge once. We put our name on the waiting list once when it was at capacity but ended up walking back to our resort instead. I haven't found any value in the lounge yet.

We used the lounge just last week on our trip and we loved it! We managed to see the snack cart twice while we were there (she missed some of us the first time and came back a second time), there weren't many people there so we could cool down, recharge and take a little break from the parks, there is lots of seating, our whole party of 5 got to go in by my dad showing his DVC card and photo ID, and it was great to get a drink that was cold! The only thing that would have improved the lounge for us is if there were bathrooms right inside. I would love it if they put these in each of the parks for members to take advantage of.

Are you allowed to bring outside food into the lounge? We have a late ADR and are planning on having a light meal late afternoon. Would we be able to bring a combination of park food, and outside food here?

I don't think they'd stop you but I personally wouldn't. It's not set up for real dining and I'd find it uncomfortable to be eating an entire meal there. Lots of other places around the park to do that.

Thanks, I was hoping it would work because the day I will be in EP is New Years Eve, and I know the crowd level will be insane. Looking for some quiet down time options.

As Kat stated, it's not set up for real dining. They give you snacks there such as chips and granola bars and I was talking about light eating such as that.

I also think that NYE would be an especially busy time if the lounge is open then.

We used it for the first time this past Sunday. What a nice DVC perk! It was a nice place to relax for 15 minutes or so, have a snack and drink, and charge my phone while we enjoyed the snacks!

On NYE, I would expect there to be a wait to use the Lounge just like there's a wait elsewhere. There is a capacity limit.

I figured as much, so my thought was to go and wait to get in, while my family rides MS. Hopefully the wait wouldn't be more than an hour?!?

I don't know if there is a time limit, and I'd expect some DVC members to settle in for a while.

It closes at 6, I don't think it adds much to a NYE celebration!

We got on a wait list once at 5, got the message to go up at 5:45. That was the only time we did not get a snack.

Hi I'm from the uk,what drinks r available at the dvc member lounge in Epcot? Is it just soda? I read something about a Keurig machine but don't know what that is?
