it needs more attractions . The most likely place is obviously in Future World . Of the following options which do you like best as possible additions to EPCOT ?
a - Wonders of Life Pavilion reopened with a combination of new and
upgraded attractions
b- Imagination Pavilion re-energized with a new 3D film plus return to
retro Figment attraction including a Figment and Dreamfinder M&G
and an additional attraction for the dormant upstairs area ...something
almost anything here would be an appreciated...lol
c- a new country for World Showcase (perhaps Greece , Russia , or
India)
d- none of the above...EPCOT is just fine as is

All of the above!

The Life Pavilion is just wasted prime real estate. They can wreck it and build something completely new, or just add something new to the existing building (doesn't have to be life themed necessarily).

I love Captain EO, but when it's time, it's time. I'd like a complete overhaul of the theater. Imagination I don't really mind the way it is, but they do need to fix up or expand Imageworks.

A new country is a given considering the room they have there.

I also want the Odyssey to re-open as something, be it restaurant or attraction or even gift shop. It's just weird having that big empty building right there.

Energy needs an update big-time.

All these things would be a great boon to Epcot.

1. Ratatouille ride added to France.

2. Upgrade Soarin' in 3 steps:
a. Add a 3rd theater. A relatively quick and easy fix for the capacity problems.
b. Soarin' over the World film replacing Soarin' over California (which makes little sense being at Epcot in Florida)
c. Build a direct entrance/exit for Soarin along the side of the Imagination pavilion. The Land pavilion is way too crowded with all of the traffic Soarin' generates.

3. I'll leave this one as an option for Disney:
Switzerland built between Germany and Italy complete with the planned Matterhorn ride
OR
Mt Fuji ride finally being built in Japan

4. Gut Ellen's Energy Adventure. This leaves a giant indoor blank canvas for a massive new dark ride. Maybe a version of Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek from Tokyo Disneyland (hey.. it is somewhat energy themed!)

5. Dust off the original plans for Journey into Imagination and rebuild the ride as it was.

more people out there who think EPCOT needs more attractions . Lets hear what you think WDI can and/or should do . I know there has been a lot of talk and speculation about a FROZEN makeover for Norway which would probably be great but that would almost certainly be a one for one trade off . What I'm looking for is additions . So...what do you guys want to see come to EPCOT ?

I definitely feel like Epcot needs something more.
Personally I would LOVE a Greece pavillion (and a Herc & Meg greet..just sayin)

I also think there's tons of prime real estate over in Future World that could be used or amped up. Usually we hit Soarin & head into WS....

I adore Soarin' so much that Epcot is my favorite park but I agree it needs updating. Wonders of Life would be good. there is so much they could do about the human body. I used to like that old Martin Short movie they showed. I think Imagination should be scrapped or at least somehow be imaginative. So many things haven't changed since I was a kid and I'm 44! The countries could use updating and I'm disappointed that they use them for character meet and greets.

I think it would be great to update/use the Wonders of Life Pavilion..........:yay: Adding a country to WS would be cool too.........although given the climate in the world I doubt Russia would fly. India or Greece would be great.........I go with Greece IMHO. My only question is were would you "add" the new country. Im not picturing it in my mind.....:confused3

Switzerland would be a nice addition to WS. Russia would be unlikely with the unrest and our leaders not "playing nice".

For rides, I would first put Figment back to it's original (or as close as possible) ride.

I don't think the Wonders of Life are coming back. How about a new attraction that would put FW back into the future. How about a high tech coaster that takes you around the surface or Mars or Jupiter where the pavilion was?

A new movie for Soarin' would be nice as well.

Add a motion simulator ride (like Star Tours) that shows what the future is expected to be in 100 years. Space station maybe, visit colonies on other planets.

Updates to the Innovations to include new inventions/advances in medicine, manufacturing, aviation. Some activities that would highlight where we are headed.

Of course all of these things would need sponsors based on the Epcot model and who knows if there are any companies out there that match to the ideas.

UFCKnight...LOVE your ideas! If they did #1-4, this would be the ultimate "Potter-swatter" and would boost Epcot's attendance by millions making it a close second to the MK like it once was 20 years ago.

Love all your ideas but one enhancement: keep soarin' over california in theater #3 for those who still never saw it and for those nostalgia buffs who have had great memories there with their families to see again. i would never completely get rid of the original soarin'.

As for adding another country, how about Brazil, something southern hemisphere for a change? There could be some kind of Amazonian rain forest type ride. As for Soarin, I thought plans were in the works for a new film with flyovers of the WDW and DL, or has that been filed into the erroneous rumor bin? pixiedust:

Epcot is in need of some attractions and other additions. Since Disney likes to do things with a keen eye on the bottom line, I suggest re-opening and revamping the Wonders of Life Pavilion. It would also be an excellent idea to add another country to World Showcase. I don't even care what country... just add something. As for Captain EO, it is just an embarrassment. I think it is odd that Disney still shows it.

As it is now, with so few attractions, Epcot has the feel of a fancy galleria. One that it costs $100 to enter.

Wall-E and Eve's Space Flight feels like such a natural fit for Epcot.

I like that idea. It goes with the whole "learn how to protect our planet" vibe too. Personally EPCOT is my least favorite park. :duck I can't put my finger on it, but it needs SOMETHING.

Future World needs some TLC. They def. need to put something in the Wonders Of Life Pavilion, and I can't for the life of me understand what was wrong with the original JII.

FW was so cool when Epcot opened, but some of the features that were so "hi tech" (remember the video kiosks for making ADRs?) became outdated very quickly in the fast moving digital age. :earsboy:

EPCOT is definitely in need of some major work.

The retro Journey Into Imagination ride would be fantastic. A lot of people still look for the Dreamfinder and the current ride is awful. There's so much negative space in there! IMO, you should not be able to look around and see blank black walls!

Re-opening Wonders of Life is a great idea as well. I thought it would be fun if they re-imagined Body Wars with a Phineas & Ferb spin - there's an episode of the series where they go all Innerspace on their older sister, it would play off well.

A new country would also be great, but it needs to be something non-European; perhaps something from South America or another African country.

For the most part, I think WDW needs to get involved in the world of fandom. With Universal nailing down the Potterheads and courting Tolkien fans, WDW has only Star Wars to offer, and with it centered at Studios with, let's be real, a hesitant future (who knows how the new films will be received?), they need to snag a major property (that is NOT Avatar).

I think a good addition would be to license a version of the Doctor Who Experience. People already eat up the DW merch they sell at the UK pavillion - by extension, you could expect decent traffic into an attraction, even a walkthrough.

With the recent World Cup buzz, 2016 Olympics, and even the hype over their F+W booth, I could see this working out quite well...

YES. YES. YES.

Although I'm not sure if it could be pulled off, I'd go nuts over this. :thumbsup2
