Epcot fun for small children?

Honestly, I think 2 and 4 is too young for Epcot. At ages 7 and 5, or 6 and 4, I'd say you'd be good, but right now at their ages, there's not much for them to enjoy. Focus your attention on the three other parks and maybe make a quick diversion to Epcot to check out Journey to Imagination and the Living Seas.

My 4 yo doesn't really like Epcot all that much. She likes some of the shows and rides, but overall it is too slowly paced for her...

When my niece was 7, I only took her to Future World. She enjoyed it. :) Not sure about a 2 & 4 yo though. :confused3

We're going next month and she'll be a few weeks shy of 9. I think we'll try World Showcase this time as well. ::yes::

My youngest DD was 4 when we went two years ago. She loved Epcot. The Living Seas was great fun - such neat aquariums. She also enjoyed doing the mask/passport at all of the kid stops in all of the countries in World Showcase. The drummers in Japan were fun for her as well as Off Kilter in Canada. She also enjoyed the Fife and Drum Corps in US. We were also able to get some character autographs. So, although Epcot doesn't have the same appeal as the other parks, there is still a lot that you can find there for all kids.

Out of all the parks, EPCOT is our favorite. We've been going there with our kids since they were 18mths; they are now 5 and 6 and they still enjoy the park.

We use it as our "escape" park. Go to MK in the am, by noon it's mobbed, "escape" to EPCOT for the rest of the day. They love the Energy ride (sorry i don't remember they specific names), the rides at Mexico and Norway. They loved making the masks at each country and while they sat down to make those, mom and dad would relax at each country and enjoy the shops or a snack.

Honey I shrunk the kids movie was fun and we also went on Imagination. They always spent a lot of time at the fountains esp the big fountain that had the little show.

Ice station cool was the greatest experience because of all the soda they got to try.

They had a really good time at Mission to Mars. While dad went on the ride, they crawled around the little play structure and played this neat computer game.

There are still so many other little things to enjoy and you may be surprised that it's not just for the grown ups.

I would recommend trying it out to see for yourself.

If the Kidcot stops are still available, then these will keep your kids busy going around the different lands.

Our DDs will be aged 4 and 1.5 yrs when we go to WDW. We're planning some time at Epcot. Definitely will be there one afternoon/evening, for dinner at Le Cellier and Illuminations, then will come back again, either a morning or evening for some rides. DH & I love Epcot, and the thought of not taking the girls there never crossed our minds. Spaceship Earth, Living Seas, Imagination, and 4yo will be tall enough for Test Track even! And we definitley want to walk around the countries. If you have a park hopper I would say definitely take some time and go there.

My dd is only 2 1/2 and she loves Epcot! Spaceship Earth is one of her favorite rides in all of WDW. She also enjoys the play area at Imaginations, El Rio del Tiempo in Mexico, she can spend hours in The Living Seas, loves watching the fountains near Imagination, enjoys Living with the Land in The Land pavilion, and lots more! We are finally trying the Kidcot stops in World Showcase when we go in 2 weeks as she loves to color....we just didn't have the time on our previous visits for her to do this.

Epcot is a must for us!

My DD2 went to WDW for the first time in January. Her very first park was EPCOT. She loved it. The people, the color, the fountains, the sounds, the characters, the food. You name it - she loved it. She was thrilled to see the trolls on Maelstrom and still talks about them. She had a blast playing on the Viking ship, although it isn't like the Viking ships she is used to (we are re-enactors and our Viking group has a 38 ft. long ship being built for us, we had a 32 footer that my DD played in and a 20 foot faering that she is very attached to) but was cool nonetheless. China she loved for the food and the people. Japan had the kodo drummers and she loved the sounds. Morocco with its winding lanes and fountain was a delight for a 2 year old. Ice Station Cool with the different sodas was an experience. And don't get me started on how she loved Living Seas. Every child is different and you know yours best, but I honestly think that even a 2 year old can appreciate some of the things in EPCOT.

I would highly suggest taking your kids. We went in Feb with our 4 yo DD and 18 mo DD and they LOVED EPCOT!!!! Although it's not as exciting for them as MK, AK or MGM we used that to our advantage. We went to two other parks first (MK and AK) and used EPCOT as a slower paced day before going to the more "exciting" parks again. This is what we did and what I would suggest...

Sleeping in until around 8 or 8:30 (by sleeping in I mean not getting there at rope drop and killing yourself to make it to an attraction at opening). We scheduled the Princess Storybook breakfast at Akershus for 10:20 and didn't do anything before that and that gave them some REAL excitement first thing and I think they went on that all day. Anyhow, after the restaurant we went back to Mexico (you will pass it on your way to Akershus) rode the boat ride there and then back to Norway for the Maelstrom boat ride there. This gave them some rides first off that are still fun for them. Then by the time we were ready to make our way around the rest of the World Showcase they were getting tired and we more than happy to mainly chill in their strollers and by Germany they both were asleep which gave all of us plenty of time in all of the stores and attractions for the rest of the WS. The only problem was going into the American Pavilion but my DH was willing to skip it and sit outside with a funnel cake :Pinkbounc while they slept. By the time we got to England they were back awake and we saw Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore in the meet and greet spot there and they were ready to tackle Journey into Imagination and all the other more kid friendly activities (which by the way are usually less busy in the late afternoon and evening because a lot of people tend to do them first thing) so we were able to take our time through the Living Seas (they loved this). We grabbed our evening meal at one of the Counter Service places a little later than a normal supper (breakfast held us over along with a few snacks through WS) so crowds were low there and then we were ready for Illuminations.

Sorry this is so long, but this really ended up being one of our best days and I would hate for you to miss it. It could be boring for them, but there is always a way to work these things out!!! Have fun either way!!!!

We did a short day at Epcot last Friday with DDs 3 and 6. Got there about 11:00 and left at 5:30. They did not like Spaceship Earth- DD3 does not like any dark rides. Living Seas was so-so. DD6 enjoyed the KidCot there and DD3 wanted to see the fish some more but they did not want to see Crush. In hindsight, I would have tried to skip the movie they show before you go in the aquarium. Soarin was awesome, but you've got to be 40' and DD3 was right there! We passed by some play areas but didn't stop, we wanted to cruise around the countries to get to Princess lunch by 2:30. They enjoyed street performers in France, met Aladdin in Morocco, then went to lunch. After lunch visited China for umbrellas and met Mulan and Mushu. They also enjoyed the Character Bus and Minnie's Butterfly Garden.

All in all, it was a nice change of pace and I'm sure we could have found more if we'd tried.

We just got back from April 24-30 trip. Epcot was my 2 and 4 year olds' 2nd favorite park after Magic Kingdom. They loved Livin' With the Land, Imagination ride and play area, The Living Seas and Spaceship Earth. My 4-yr-old DD also loved Soarin' and Test Track. We did all of the World Showcase Kidcot stops. DD4 loved them and DS2 slept in his stroller most of the time. They also liked the fountains, characters and the cave with free Coke. We had a blast at Epcot! :cool1:
