Epcot Fountain Becomes a Hot Tub

Or when the cheerleaders decide to have an entire cheer routine in the middle of the Soarin line........I had the pleasure of listening to that in mid February.

Yes, that would be wholly unnecessart. Outdoors and out of the way - that doesn't bother me. They do have to follow the rules though.

Eh I don't really want to hear cheer routines while walking around the park but that's less obnoxious than in the middle of the a crowded indoor queue. CMs did absolutely nothing about it which was frustrating.

I was at WDW this weekend and only saw the cheer groups at Disney Springs. I saw one massive group trying to do a walk up to Planet Hollywood.

Well, they're not supposed to do them in the parks at all, so that's what I meant by following the rules. There aren't many places out of the way in the parks anyway. On the grass at a resort though or whatever, it just doesn't bother me like it does some people.

The adults are nutty.

Still, not a good look, I don't agree with punishing kids for the bad behavior of adults.

How are you going to hold minors responsible for the bad behavior of adults when the adults, who are guardians BTW, have all the power? This is especially true in a situation like this where a kid telling the adult they are wrong could bench the child. The kids have no power here, leave them out of it.

Gotcha. Sorry for misunderstanding your post.

If I was a guest at a value resort and trying to sleep, it would bother me but to each their own.

Well, again, in the middle of the night - that would be disturbing. Personally, I've never seen any of that, so I don't think it's really anything widespread. I did once see a cheer group setting up a pyramid in MK for a photo - no cheering jsut the pose. A CM did tell them not to, and that was the end of it. It's nothing that's going to ruin my day.

🤯 Why would you think this was acceptable?

The sad part is the cheer team. Disqualified because of their parents poor behavior. All the hard work and dedication their children put in was gone because the parents are idiots. :sad2:

Disney had to put the hammer down, I just feel gutted for the team.
So trashy...and what a story to tell the family. Yeah, we went all the way to Disney, but then got disqualified because mom/dad chose to act like entitled selfish idiots.

Feel bad for the kids, but definitely glad WDW took action.

I saw a picture taken earlier last week of some groups practicing on the green at All Star Sports at night. Personally I would not stay at any of the All Stars when competitions are happening.

I had the pleasure. 2 am ... feet from my room. AllStar Music. Was a few years ago but completely unacceptable. I should have complained more - these days I would have.

Not supposed to be and when I stayed at Sports in Feb with them there were signs EVERYWHERE.

The interesting bit here is that water is likely not potable water. And birds have likely crapped in it. Who knows what problems they’ll have when they get back home.
I'd think it would be the reverse and the fountains are just saturated in nasty chemicals that you couldn't do in a pool, you know, like the ride water. I'm sure they can handle bird poop.

Why would they put chemicals in fountains? It should be sewage water. That’s what most fountains use since it’s cheaper.

All the alcohol they drank will any and all bacteria in their systems.

Honestly with the price of those drinks who can afford (or wants to) to spend that much at Epcot to get so smashed you lay in the fountain.

There are likely clear rule that state violation of decorum by the competitors, coaches, parents etc. will result in disqualification. My daughter's dance is like that. So that would be why if that's how it went down. And yes, a ban of the immediate ones involved.
Yes, my daugher’s HS marching band performed at some type of event at WDW. A few members and/or the chaperones of another band misbehaved and the whole group was banned from performing.

In DD’s case, I believe the organizer of the event made the decision, not Disney.

Oh yes,Picture Posing used to be very routine at WDW,but I haven't seen any in a long time-I think the Cheer powers that be must have really cracked down on the practice.

Cheerleading Competitions and their relationship with WDW is really just so massive-Disney even built an 8,500 seat Arena JUST FOR CHEER AND DANCE COMPETITIONS at ESPN WWOS!

Here is a decade old Photo when Posing was common and I have to admit, while dangerous(we were holding our breath),having the RnRC Guitar as a backdrop made an awesome WDW picture!lol

And definitely not on the same misbehavior level as Fountain Trespassing!lol
