Epcot Food and WINO festival

This wasn't my first F&WF either and I noticed it each night we were there. I think I noticed it so much because I had DD and 2 nieces with me and between being aware of their surroundings constantly and making sure we were all still together, I saw a lot of drunks stammering around. The girls didn't notice much. Mom and I did, however.

hhmm - I am thinking that is why all the pixie dust is over at MK -
I agree with the poster who said you can bump into drunks anywhere - and to use it as a learning experience for your DD - at 10 I hate to say she is ready to learn about the BAD side of drinking to much - hoping that she will never only see the 'good side' presented to her by her peers soon enough.

OH and personally not being a big wine drinker (yet - I finally found one i like - lol) I know that 2 glasses hit me like you wouldn't imagine - and I am sure i am not the only one!

I just wanted to clarify things. Our trip was not ruined in any way. We love Epcot and loved it this trip as well. And the park wasn't filled with drunks stumbling around the place. But we did come across a few couples and particularly large groups (10-15 people) being overly loud and boisterous, stumbling, disregarding CM instructions, etc. It just took away from the family-friendly, classy atmosphere we are used to at Epcot.

I'm not suggesting that Disney stop the F&W festival. And yes, we did certainly use it as a teaching point for DD. It just isn't what we expect when we go to Disney. Just a little too much of the outside world creeping in.

I'm going to go with Aidensmom on this one. If I did happen to plan a vacation to WDW during this time, and had kids with me, we'd make sure the kids hit the park in the AM/early PM, leaving by lunch. Just makes sense to me.

Glad you had a good time in spite of the real world creeping in.

I'm going to go with Aidensmom on this one. It's called the Food & Wine festival for a reason. Not to mention it's been pretty hot out so I'm sure people are knocking them back faster than they realize because they are thirsty.

If it didn't ruin your experience, then I'm not sure what the complaint is. If it's because your child witnessed it, then I would recommend avoiding the food and wine festival. Especially on a weekend.

Not really a complaint - just an observation and I was wondering if others had noticed the same problem. Sounds like some have, some haven't.
