EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

This is likely a dumb question, so please bear with me! I've never been to F&W, but happen to be there this year with my 2 kids. When do the food stands open for the day? My kids are not adventurous eaters, so I'm trying to figure out if I can feed them QS somewhere and then feed myself with a few food stands, but since we will be there on a Sat I imagine crowds will get huge as the day progresses. Will the stands be open as soon as World Showcase opens? Thanks so much!

Yes, the food and wine booths open when World Showcase opens. This year there will be a couple of booths in the future world section of Epcot and I'm not sure what will happen with them. Will they wait until 11 to open? Will they open earlier? Who knows?

But yes, Saturday is the most crowded day for the F&W Fest. Personally, I've never gone near Epcot on a Saturday during F&W because of the photos of the mobs I've seen. They are scary.

Hi,

So sorry if this has been discussed before i just can't find the answer.

Am i understanding correctly that we can use our magic bands to purchase food at the F& W kiosks? We have our cc attached.
Will i also be able to pay down the charge on our cc at our resort say mid week with Disney gift cards we have?

I do exactly what you're thinking of. I use my magic band to purchase then pay down my balance every couple of days using gift cards.

As someone else said, make sure you have at least one alternate form of payment available. Last year the entire "charging to the magic band" system was down one evening everywhere. However, even when the system was working, there were issues at some booths with the magic band readers. Evidently they don't work well if they're in direct sun and get overheated. So the best thing is to be prepared just in case. I like to pack a spare credit card and a couple of $20s when I go to the parks. Or you could bring gift cards.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Future World F&W booths were open before 11am. Last year, the Craft Beers booth opened before 11am in the Odyssey building when we were there.

If you're entering Epcot from the main entry, stop in "The Land" to Sunshine Seasons. They have a high variety of foods the kids will like, for sure. You, too. Then it's on to Food & Wine. There will be some things the kids will like. If they are old enough to read the F&W brochure, all the food items are listed. Or you could pre-scan the brochure, thinking of the kids' preferences, and point them out to the kids.

Yes - Sunshine Seasons is a group fave for sure!

I am dreading the Sat crowds but we are not staying for Illuminations so I am hoping we can rope-drop, get in, do our stuff, and get out without too much drama.

Thanks for the words of wisdom, all!

Anyone think it's possible to hit AK at RD, do Everest & Safari and still get to Epcot by 1130 or so?

Are you going to AK on EMH in the morning? If so I say yes if not probably still doable but if you are not driving remember you are at the mercy of the busses. :worship:

We got tickets for the taping on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9:00 am. I also requested the Friday, 9:00, taping and that one still shows "Waitlist" on the status.

I requested tickets for Friday. I am just wondering if anyone has received them yet. Does it show where the show is going to be filmed?

Just received my appetizer trays with glass holder to help carry my food at F&W! They are too cute and fit in our backpacks. Can't wait to use them in 40 days...pixiedust:

That would make me very happy! And thanks for the heads up about the Craft Beers booth in the Odyssey opening earlier. I'm an early riser anyway, and when I'm on vacation it's never too early to have a beer!

Where did you order these from? Do you have a link? I have seen them and would love to get mine before we get there.

Absolutely. Best bet when leaving AK is to take a bus to an EPCOT resort (Boardwalk, Beach Club or Yacht Club), then walk or take the boat to the International Gateway into World Showcase so you don't have to walk through Future World.

I found mine on eBay and here are some that are similar to the type I bought:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Opaque-Squa...older-Set-5-/171824469784?hash=item2801895718

You can also search on Amazon too, they have some neat ones available one there are well. I just searched for buffet/appetizer plate with glass holder.

Hope you find one you like. i certainly think it will make it easier to carry the food and drink since the container are pretty flimsy and such.

We discovered this quite by accident. My wife developed a blister on her foot, and the first aid station is on the backside of the Odyssey building. So as we were passing the Odyssey, a CM was notifying passing guests that they were open. So after getting the foot bandaged up, we returned for the beer.
