***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

I love the idea of a cheesemonger (and I love just saying cheesemonger - :lmao: ) so I hope they serve good cheese selections. The Irish cheese plate left a bit to be desired last year.

Brenda .. I love yea but I think only PFTS has a cheese selection worthy of you! :thumbsup2

Are you trying to convince me that I've made a bad decision by planning on skipping PFTS this year? ;) :lmao:

I don't know about you, but I'm back to wanting to book PFTS. :headache: Hey, did you happen to hear if there were any Jiko wine dinners at the end of December when you called today?

Just because Jason and I are too excited about the Festival and we have to look at old pictures and info cause we are a month out... ( yes, we are sad and hopeless! :headache: ) Here is a list of the items that are different to the booths this year from last...Enjoy!

Why yes! YES I am.. I'd hate to take on the entire cheese selection alone! :lmao:

Hi Michelle! I was told that the "regularly scheduled" dinners for November and December were still available. That was probably about 1:30 PM CST today.

You and I together could probably polish it off! :lmao:

The "regular" scheduling of the Jiko wine dinners is the first Thursday of each month.

I have to call tomorrow to see if I have a spot in the Nov one.

You might want to check with Disney Dining - every month at Jiko there is a special food and wine dinner - the first Thursday of each month. I don't remember exactly what it's called and sometimes the CMs have a hard time finding it, during the F&W they consider it part of the events. We've been and have really enjoyed it. We're sort of hoping they'd make an exception this year and make it the 2nd Thursay of the month (when we'll be there), but I doubt it. It's worth checking out.
Reserve dinner
Signature dinner - just can't remember

Thanks for this! Ill have a look

They don't really consider it part of the events. The Jiko wine dinner on November 6 has already been offered for booking - and is sold out.

There is one on September 18 - it's a special addition as they don't normally do them that late in the month. This is in addition to the one on September 4.

Oh well never mind. It would have been the November one we would have wanted to do

This is a fantastic thread! Thanks for starting it & to everyone for all the great info.! We are doing our first F&W this year & are soooo excited! This thread is going to be a big help in planning.

I've skimmed through the last 48 pages & not seen this (but could have missed it) so sorry if it has already been answered.

Does anyone know, the nights that Epcot has EMH, will the food vendors stay open later too? Or do they close at the regular time?

And thanks for the info. on the events, I've convinced DH we need to try the PFTS one night too! :dance3:

I cabt remember but Im curious as to this too!

I called too when I saw what TDC Nala had posted about a dinner on the 16th. Totally sold out. I was even going to be all presumptuous and make a reservation for 3 adults if I was able to get something 'cause I sorta thought you might want to go too. ;)

No dice, but the dinners in November and December still have availability according to the CM I spoke with.

Figures.

It would have been ironic had you been able to snag the last 3 reservations.
I would have been ecstatic. Oh well, day late, dollar short and all that.

I have a friend on the waitlist for November 6 so she better have gotten in if there's availability.

Yes she better have gotten in or they'd have some 'splainin' to do.

The answer is: Yes. The EMH nights at Epcot...the kiosks will still be open.

All Ears has the dates posted for PFTS as every Saturday of the Festival starting with October 4th. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong, but I suspect this time the information is correct due to the cooking competition that's being held at the World Showcase Pavillion on September 27th.

I'm still crossing my fingers that even though they're having the cooking competition they'll still have PFTS. I've been wanting to do the F&WF and PFTS for such a long time.

Help! Is this not the weekend when the info was to be released about the schedule and then we could book events on Monday morning? That was the info I got from a friend of mine but I'm not seeing it. Found this thread with a google search so I thought I'd ask. I've never been to F&W Festival before so I am looking forward to it!

Parts of the schedule are out. The first booking date was moved from August 11 to August 25.

Just checkin' in to see if anything new has happened or changes for when we can book. All clear on the homefront?

:headache: That figures. August 25th I'll be on a cruise ship in Glacier Bay, Alaska. No phone access unless I want to pay a small fortune for it.

Same here. We'll be in Athens, Greece. I hope the rest of the schedule comes out before we leave in 2 weeks so I can have my MIL call and make our ressies for us....
