***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

There is a Jiko Wine Dinner on October 2nd and 16th. November 6th and December 4th.

Snap. I wish I knew about the one on October 16th before now. It's probably fully booked.

Question for you guys since this is our first time. We'd really like to do party for the senses which starts at 6:30 (I believe). I'd also like to do the Tastes of Italy which is on Saturday also from 2:30 - 4. Is it adviseable to do both or will we be too full to enjoy Party for the Senses.

Also, does anyone have any info on the Mediterranean food and wine pairing. That sounds interesting too.

Appreciate any help. We'll be there from 10/1 - 10/9 and doing V&A the first night so I know we won't be sick of food.

Thanks for all you help. This thread is incredibly helpful.

Hello Kathy!
My Husband and I love Party for the Senses BUT it should be the only event you do that day! We actually keep all eating and drink light before hand because you are so over-whelmed by the amount of good food and wine. We have made the mistake of doing booths before and I didn't make it to half of the stuff I wanted!

No way would I do another food event immediately prior to Party for the Senses. About all I'd do is snack from the booths around noon - and save the big eating for the party.

I made sure I was hungry for Party for the Senses, because I left very FULL.
I had a chicken pot pie at Picabu at the Dolphin somewhere around noon that day, and a Dole Whip around 3pm. That was it for the day until the party.

And I check in at 6pm because they will start allowing guests to go into their foyer area before the party. People tend to do the mad dash to secure a table with seats. :) (Many tables are standee tables.)

If you want to go, you should call and see if there is any availability. I hear there is availability for some of the dinners, just not the one on 11/6.

I also bet you could fix it so you can sit with some people you know but I think you should take that up with them to see if they'll be there and then notify Jiko to link the seating.

So has it been determined if there will be a Party For The Senses the first weekend of the Festival yet?

I really hope there is since that's the only chance we'll have to do it. Crossing my fingers.

All Ears has the dates posted for PFTS as every Saturday of the Festival starting with October 4th. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong, but I suspect this time the information is correct due to the cooking competition that's being held at the World Showcase Pavillion on September 27th.

Forgot that I know people who would more than likely be going to this. It probably doesn't matter, because when I called to check, the event was sold out as I thought it might be.

I called too when I saw what TDC Nala had posted about a dinner on the 16th. Totally sold out. I was even going to be all presumptuous and make a reservation for 3 adults if I was able to get something 'cause I sorta thought you might want to go too. ;)

No dice, but the dinners in November and December still have availability according to the CM I spoke with.

Figures.

I have a friend on the waitlist for November 6 so she better have gotten in if there's availability.

This is a fantastic thread! Thanks for starting it & to everyone for all the great info.! We are doing our first F&W this year & are soooo excited! This thread is going to be a big help in planning.

I've skimmed through the last 48 pages & not seen this (but could have missed it) so sorry if it has already been answered.

Does anyone know, the nights that Epcot has EMH, will the food vendors stay open later too? Or do they close at the regular time?

And thanks for the info. on the events, I've convinced DH we need to try the PFTS one night too! :dance3:

Call back and ask - the lady I spoke with said October 2 and the first Thursdays in November and December were still showing availability. She did not, however, mention a wait list. :confused3

I feel like I need a second brain just to deal with Disney Dining. ;)

Just because Jason and I are too excited about the Festival and we have to look at old pictures and info cause we are a month out... ( yes, we are sad and hopeless! :headache: ) Here is a list of the items that are different to the booths this year from last...Enjoy!

San Francisco, USA – Seared Beef Medallion with Cheese Polenta,
Louisiana, USA – Crawfish Etoufée, Seafood Gumbo and Praline Bread Pudding
Buenos Aires, Argentina – Beef & Corn Casserole
Santiago, Chile –Dulce de Leche
Lyon, France –Quiche Provençal, Crème Brulée au Chocolat
Bologna, Italy – Baked Ziti, Mascarpone Cream Puff with Gianduja Chocolate
Barcelona, Spain – Cold Tomato and Garlic Soup, Seared Tuna Loin with Roasted Red Peppers
Vienna, Austria – Tafelspitz, Beef Goulash
Krakow , Poland – Creamy Wild Mushroom Soup
San Juan, Puerto Rico –Brazo Gitano
Marrakesh, Morocco – Spicy Chicken Roll
New Delhi, India –Mango Mousse
Wellington, New Zealand Kiwi Meringue Tart
Melbourne, Australia – Barramundi Fish
The European Cheesemonger – Selection of Dutch, Spanish and Italian Cheese

I love the idea of a cheesemonger (and I love just saying cheesemonger - :lmao: ) so I hope they serve good cheese selections. The Irish cheese plate left a bit to be desired last year.
