***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

This will be our first time going during the F&WF and have been planning for a year and half. Do they have F&WF souvenirs and are they all over the place or is there one central place?

Hi -

DH and I went two years ago, and there seemed to be a few places around World Showcase, as well as items available in the F & W Headquarters in Future World. You pretty much can't miss the stuff!!

Have fun -- see you there!

Cathy:thumbsup2

I am looking for a some type of art or poster with the F&WF 2008 artwork that we can get framed. I'm getting fatter just thing about all the food.

I think they have some posters and art work that you can get -- also dish towels, aprons, shirts, etc.

Have fun!

I really liked the posters they were selling last year, but we didn't buy any because we didn't want the hassle of getting it home. They were rolled up in long protective tubes, so it's not like they would have been damaged but it would have been a pain carrying it around along with all the other carryon stuff.

What can I say ... we're lazy. ;)

I thought they really expanded their selection of F&W items last year - I'm sure it helped that they moved the welcome center over to a new location that gave them a lot more room to showcase stuff.

Thanks for all the photos DisBug. This Polish girl is very disappointed that Disney looks to be serving Mrs. T's Pierogie's. I know the real thing are hard work 'cause I make them every Easter, but come on. If the thought is to try the cuisine of the world, shouldn't every "land" want to put their best food forward?

Although they do look a lot like Mrs. T's, it seems the pierogies are far from store bought. Here's the recipe I found on one of my favorite threads...

Don't forget that lovely F&W Festival Cookbook! That's a must for us each year! :thumbsup2

Here were my desserts from Sweet Sundays last year.

First was "coffee and donuts", but the deal was that there was coffee inside of them.

This is where I had the "stunt dessert" which looked nothing like what the presenters were doing. They were making a Sicilian Cassata, a cannoli type of cake. The Disney chefs made individual desserts of it:

The last was Mexican Chocolate Cake. I think it looked better than I was expecting it to taste. I thought it was not very chocolatey, mostly tasted like a spice cake. It was good, but it wasn't like the brownies Rick Bayless made a few years ago at a Lunch and Learn using Mexican chocolate.

Overall, I liked the event, and the desserts were mostly good overall. This year I won't be doing the event because I wish to do other things I skipped last year, like the food and wine pairings I like very much.

I am thrilled to pieces to hear that. I'll give them one chance. :-)

Pictures are deceiving, Lauren. This Polish boy was lucky enough to attend last year's F&W Festival and was able to sample the pierogis at the Polish food booth. Both DW and I found them to be very tasty indeed. IMHO, they did not at all taste "store bought" or mass produced - they were flavorful and quite delicious (even went back for seconds...and thirds :) )

We bought a poster from the 10th annual F&WF and framed it. It's now hanging on our den wall. Here's a picture of it:

Subscribing - will need to catch up later...

Wow, it seems they are later and later setting the bookings for this event.

Was part of our 2007 thread, so I will look to see new siggies and some familiar ones as well, like patricia.

They definately have a poster every year so you will find that with no problem.
Many times throughout the fest the poster artist is there and available for autographs as well.

I don't know how I've missed this sticky thread for so long. I was starting to wonder if no one on here really cared about the F&W festival this year since I hadn't seen any talk about it.

Are the events suppose to come out next week? I'm hoping to do some dinners while we're there the first week of F&W.

Hi everyone!!! :goodvibes Now that my Christmas vacation ADRs are all done, I can focus on planning our Halloween/F&W Festival trip! :hyper: I can't wait to go back. We had such a good time last year. ::yes:: Party for the Senses was amazing and we will definitely be going again this year - although, the $150 price tag, if that's really what it is, will certainly add up for us - x5! :scared1: It's still worth it to me... I just hope DH doesn't have a cow. LOL! :lmao:

Thanks for starting this thread, TDC! I can't wait until more info is released. I remember how agonizing it was last year to finally get the full schedule. Ugh. As soon as we do get more info, I'm going to update my handy-dandy rating cards for the World Showcase food booths that I made last year...

I'll post a link to them here so anyone who wants them can download them. :thumbsup2

Cheers!

Michelle - hello again... This was one of the highlights last year - and since we were oh, so fortunate - to have gone 3 times, I kept the books and used them time after time. I still have them.....

Michelle-those cards were the best! I'm glad you'll be updating them for this year. I remember running them off on my computer just hours before we hopped on the plane last year. We've been having F&W Fantasies over here! :rotfl:

Now as for the rumoured $150 per person for PFTS...ugh...that bites the big one. I almost wish my kids hated good food...I'd better start looking under the couch cushions for that loose change now. :rotfl2:

yuck!!! - I am reading backwards,,,,really $150??? They should open at 5:00 for that price...I too remember $70.

We are hoping to hear something soon also! Would be nice to what to budget for and help make choices on some new events!

Last years poster was done by Heather French, I love her stuff, a few years ago we bought her poster then proceeded to redecorate the dinning room around it ! She is not doing the festival poster this year but she is always a featured artist at F&W, and can usually be found at the booth by the water just before Canada (don't know what they call that it's only there during F&W and F&G) Stop by and see her!
Heather is doing a special appearance in Sept at the wine shop good friends of mine own b/c I hooked them up I'm so excited.
