***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

Well I FINALLY booked some stuff.
I hate the VOICE prompts!

I booked the Cheese Tasting and PFTS on 10/11. I will be solo so say Hi if you see me!

I didn't think to ask how the things were booking up, but if my first CM is an indicator I bet things are empty. He didn't have a clue what to do if it wasn't a resturant at Disney and disconnected me!!!!!

I've wondered how things are booking, too. Anybody know? Seems to me in the past Deb's site would put a note beside events that were booked up, but thus far everything looks available.
(Of course no counting the perfume/champagne soire that was cancelled. )

I'm planning a last minute weekend trip for Sept 26th through the 28th ...per the Disney event calendar the F&W wasn't set to start until the 28th, but from what I have read in this sticky it starts on the 26th...which also coincides with an extra magical hours evening at Epcot....do the F&W booths close at 9pm or do they stay open with the extended hours?

We only live an hour away so we usually just show up for the day..this is the first time in a long time(7 years) that we have gotten to be 'on-site' resort guests....and I am in heavy duty itinerary/list mode....something that I have missed since moving to FL.

Carol- we'll be at the PFTS on 10/11 as well :)

It does start on the 26th, and there should be some soft opening on the 25th. It always starts on the Friday of the weekend, which is the 26th. :)

The booths do stay open with Extra Magic Hours, as well.

I have someone creating custom scrapbook pages for my upcoming trip. She's stuck on ideas for graphic for PFTS as neither she or I have ever been before.

Does anyone have any good pictures that they could be willing to share for inspiration?

:confused3 I booked two Party for the Senses this morning and the CM I was dealing with said there was no way she could see how sold out the events were. Does that sound right? It seems that I have read that certain events were 'almost sold out', etc.. Did I just have someone who didn't know how to check,or does Disney Dining really have no idea of how booked an event is?

Epcot International Food & Wine FestivalCelebrating its 13th year, the 2008 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival's theme is "Cities in Wonderland ." Your Epcot admission is all that’s needed to participate in this popular venue.

DisneyDeeva that sounds like a good idea. Can you use your mailing brochure with the graphics on it for inspiration? It is a very pretty design this year... Or how about something with an Alice in Wonderland theme? The Mad Hatter's Tea Party for example...popcorn::

Last year when I booked a F&W Pairing in Morocco for November I was told there was one place left and only 2 for Italy. I was able to book the Morocco pairing but Italy was gone by the time she finished with my first booking. ;)

The brochure is what we used for inspiration for the general pages. I was able to come up with ideas for the demonstrations, the booths and the welcome center based on prior experinces. But, since this will be my first PFTS, I have no point of reference.

Anyone have any photos of the signage or decorations for PFTS?

The menu changes each year. You will receive a book when you check in with many pages you can scan for the scapbook...of course this requires waiting....:)

Just got back this week from a 3 week trip to Europe so I missed a lot! Glad to hear there will probably be a brochure. Can't wait till next Friday!

Hating this waiting. My parents and sister flew over yesterday so are bringing me back a festival guide (theyre there for 2 weeks) but Im so so impatient now just want it here already! Still when they get back only 2/3 weeks and were off!!!

Thanks everyone for your help with PFTS pics. I think I'm finally ready to print off my scrapbook/journal and have it bound. Only five more days until I return to my "happy place"

Well, that's it. I am, finally, certifiably insane.

Just got off the phone with our good friends at Disney Dining and, $1,400+ later, three of us will be attending the Bocuse d'Or Grand Gala Saturday night. It comes at the expense of a V&A dinner (note for any interested -- there is now a V&A table available Friday, 9/26 @ 9:30) and the ability to join in the festivities at PI's last night.

But after seeing that menu (and the chefs who will be preparing it), I just couldn't stop myself! If I run into John Besh or Thomas Keller, I will prostrate myself :worship: I did find it interesting that it is not a black tie event. Kinda thought that it would be. In fact, the dress code was only jacket suggested, so not even jacket and tie required.

Thankfully, we will be partying it up at the Adventurer's Club Friday night, so even though it's not the final night I'm thinking it will still be a great time!

Congratulations! It should be a fabulous night. One you'll always remember.

How very exciting. :goodvibes I can't wait to hear how it goes! I think that IF our flight got in early enough and IF I canceled a couple of our ADRs I might have sprung for this too. But I would have been solo because my DH would not have appreciated the food. He would have been very disappointed. :( So, I cannot wait for you to tell us all about it!
