There is no mention of the Back to Basics Seminars in what little information they have bothered to announce so far for this year's F & W Festival so I wouldn't even count on them having any this year. They were basically 25-30 minute free mini seminars on a specific subject such as Spices, watermelon, Himalayan Salt, Chocolate, honey, butter and a few others I don't recall. You had to show up early to get a ticket to be allowed into the small theater area that they held these seminars in. Sometimes the presenter just talked and there were no samples of what they talked about given to the guests. Other times you were given samples of spices or chocolates or a small taste of what they were presenting. Sometimes it was just some literature or recipes. They maybe seated 30-35 people at these seminars. The Watermelon one was just the presenter showing you how to carve a watermelon for a display at a party, no sample tastes, If I remember just some literature with ideas of how to carve your watermelon. Fine if you had some time to kill & wanted to cool off and happened to be there at the right time to get a ticket for a seat. I certain wouldn't consider them to be something to plan your day around if they do offer them again this year. I can't recall even attending any over the last few years although I did do some in the past. The Chocolate one wasn't ever easy to get into unless you camped out until they handed out the tickets.
