Hi all. We are visiting Dec 16-23 and I am so excited! We will go to Epcot on Dec 20, when it is open until 11:30 for EMH. Illuminations is at 9:30, with EMH 9:30-11:30. Does anyone know what to expect for standby lines and crowds during Epcot's evening EMH? I'm hopeful to be able to ride Soarin and Test Track with less than 30 min lines during EMH. Is that realistic? Of course, I don't expect that for FEA! Ha!

We were there in August for emh and it was nuts. Soarin was 45 minutes and it was after 10. Test track was about the same and dd and I rode it with the single rider line. The park was much busier then I thought it would be.

Ugh!! Not at all what I wanted to hear, but better to expect this in advance. Thanks for posting.

WS will be really busy with the extra time to snack and drink around the world, and the headliners like TT and Soarin will still have pretty long waits, just about all the way up to closing. Without FP, your best bet would be doing single rider at TT then get in line for Soarin right before closing.

What about shopping at WS? Are the shops open during EMH in the evening? It would be great to take in the night time atmosphere and do some shopping. TIA!

Yes,most,if not all the shops will be open.

I love WS during PM EMH although it used to be much better when it was 3 hours!

Now there is a chance some of the shops may not stay open or may close early.

The 2 most likely for this are the huge stores in China and Japan.:)

How likely is it that a same day fastpass would be available for soarin after a late afternoon fastpass? When do they open up EMH fast passes?

Wondering if EMH will be the same in late January?
Hubby really wants to ride test track in the dark and I didn't think EMH would be overly busy. Maybe if we ride during the fireworks??

We were there a few years ago in the middle of Dec, and the 20th (which was the Sat before Christmas) was the day that we spent at Epcot and saw a hugely significant increase in crowds. As most schools will be out by this point expect very high crowd levels, even during EMH

I've seen it go a few ways but generally many leave after illuminations but those that leave to the buses see the rides operating and many get into lines. It depends on how slow you exit world showcase for what the line will look like but I won't planning getting more than 1 and if lucky 2 rides before the park closes.
