Epcot: Drinking Around the World

Wait, what's a Welsh Dragon? Is that a mixed drink or a beer?

It's a drink made of Melon Liquer, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Peachtree Schnapps and a shot of Creme de Menthe. You've got to taste it since it does sound like a strange combination. DH and I figured out how to make it after our trip in July 06. They list the ingredients on the menu so we just had to figure ot the measurements. We drink it quite a lot here at home in MA!

Canada --the only country we skipped, now that I know you can get a drink at the podium, that won't happen again!

UK-- outside we get cider...inside, well, theres no end to the drinking if you go inside

France--wine, and cheese...and baguette as a late breakfast!

Morocco-- red wine

Japan-- plum wine

U.S.-- seasonal brew

Italy-- lemonciello .... it will be a good day

Germany-- I didn't realize there was a wine bar, so I waited in the Sommerfest line for whatever wine they had, next time I'll fix that issue

China-- some tea liquor drink from the Joy of Tea cart, oh my

Norway-- viking coffee...though what is really Norwegian about it? Bailey's? lol

Mexico-- margarita...the weakest one I've ever had

A layered margarita?! What a great concept. Everyone has been most helpful and the drink menu i have for each country has definitely overfloweth. Thank goodness for Disney transportation.

Yea, the layered margarita is mango, apple, and lemon I believe? It's really good, and a nice way to try out all the flavors (you can also get all of them individually).

They used to be much stronger, ever since they moved to the stand right past Mexico, they havne't been nearly as strong. I normally get two now just to even it up.

Here are some of my favorites:

Mexico - Margaritas or a Dos Equis
Germany - Anything at the beer stand
America - Budweiser yum
England - Rum and cokes at the Rose and Crown
France - Both new drinks (although they've been there since 2 F & W fests now), the orange Grand Marnier and the Grey Goose Vodka lemonade are AMAZING
Canada - Normally by the time we get here (we always start in Mexico), we got so plastered at the Rose and Crown we just want to go home...lol

Thanks everyone for the your input I really appreciate it and will make sure I also pack some Tylenol :ssst: We leave in 6 days and have an amazing drink menu in hand.

Don't forget to drink water too !!
Those Crystal Light Energy On The Go packets are perfect for carrying around WDW, just add one to a bottle of water to get rehydrated and a little extra energy. They keep me from needing to take a nap right in the middle of WS after a few beers.

Lol I will try to document our whirlwind drinking frenzy around the world:laughing: But I can't promise the pictures will be so wonderful.

Thanks again everyone. I love this site!!!!!!

Five :grouphug: Disney Divas (Moms from Texas) coming to the World in September to celebrate a 40th birthday! Planning on drinking around the world...anyone have a t-shirt design they'd like to share? Going to get a passport and have the bartender in each country write the birthday girl a message in their language! :drinking1

I also love the layered margarita from Mexico - although the one I had last year was heavy on the tequila... It tasted so good - disappointed to hear that they may have changed the recipe.

My DH loves the sake in Japan. He will spend the evening there if I let him.

Anyway - Epcot is a great place. Enjoy the park and raise a toast to the rest of us.

Margaritas from Mexico are the best!! Last summer we had one early in the day, by the time we walked to America we were happy campers!

We love drinking around the world and can't wait to go back and do it again this summer! Here are a few pics of our last trip in December.

We started early in Japan with my favorite combo...Sushi and Kirin Light!

Then we headed over to Mexico. I thought the margaritas were awful...way too sugary. I do like my Dos Equis though!

Next we hit Norway for a little Carlsberg...pretty yummy!

By far China was the worst of the evening...we had Macau instead of Tsing Tao...Big mistake...but Chinese beer is just awful anyway! NEVER AGAIN!

Germany was next...Spaten...a little darker and sweeter...a very good beer!!

And then there was France...I had Merlot and he had 1664. We were both very happy (but then again who wouldn't be at this point? hahah!)

We were going to skip Canada but decided to give Moosehead a shot...what a big surprise...it was our favorite of the night and the CM was awesome!!!

Then we ended out night with cider (strongbow for me, currant for him) at Rose and Crown).

We sat at the pub and watched illuminations...what a great view! We had a fabulous time and left very happy!! :thumbsup2

We've Heard anywhere from 2-9 hours to drink around the world. My wife and I would like to throw down a chalenge to any couple brave enough that is going to be there in early September. We will attempt to have a drink at every country in record time, we are in training now. We,re from Buffalo (a drinking town with a football problem) and feel if anyone should hold the record, we should. If anyone wants to come along for the ride, we could use a cheering section(ha ha ha).
Let us know if any competitors want to shre some good drinks and some great memories.

During one of my F&W festival girlfriends trip, we planned on doing the beer demonstation at R&C and then some "taste testing" of the different drinks around the world - didn't get too far - the 3 beers each in 20 minutes got the buzz going real well :thumbsup2 . We headed back to ESPN for a nice sit down "do it again" kind of thing and that was just perfect!

Can't wait for this October trip!
