Help, we are going May4-10 and have Disney reward dollars to use, never been to Epcot, and only have one day for a Disney park. Should we try Epcot with boys age 16,13,5 and2??

Absolutely! Your two oldest will most certainly prefer it to Magic Kingdom. If the 5yo is tall enough for Test Track, Soarin, and Mission Space, he will have a blast as well. You can still take the youngest ones to meet characters- actually EPCOT is a great park to do this. There are plenty of rides that all can go on (Spaceship Earth, Ellen's Energy Adventure, Mexico ride, Maalstrom, etc). Don't miss Club Cool where you can try soft drinks from various countries. And the entertainment is great- Turtle Talk with Crush in the Seas pavilion is lots of fun, and of course all of the street performers in World Showcase. EPCOT is our favorite and our kids have always loved it, no matter what their ages!

thanks so much, I cant believe what a struggle it is to plan all of this....I wish I could just go with it like my husband but, I am a planner to a fault!

Epcot has a lot to offer young kids. There are lots of character signings, the living seas has plenty of fish, and the slower rides should be fine for the younger ones. The older two have mission:space (spinning side), test track, soarin', and all the world showcases to explore (if they are into that). Plus the firework show is awesome and I think the dining options there are great. The Garden show will be going on then, I think, which I've never seen but is probably cool.

MK is always reliable though. The older two might not care for it as much, perhaps.

DHS is an option, but I don't think the star wars remodel will be done by then (I'm hoping to catch a soft opening since I'll be there a week after you and a week before the Star Wars weekends begin).

As for AK, I like the park, but doubt it would be the only one I'd visit.

4 boys, eh? What is your secret? :)

Yes I would def go to Epcot. You really need to visit all 4 parks to "do" Disney. From there you can decide the amount of time to spend in each. Just my opinion. Good luck!

Our DD's LOVE Epcot!! There is so much for kids to do there. As well as what others have mentioned, here are a few of our favorites.

Your kids might enjoy the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure. It is a fun way to see all the different countries.

There is also some pretty cool stuff to do in Innoventions. Our family loves to do The Great Piggy Bank Adventure, Don't Waste It!! and Where's the Fire? - these are all things your youngest can participate in.

Last time we went my daughter was only 8mos old and she enjoyed EPCOT

she liked any sort of boat ride so loved the Living with the Land, the Mexico Ride, Maelstrom, etc.

She also liked the Nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush

There are also several "exciting" rides for the older boys too

I do feel it is kinda hard to not go to the MK when you are there, but EPCOT is probably my favorite park so if you have never been I suggest you give it a try :thumbsup2

My secret to 4 boys?? Don't sweat the small stuff....I love it and wouldn't trade it for the world!! Thanks for the advice! I am excited as Epcot is the one I wanted to visit but, was worried about the young kids!

OMG...E is great for everyone! My DD15 and my DS5 LOVE EPCOT!!! Do not miss it! Lots to see and do!! My DS says it's his favorite park! LOL

The Flower and Garden Festival will also be going on during this time and they put out some great play areas for the kids! My son is 3 and this is his favorite park! There are a lot of great places for them to run around and he loves to watch the performers around the world showcase, play in the cars at the end of test track and watch all the fish in the loving seas! Be sure to get all your kids to do Kidcot. Its a place in each world showcase pavilion that has activities for kids to do and its FREE! Last time we were there, Duffy the bear was just debutingpirate:, they had Duffys that you could color and take to each country and someone would write their name in that countrys language on it! So cool, especially for the older ones! Have fun!!

On our trip, we had two whole days and one half day at MK (the half day was MNSSHP). We had one day at Epcot, one day at DHS and a half day at AK. I thought we needed that much time at MK and that Epcot would be the park that we'd be bored at--I anticipated being done there by 3pm and calling it an early night. In reality, we wished that we had dedicated at least two days to Epcot, maybe more. My kids are 3 and 5. There's sooo much to do there--I think they could have easily spent the whole day just in The Seas. And we probably spent 3 hours in Innoventions. I think you will be surprised how much there is for kids to do there--I know I was.

I'm going to echo the post about the flower and garden show play areas for the younger ones. DD8 and DS4 loved the play areas. There is a butterfly house too.

I have 3 boys :grouphug: I always get very rude comments in public... Its amazing fun though isnt it?

I'm sorry to hear you get rude comments. I guess once you have at least three of the same gender, people feel a need to comment on it???

Our situation is the opposite: DH has one sister, I have two sisters, DH & I have two girls, our three sisters have eight girls between them. Not a boy in the lot. We think it's kind of neat; certainly would have loved a boy somewhere in there, but we wouldn't trade any of our 10 girls for anything. And being that mine are some of the youngest, lots of hand-me-downs!

As for OP's question, I can't wait for my DDs (7 & 6) to visit Epcot. Some people think we're crazy for spending three days there (8-day trip), but I know my girls and I know they love those kinds of things. I still expect MK to be their favorite, but I think when it's all said and done, Epcot will come in second, ahead of DHS and AK.

They're looking forward to saying "hello" to CMs in different languages, having their passports stamped, visiting the Kidcot stations, seeing the Seas, riding Soarin', trying a Kimpossible Mission, seeing Daddy drink the Beverly, watching the Candy Lady, hearing musicians from other countries and seeing the topiaries.

Have a great time!
