I rarely keep up on these types of technologies and I was hoping some of you could answer a few questions for me.

First off, I'd bought my daughter an IPod 2 years ago. I paid like $300 for it, but someone stole it. She's not asked for another since, but this year she is wanting one. Could the Blackberry Curve take the place of an IPod, or would you want both?

Let me also explain that our plan runs out in Feb. and I think I could renew at this time. I know you're allowed to go outside the contract within a couple months either way. IF we can't however, we will wait on the phones. I'm not paying all that money for new phones now when we're this close to renewal. They will just have to wait. My son's phone is just ridiculous though. He's not even able to receive calls at all. He can text though, so I would like to to re-up the plan if it's possible (if not, I'll buy him a cheap phone to hold us over).

I see lots of features with the Blackberry. I'm not even sure what they all are. I see GPS (they both already have Garmin's), but that requires another service, right? That's what my daughter told me. Both kids already have the Internet, texting, etc... Aside from those however, what else does this Curve do? I know it has email and such and my daughter can do that with her current Voyager. Would there be extra charges for anything else with this phone?

My son wants the enV Touch. Any recommendations on it? He had an enV at one time and it didn't hold up (actually, I think 2 of them didn't hold up the first enV and then the enV2 which were both covered by warranty). This phone reminds me a lot of my daughter's Voyager. The Chocolate Touch is nice, but it doesn't have the QWERTY Keyboard and like most kids, mine do a LOT of texting, so this it's imperative that any phone have that keypad (I don't think those touch pads are comparable to the key pad).

Anyone have any thoughts they could share or recommendations even outside of these 2 phones?
