Entertainment book Coupon...already booked through WDTC?

So we are staying at the Park Place in December. How do you know what type of room you are getting? We really need the mini-suite type room since we have 3 adults and 2 kids, but can't really afford any other charges. Also we have the entertainment book and it states that there is a 20% discount off of the best available price or 10% off whichever is greater. I booked through WDTC and have no clue how to figure out if I got the discount or how to go about getting it. Any help is appreciated.

The ET book coupon is when booking with the hotel directly, not in a package with WDTC. Not sure what room they have you booked in. You'll have to call and ask WDTC.

So what is the benefit of booking through WDTC vs. booking directly at Park Place and using your 20% discount? Packages usually are not cheaper through WDTC. If you are going in December you are more then 30 days out so can you cancer your reservation though WDTC and book through the hotel directly? Something to look into but make sure you can book directly before you cancel your reservation with WDTC.

I agree. I don't typically do packages through WDTC because I can typically find a better rate through the hotel directly, or I get a package (or room only) through getawaytoday.com with a 3rd or 4th night free.

hm.. so I have already paid in full. If I were to call and cancel would I lose anything that I already paid? Would I still be able to get the 6 day park hopper? How about the meals, we did the meal plan? I don't want to lose money, but if we could save and have the excess go towards snacks and souvenirs then I am all for it.

It would cancel everything.

PHs: you can get discounted park hoppers through ares travel, getawaytoday.com or even DL's website still

Meal plan: unless you got it for free (which I think was just for onsite guests) it does NOT save you money. It is just pre purchasing vouchers at their face value.

I know the meal plan wasn't saving us money it was more for my own sanity to know the meals were taken care of and not stressing about whether or not the family will get to eat. I know I could put the money on a gift card, but then it is too tempting to spend on other things. With it being on the vouchers you can only use it on food so no stressing over spending too much for gifts.

PH's -- are there usually good discounts?

Will I loose any of the money that I have paid already if I cancel through the WDTC or will they just refund it back? If they refund it back, it probably takes a good week or so and I wouldn't be able to book anything else until the money is refunded. I just don't want to lose any of the money I have already paid. Plus, I don't want to loose any chance of getting a hotel during the week or so I am waiting for the refund then rebooking. GRR Decisions decisions.

Discounts on PHs are probably about the same as you paid in your package or a few dollars cheaper (unless you booked before the price increase in June).

If it's more than 30 days out I think they refund the entire thing. It says it can take 7-10 days but my experience is more like 3 business days. The hotel shouldn't have to be pre-paid if booking through the hotel unless you are getting the prepaid discounted rate, so you could book that right away. I'd price things out separately to see what the price difference you'd be saving before canceling anything. It may not be enough to warrant the added stress.
