Enough food w/ DDP?

Would you like to see the addition of another snack credit and refillable mug to DDP?

  • No Way! It's enough food! We don't need no stinkin snack credit or refillable mug!

  • Yes! We could certainly use an extra snack and refillable mug with the DDP!

  • Just an extra snack is great, don't want the refillable mug!

  • Other, cause you have to have "other"!

Is it just me, or is DDP not quite enough food? We did DDP last year and it was just not enough. At home we like to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That's the way we prefer it at Disney too. I have no problem using the snack credit for a lite breakfast or lunch item. But I think you should be able to use your snack credit for an actual snack too--just like the other dining plans. Also, I'd love to have a refillable cup, like the other dining plans as well.

I know many people on the dining plan just eat breakfast in their room, or bring their own snacks into the park. But call me crazy, if you're purchasing a full dining plan, you shouldn't have to buy the extra food. JMHO. I guess what I'm trying to say is I think the DDP should have the extra snack and mug just like the others. What do you think?

ETA:

Counter Service Dining Plan:
2 CS credits/nt
1 refillable mug/pp
2 snack credit/nt

Disney Dining Plan:
1 TS credit & 1 CS credit/nt
1 snack credit/nt

Deluxe Dining Plan:
3 TS credits/nt
1 refillable mug/pp
2 snack credits/nt

its good like it is, I don't want to waste time eating breakfast at the park or resorts....like eating in the villa and then hitting the parks, saves lots of time.....IMHO

like the DDP just the way it is...if you want 3 full sit-downs a day, sounds like you need to buy the Deluxe plan. One extra snack & a refill mug wouldn't get you breakfast:confused3

I pretty much agree with you. I would really like an additional snack. We tend to spend money OOP for snacks toward the end of our trip. Although, I can probably do without a mug, I find it frustrating that it's offered in the QSDP and not the regular DDP.

I think that everyone eats differently. For my family, we tend to snack more than we sit down for large meals, so we struggle with the "drink, entree, dessert" deal in the DDP...especially if we can't get a dessert to go.

A while ago, someone suggested a "design your own" DDP with different price tiers and I think that's an excellent idea. (But probably very difficult to manage)....

If the appetizer was brought back that would be plenty of food for us. We do not eat dessert, so the new plan isn't enough for us.

and a refillable mug for the normal plan would be awesome!

I'm fine with the DDP the way it is.
I cannot even imagine eating more than is provided, and we often leave CS or snack credits on the table as it is, anyway.

I agree I think the mug should be included just like it is with the other two plans. I'd also like to have either another snack credit to use for breakfast or better yet another CS to use for breakfast. We would love to do CS breakfast, CS lunch, a TS dinner, then have one snack available for a real snack, if we want it during the day. That's more or less the way we eat at home, so why wouldn't we at WDW?

I will be using the DDP for the first time in May. I had second thoughts that it wouldn't be enough food, but I think we are going to be fine. If we have Breakfast at 10, and Dinner at 6 with a snack in between, I think we will be okay. We are planning on paying for one, or two meals out of pocket just in case. I think having a "design your own meal plan" would be a great idea.

We have always used the DDP. Since the change which saw the loss of the appetizer, I have always felt it was missing something. In my opinion, either the return of the appetizer or the addition of an extra snack and refillable mug would be a great addition to the current DDP

Just my 2 cents

Cheers

Hmmmmm....I am okay with it as it is, we usually have EXTRA credits with snacks left (3A) also, I think pricing would likely go UP big time if they added either.....So far, I have never even PAID for it, so NO COMPLAINTS here, :rotfl2:

Oh! That would be great to have an extra CS meal. But I was thinking about changes to the DDP that Disney might be willing to make in the future,(however near or far.) I just can't see them adding a CS, but I think upgrading the plan to match the others, in terms of a refillable mug, and extra snack could be something that they'd consider.

...One extra snack & a refill mug wouldn't get you breakfast:confused3

Actually, it could. It could get you a light breakfast of a muffin/bagel/pastry/oatmeal/piece of fruit at your resort. The refillable mug could be used for soda or hot chocolate. :)

I would love to see a DYW (DineYourWay) package

CS=1 credit
TS=2 credits
Signature=3 Credits

Dessert and appetizers could be switched.

1 Snack per day

You could purchase 2,3,4,5 or more credits per day.

The Mug would be for all plans.

I think the plan is fine the way it is. We had snack credits left over. As far as the mug, it's $13, pay for one OOP if you want it but don't include it in the plan for those who don't want it and then will have to pay for it anyway. It's not like Disney is giving you this stuff for free.

I found that we were getting too much food on the DDP! Everywhere you go gives you way more than one serving size, plus dessert at every meal. We ended up using a few snack credits to get food for our trip home.

I voted "other" (hey, someone has to, right? ;) )

My ideal DDP would be:

2 CS meals (breakfast and lunch)
1 TS meal (dinner)
1 snack
1 refillable mug

We are 3-meal-a-day people, and would like to see the DDP encompass 3 meals on something other than the deluxe plan. Because honestly, the deluxe is just WAY too much food for us, as we'd want to "get our money's worth" out of it and would be booking more TS than CS. Just a simple $6-7 breakfast added on to the plan (and the mug....that would be a nice perk too) would suit me just fine.

I'm sure there's no way to come up with a perfect design that fits the vast majority of people. I'd like them to allow using 2 QS meals from the CSDDP for a TS meal -- but guess we'll be doing our one or two TS meals OOP (I don't like to be committed to a tight schedule of ADR's -- mostly CS/QS works for us). And TS usually takes longer than QS, even tho it's nice to be sitting down and not waiting in line. I guess I haven't really been impressed with the TS food anyway, for the most part, to make it worthwhile.

It does seem odd that the refillable mug isn't included in all the plans -- it's pretty cheap, and for the most part, what goes into it doesn't cost the resort very much (Florida water).

If you like to eat 3 meals a day ...how about upgrading to the dxdp, 3 meals, 2 snacks and a refillable mug.

We thought that the regular dining plan was too much food. By the end of the 10 days we were tired of eating and left 9 CS credits unspent between the four of us. Getting a couple of resort mugs for free would have been a nice perk though.

I voted "other" I would like to see the mug added as part of the DDP but for us, we don't need more food. For breakfast, we share two cs meals and get two snacks. For lunch, we share two cs meals. And then share the two snacks later that day. Then have our ts dinner.

With the way you get a juice and a drink at breakfast, we find that adding a couple of cereals via snack credits gives our family of four plenty to eat at that meal. Then a couple of double burgers or other larger cs meals we do fine at that meal as well.

I have my list of places that give us the best value for lunch. Like Cosmic Rays at the MK and WPE in DTD.

But having that mug included would be so nice. I guess an extra snack would be okay too, but for us, we'd just use it for water bottles most likely.

For us, its basically too much food. We seem to waste a lot of food and last trip we ended up with four unused cs credits. And I have a bottomless pit 14 year old son and we still had too much! But its such a good deal, we end u doing it even with the potential for wasted food and credits.
