Enough food w/ DDP?

Would you like to see the addition of another snack credit and refillable mug to DDP?

  • No Way! It's enough food! We don't need no stinkin snack credit or refillable mug!

  • Yes! We could certainly use an extra snack and refillable mug with the DDP!

  • Just an extra snack is great, don't want the refillable mug!

  • Other, cause you have to have "other"!

It sounds like the deluxe dining plan would be a much better fit for your family. We LOVE that plan.

The regular dining plan is definetly not enough food for us. We do the deluxe dining plan now. Love the DxDP, you get to try so many restaurants!

I thought about the dxdp, and I really wouldn't want to do that many TS's a day. An extra snack and a refillable mug would be good enough for me. To me, it just makes sense to match up the DDP(in terms of snacks and mug) to the other 2 dining plans. Also, I feel like if I'm paying over a $1000 for a week of the dining plan, I shouldn't have to worry about buying extra food to supplent the plan, or splitting meals. Just MHO. :)

We are doing the free dinning in Sept. I have most everything figured out and we will be lucky if we use all our credits. We will be paying out of pocket for 2 meals plus tips and extras. I figure about $250.00. One at Fulton's and a breakfast at CP.I really want to see MK castle with no people around it.This is way cheaper than buying the Deluxe plan. We are dinning at Narcossee's, Ohanna's, Chef De France, Spoddles(maybe) and Raglan Road, Boma's for Breakfast and to walk around AKL. I think it will be more than enough food. We plan on eating a light breakfast in the room, CS for lunch then a late dinner. I think it all depends on what you usually eat like at home. I can give or take the mug.

We probably would do the deluxe dining plan if we were going to WDW for a week or less. However, we go for 14 days and the deluxe plan would be far too expensive as we are not big eaters. We do the regular plan and buy a refillable mug for each of us. I wish they would go to an all inclusive plan that would cover the tip. That makes it so much easier if you have paid for everything upfront. i loved the previous plan that included the appetizer and tip.

I am always amazed by the amount of people that have credits left with the DDP, do they bring water and their own snacks? If each person drank one bottle of water a day using the DDP, there go all of your snack credits, or like in the case of my DDs, they have to have at least one mickey head ice cream treat or cookie snack. We have used the DDP only 3 times but NEVER had leftover credits. In fact I usually pay for a few CS meals and snacks (mostly bottled water) OOP. On our last trip, my DDS were 11/12 YO and my sister was 18YO. We try to get the biggest breakfast we can at the resort using 1-2 CS credits and split that among 4 of us. We typically have 1 TS meal and 1 CS meal in the parks. I have tried to get them to skip breakfast or do a late breakfast/early lunch but they get very cranky!

The DxDP is too much food, too much sitting down time and too much money!!
I would like the free mug as well as the additional snack to match what the other plans offer. I agree that I miss the tip being included.

We are bringing water and breakfast crereal/bars for our trip in March so that we can stretch our DDP credits to last the entire trip.

Other. I'd replace a couple things with a couple other things:

1) I think that they should include the mug, but then stop handing out beverage cups as a matter of course at the resort food courts--if for no other reason than to be green.

2) They should eliminate the dessert with CS meals and give you an additional snack. We never wanted dessert right after eating a CS meal. Many of them are huge portions! We tried to select desserts to save for later--chocolate cookies, brownies, that sort of thing. I'd prefer to have that "course" of my one CS meal be a snack of my choosing.

I would love to see a DYW (DineYourWay) package

CS=1 credit
TS=2 credits
Signature=3 Credits

Dessert and appetizers could be switched.

1 Snack per day

You could purchase 2,3,4,5 or more credits per day.

The Mug would be for all plans.

That would be good!! We have gotten the DXDDP the last two trips and it works out nice for us. We have the two kids that are with us that are not on the plan yet. Under 3 (well not for long) but even when they are old enough I can't imagine not wanting to be on the deluxe or a DYW (maybe someday they will think of this!, I would be the first in line!! :thumbsup2 )

I totally agree. We go for 10-14 days at a time and we order water from Costco (6 cases (144 bottles) and have it delivered to our room. This is for 2 Adults and one teenager. We also bring a case of Zip fizz which we add to our water for a pick me up at the parks. Last year we had a few bottles left over which we gave away. We also had 2CS credits left over due to my being sick for a couple of days and only eating soup. I bought lunch for a couple of strangers at the resort rather than leave the CS credits. I am sure Disney looks to see if all credits were used up so I wanted to make sure there were no credits left.

We also took the bus to Disney west side and went across the road to the Hess station and bought beer and snacks.

I voted "other" (hey, someone has to, right? ;) )

My ideal DDP would be:

2 CS meals (breakfast and lunch)
1 TS meal (dinner)
1 snack
1 refillable mug

We are 3-meal-a-day people, and would like to see the DDP encompass 3 meals on something other than the deluxe plan. Because honestly, the deluxe is just WAY too much food for us, as we'd want to "get our money's worth" out of it and would be booking more TS than CS. Just a simple $6-7 breakfast added on to the plan (and the mug....that would be a nice perk too) would suit me just fine.

We would go for your plan in a heart beat...The deluxe plan is too much food...We always get the basic plan and have to add a few meals OOP and get the mugs...

Great plan :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I think there is enough food on Basic plan but would
like to get the Mug free and if they offer the extra Snack credit
I would use it for water--that would be great if they cover all
of your bottled water needs in the plan (can't take tap water--yuck!)

like the DDP just the way it is...if you want 3 full sit-downs a day, sounds like you need to buy the Deluxe plan. One extra snack & a refill mug wouldn't get you breakfast:confused3

It gets you breakfast if all you eat is a muffin or bagel. We use our snack credits for breakfast all the time. An additional snack credit would allow us to use it for a drink or midnight snack.
