As many of you know I hate the heat, not really, it is just hard on me since I had my transplant. We've decided to just have a quite Holiday at home with just the three of us, dh, me and our 25 year old dd.

I am looking forward to a relaxing day at home doing whatever we want!:worship::thumbsup2 We will cookout on the grill and enjoy the summer foods.

Wishing everyone a happy 4th. :goodvibes

Happy Fourth to you too!:cheer2:

We are kind of skipping the hoopla this yr as well. Too many things to do.

Us too. Our plans fell through this year so we are having a quiet day at home as well, cooking on the grill later. Maybe a few cocktails :goodvibes

If we are up to it, we may catch some fireworks tonight, but we are just playing it by ear this year! Most likely we will watch the fireworks on tv.

Morning Kitty:hug:

Nothing wrong with enjoying a quiet day at home with family!!!

DH was originally scheduled to work this weekend, but he asked if he could have off one of the days. They gave him today off:woohoo:!!! Work has been asking him to come in on his days off, and he has done that for them. I guess they are just returning the favor.

Anywho, we have no definite plans today due to the fact that we didn't know if he would have to work. So now we will take a leisurely ride on the motorcycle over to Gettysburg. Definitely hit the Harley Davidson store, and who knows where else.

Whatever you get into, enjoy your day!!!!

I'm chillin' today too. My big expedition today will be going to the grocery store to pick up something to grill tonight & tomorrow. Only time I do big crowds and fireworks is when we're at WDW.:earsboy:

We are hanging at home, planning on enjoying a quiet day. We just returned on Friday night from WDW, so there is laundry and stuff to do. I am thinking about heading over to Archiever's for some scrapbook supplies and grilling some steaks later.

Us, too. Kids are at summer camp -- DH and I went to a professional softball game last night that had fireworks afterward. I'm good.

I have some household things to do -- Laundry and I'll probably keep cleaning DS16's room.....:scared1::scared:

Have a good day, Kitty.

Quiet here also, visiting friends later today.

quiet here as well dh is working this weekend my sister may come to visit this afternoon and we may have a few friends drop by tonight but they won't be here by the masses. dh love fireworks so he will be putting on a show but it will just be the neighbors thatb happen to be home that see it. oh and i'am making lots of pies for my family to taste test for an upcomming pie contest so i have to see what they like. and by they way happy july 4th to all on the board.

We're going to spend the afternoon at the pool with friends, but will grill dinner at home with just the 4 of us. Enjoy your holiday!

I am going to my DDILs moms house for a pool party. It will just be DD and I because both my DSs and DH both have to work today and I really didn't want to spend the day alone! I need to get moving and fix my food!

ETA: After reading all the horriable MIL stories on here, I am so glad that my DDIL and I get along so well and I also get along with her family! Its nice that we can all enjoy each other!

our tradition is bbq'ing at my mom's and drinking bloody mary's. well be doing that this year again! there's 4 adults and my 18 month old son so it's really quiet.

much better than last year when we drove 9 hours to knoxville for 1 day and drove home. that was way too much. and i missed my mom's bloody mary's!

When we lived in Maine, we were the ones that always hosted a big 4th of July BBQ/pool party for family members. We also always attended the town festivities (parade, fireworks).

This 4th of July is probably the quietest one I've ever had. And, you know what? I'm kind of enjoying it! It is just my husband and me hanging around the house today. We moved last week, so we're still in the recovery process from that. It's much too hot to do anything outside, at least during the daylight hours. I'm thinking Boston Pizza down the street for lunch, then home with the Sunday paper.

Anyway, we did our "partying" last night at an outdoor event that was held at a local casino. We enjoyed watching and listening to a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, the Parrotheads, while eating cheeseburgers and chips. The band was excellent! We also got free t-shirts, mini fans, lighted leis, and ice cream.:woohoo: There were fireworks after the performance. Then, since it was so crowded with everyone trying to leave at the same time, we decided to wait it out in the casino.;)

Our kids are gone with plans of their own this weekend, and we received several texts from them earlier in the day yesterday asking what we were doing for the weekend. When I texted our older daughter about our plans to go to the beach party casino event, she texted back, "You go, guys! Just don't get too wild.":rotfl:
